@smorgasborgen Hi Hun. Yes if you go to the first page of the thread, there is a link to a spreadsheet with everyone’s details and due dates on.
Can’t sleep here either. You’re not alone. My eyes and head hurt all the time from the lack of it.

@0lgaDaPolga oh my god!!! Yes!!! I’m so glad it’s not just me. I now have to turn the mirror round in the bathroom when I’m not using it incase I catch a glimpse of something looking back at me when I pass it 😂
It really plays games with your mind.

God I feel rough today. Just generally bleurgh, like I'd feel better if I could throw up or have a giant poo, and then sleep for a week (ha, if only I could sleep for more than 3 hours at a stretch!)

I've also started feeling Really Pregnant. I mean, logically I am Really Pregnant - 35 weeks tomorrow - but I've been really feeling it the past couple of days. I'm so glad Wednesday is my last day at work because I don't think I could manage much longer.

I really need to sort out the "I need these in hospital/in the immediate period after birth" stuff and get the next to me set up/work out how to open and close the pram/work the car seat too!

Stephisaur · 27/10/2018 15:08

@athers666 sorry that you’re having to live in the hospital too!

I wasn’t expecting to actually see the baby today. I assumed it would be a Doppler like the midwife uses, rather than an actual ultrasound. I’m not certain why they’re measuring the fluid around baby but they seem happy with it.

The good news about these scans is that the DAU can see me evenings and weekends so I don’t have to get up at the crack of dawn to get there and then get to work.

Going to pack the hospital bag this week I think.

emwithme · 27/10/2018 15:40

Today just gets better, says she with a flat battery in the supermarket car park.

Hopefully the RAC won't be too long!

Cakelaur · 28/10/2018 09:51

Morning everyone!!!
I've decided to make today pancake day!! I'm currently eating about 12 pancakes all to myself!! 🤤
I am starting to feel very pregnant!! But I'm all done with work (apart from the odd pop in to check on everyone or the odd errand they need) technically I haven't been into work for weeks! 😂 but my mum and dad have gone away for 3 weeks to India and they're NOT missing the birth! So I'm gonna take it easy and watch tv and chill for the next 3 weeks! Once they come back I'll be 36 weeks and ready to think about getting this baby moving.
Defo starting to struggle with putting shoes on/getting dressed/general life! 😂 but not ready for this little guy to come yet!!
Due date 17th December.... 50days til baby due... 57 days until CHRISTMAS!!!

Hi all - last full week full time at work coming up. I’ll do a couple more days the week after (week 37) but broadly feel ok to carry on. Have developed special tactics for tying my shoelaces! Saw the family yesterday and I think they are all a bit disappointed that I am not as enormous as they’d hoped 😂 still using bio oil by the gallon and never going back to non pregnancy jeans again 🙏

Bellesboy1218 · 28/10/2018 10:28

@Cakelaur total craving for pancakes aswel. Promised myself them when I went to bed last night. How funny!!

December2018 · 28/10/2018 10:37

Mmmmmm pancakes!!!!

My "thing" is cheesecake at the minute, totally addicted!

I finish work on Friday I'll be 33 +2 my midwife has told me I need to nip work in the bud sooner than I would have liked, I've got super bad SPD and my job can be quite strenuous lots of lifting etc.

My pelvis feels like it's going to fall out of my front pocket!!

I've got 4 weeks holiday saved which I'm taking before I officially go on mat leave so that's not too bad!
I'm so hungry right now 😂😂

December2018 · 28/10/2018 10:38

Emwithme how did you get on in the car park??

RomPom · 28/10/2018 10:39

Hi ladies, apologies but just coming on for a bit of a rant/pity party.....So mum has started her chemo after finding out her cancer was inoperable. We're still coming across about a million hurdles, like none of her consultants/hospitals and previous GP surgery passing on any info to her current surgery and consultant, which means nobody knows what the hell is going on! I'm doing all the running around/emails/phone calls/chasing up etc.. and I'm exhausted, physically and emotionally. My daughter has well and truly started the terrible twos and just whinges all day long....everything is a battle. I've just been sitting with my mum crying on one side and my daughter crying on the other and I just want to run away. I haven't had a moment to enjoy any of this pregnancy or even get excited about the new baby. I haven't even had time to buy anything for her. Rant over...Sad

Bellesboy1218 · 28/10/2018 11:14

Hi @RomPom just wanted to say I'm very sorry you are having to go through this. Being pregnant is just extra pressure and stress to you.
Perfect timing aswel for terrible 2's to kick in. Give yourself a treat when you can and just remind yourself that your doing a great job and the best you can. X

peachesarenom · 28/10/2018 11:17

I'm sorry RomPom! I think you should buy something for the baby, maybe do an online shop with your mum? I did one with mine, h&m, defo got us both in the mood. It is the toughest of situations though and you should be kind to yourself, it is normal to feel low given the situation.

Everyone talking about mat leave, I've been off since thr start of Oct, it has helped me get my blood sugars in control but I haven't achieved what I wanted!!!

I've been told I'll be induced at some point during week 37! (Although they have said I cam request a c section at any point). That's t-5 weeks!!!

Naturally this has made me panic a little. I've read this can increase your changes of an episiotomy/tearing so I've gone on a bit of a spending spree!

  1. Peri prep: perineal massage oil from 'my expert midwife'
  1. Spritz for bits: calming spray from 'my expert midwife' apparently it should make your bits more comfy post birth.
  1. Perineal cold packs: apparently they don't need freezing and you can just squeeze them to make them cold. Then you put then in your pants with a maternity towel on top to cool you down and make you more comfy.
  1. An extra large inflatable rubber ring to sit on!

Do my question is: Do you think I'm officially a crazy preggo woman who can't control her spending???

P.S I don't have a car seat yet!!!

Bellesboy1218 · 28/10/2018 11:18

Hey ladies, very jealous that you are able to go on mat leave now or soon. I'm working up until 30/11 which il be exactly 38weeks. I run a small insurance brokerage which has been my baby for the last few years so need to get the office functioning without me totally so I can really detach myself for mat leave.

How long are you planning to take off? I've kind of agreed on 9months and then go back part time but it's all up in the air really until LO arrives and we work our life with him.

Bellesboy1218 · 28/10/2018 11:23

Ha ha ha what an interesting shopping list @peachesarenom. I've also been reading up about preparing your body for labour and the message etc.

peachesarenom · 28/10/2018 11:41

Bellesboy1218 what does raspberry leaf tea do?

kaytees · 28/10/2018 12:01

Ohhh @RomPom my heart goes out to you, it really does. That sounds like so much to even try and contend with. It's more than ok to cry and vent here if that helps at all! My son has also hit his terrible twos in the last fortnight (I swear they know to time it!)

@Cakelaur I have had massive pancake cravings this week and keep forgetting to make them! Today I want McDonald's and can't guarunteee I won't log onto Uber eats after this and order it...

@peachesarenom you sound v organised! I've heard good things about spritz for bits. I had an episiotomy and bad tear with my first and didn't find I needed a rubber ring cushion, soft cushions did the job - but best to be prepared!

Am going on mat leave at 36 weeks (currently 31+4) and oh am I counting down. Between hideous lightening pain and braxton hicks I constantly think I'm going into labour early... you'd think as this is my second baby I would be more chilled but nope, not the case!

Bellesboy1218 · 28/10/2018 12:59

Doesn't raspberry leaf tea make for a more slippery exit for baby or help with making the contractions actually move the baby better??

balalalala · 28/10/2018 13:40

Raspberry leaf tea supposedly makes your contractions more effective at the pushing stage. I drank it religiously last time and pushed for 7 minutes but got a 3c tear for my troubles (actually not necessarily related!). I'm drinking it again this time and am up to 2.5 cups a day. I've also been attempting pereneum massage this time which I didn't bother with last time. Not sure I totally get it but figure it can't do any harm! My top tip is get the arnica tablets in!

AGirlinLondon · 28/10/2018 13:57

Hey @bellesboy1218 don’t worry I am nearly 36 weeks and still working full time and feel fine. I am also having 9 months off. Totally down to affordability for me - so trying to stay at work as long as possible without getting stressed. Fine so far.

Bellesboy1218 · 28/10/2018 14:00

Same boat as you @AGirlinLondon. Figure I've had a pretty straight forward pregnancy so keep going whilst I can and then enjoy the maternity leave as stress free as poss.

What are arnica tablets for?

balalalala · 28/10/2018 14:13

Reduced the bruising significantly!

Bellesboy1218 · 28/10/2018 14:58

Had a little google about those arnica tablets, such great reviews. I will defo have a go with them 👍🏽👌🏽

peachesarenom · 28/10/2018 15:16

I've got my arnica tablets already!!! Just put raspberry leaf tea on the shopping list! I vaguely remember hearing you shouldn't start drinking it too soon. Does anyone remember from when?

Bellesboy1218 · 28/10/2018 16:31

I think u can start the tea from a few weeks before due date, like 36 weeks or something as you need to increase the dose as the weeks near the due date.
