I’ve just booked my nhs antenatal class. It’s 1 full day in my area. Don’t know if it’s the same elsewhere.
Anyway, they say online that they like you to book it for when your around 34 weeks so I’ve booked it for when I’ll be 33+1 as 34 weeks just seems abit late for me. As if 6 days is gonna make all the difference 😂 but that’s me at the moment thinking time is going too quickly and I don’t have enough time left. I swear I’m having palpations when I think about it.
Couldn’t really justify paying for the nct ones unfortunately which is a shame as I kind of wanted the whole experience. Are they really good and informative?

@magical creatures in wilts our nhs one is 2x2.5 hrs session one on labour one on baby. I think the nhs ones are very info driven. Nct from the first one I didn't learn anything new as had already done NHS. NCT was more about group work and reflection (although I am sure if you were only doing nct you would eventually get the same info just spread out).

Stephisaur · 17/09/2018 07:49

Ours is 1 day too @magicalcreatures. Ours said from 30 weeks so we’re going at 31 weeks (the dates worked better).

It’s a full day on the Sunday and then a Thursday afternoon for me for a breastfeeding class as part of it, and we get a tour of the birthing centre etc.

Hopefully it’ll be good!

faykceb · 17/09/2018 17:05

Anyone got there flu jab yet? Got mine this morning. Wanted to pre-empt the start of flu season.

December2018 · 17/09/2018 17:23

Faykceb I had mine on Friday and I felt really achy after mine... only the next day tho, how are you feeling after yours?

Athers666 · 17/09/2018 17:31

Not had my flu jab yet as they aren't available here until October but am having a whooping cough jab on Thursday.
Got my consultant appointment/growth scan tomorrow and feeling a bit nervous. Just hope the little dude is alright in there!

peachesarenom · 17/09/2018 17:58

I had my ehooping cough vaccine on fri, still hurts 😭

DoAsDreamersDo · 17/09/2018 19:36

I’m having my flu jab the same time as my whooping cough jab next week (thanks mw for suggesting that!) I’m not going to be able to move after, am I? I’ve only had the flu jab once before and it left me feeling quite ill so I’m not looking forward to it.

Stephisaur · 17/09/2018 19:42

I’ve never had a flu jab, but I’ll be having mine once my midwife tells me that it’s available 😂 seeing her next week so hopefully I can get it out the way soon!

faykceb · 17/09/2018 20:26

@Stephisaur - You can get a flu jab from boots. You just book appointment and it's free if your pregnant. I have one every year as work encourage us to (I work for nhs).

@December2018 My arm is quite sore now and I'm tired so reckon that's the flu jab working.

@peachesarenom Had whooping cough one about 3 weeks ago. Was really nasty arm hurt for weeks but luckily other than sore arm felt fine with it. How about you?

@DoAsDreamersDo - I wouldn't fancy having them both at the same time. Can't she stagger it? I have flu jab every year and sometimes feel a little rundown afterwards but it's variable as it's a different vaccine each year. This year it's got four things in.

peachesarenom · 17/09/2018 22:03

Totally the same faykceb

MagicalCreatures · 17/09/2018 22:56

Think I’m having mine at the same time as soon as the flu one becomes available in October.
Get it over and done with in one hit I say. Though I may regret my words later on. I’ll let you know 😂

AGirlinLondon · 18/09/2018 15:53

@fay thanks for the tip on boots! I am going tomorrow.

Someone in the office yesterday said I looked ‘enormous and knackered’. Went home and cried. I know they didn’t mean to be cruel but it really annoyed me!

December2018 · 18/09/2018 16:15

Omg I'm so sick of the
"OMG YOUR MASSIVE NOW" comments!
I swear I will never say these words to a pregnant woman!
Makes me feel fat and horrible, I tell my OH and he just says
"Your not fat your pregnant"
..... I didn't know my thighs and arse could be pregnant too....

AGirlinLondon · 18/09/2018 16:50

@December I hear you!!! It’s so rude. I would never dream of saying it to someone.

Just fed up of being fair game for office chatter.

My OH is trying so hard. He is a total hero even though I’m sure from the outside I look entirely irrational. It must be like living with an unexploded bomb!

Stephisaur · 18/09/2018 18:08

@December2018 ugh, yes. Why do people say this? Yes, I know I’m huge. The fact that I keep knocking things off my desk with my bump as I walk past kind of gives me a clue!

My ass must be pregnant too because I swear half of my knickers don’t cover it anymore. Poor DH just has to put up with me moaning all the time!

balalalala · 18/09/2018 18:31

How much is too much movement? The past 20 hours or so baby has been moving a ridiculous amount. Overnight I had to get up for an hour as I thought he was trying to burst out through my belly button! He's always been very active but this is ridiculous!

December2018 · 18/09/2018 18:38

It's horrible isn't it really gets me down..also another one..
I do home care and one of my ladies said to me yesterday in work
"What are you going to tell your baby about All your tattoos... or will you cover them up"
.... I was totally shocked!
Yes I have tattoos!... so does my OH and most of my family!
I'm a bit of a rocker... so what! My baby also likes a bit of Metallica if I'm honest
People can be so judgey and i never noticed this before pregnancy and I have to say I'm not a fan

December2018 · 18/09/2018 18:43

Balalalala
I think a lot of movement is a good thing 😊
Not at stupid o clock tho...
that's not fun!
This little dude has been throwing some major wobblers the last couple of days too...
my midwife told me once baby starts seeing light and hearing sounds it stimulates them and they move more.... must be true tho because as soon as I use my phone I think the light wakes him up... or if I'm watching tv he seems to wiggle and roll more, possibly a combination of lights and sounds

balalalala · 18/09/2018 20:08

Interesting! Maybe he was objecting to dh's snoring...? Lol

Athers666 · 18/09/2018 22:16

Had my growth scan today, all is well and they have no worries about his size. So relieved! Have to go back again in a month for another one but no concerns at present. Phew!

peachesarenom · 18/09/2018 22:37

That's awesome Athers666, remind me why you're having growth scans. I've got gestational diabetes so have to have them too. First one friday 28th. I'm very worried baby will be huge. Been trying my absolute best.

MagicalCreatures · 18/09/2018 22:38

@balalalala your quite abit ahead of me I think. Aren’t you about 29 weeks now. I read somewhere that baby’s movements get more and more right up until about 32 weeks which is when they stay about the same. So I’d say what your feeling is probably normal and baby is just a little wriggler.
Sorry you girls get upset about the ‘huge’ comments. It’s not nice for people to make judgements. Esp if that’s how it makes you feel.
Personally I couldn’t care less. I take it as a compliment as I couldn’t wait to get a proper bump so that it was more noticeable I hadn’t just eaten too many pies 😂
I’d feel cheated if I didn’t have a proper baby bump I could show off to the world and rub with love on a daily basis.
Just shrug off their comments coz people clearly don’t think before opening their mouths x

OP posts:
balalalala · 19/09/2018 07:01

@magicalcreatures yes, you're right, I am. Fingers crossed then! He wasn't so bad overnight last night so I slept much better!
I too keep getting the huge comments but I keep reminding myself that I'm 6.5 months pregnant and there's an actual baby in there! 75 days till due date today!

Cakelaur · 19/09/2018 08:37

This is litterally what I get all the time!! My OH and me just laugh when we think of moto moto and Gloria!!! So now I'm jokingly know as the hippo!! Haha!! But I kinda like it!! I'm obviously pregnant so it's all bump. But totally understand how it could get boring and rude!!
People can get so judgmental about shit that has no relevance to them!!

I'm quite enjoying pregnancy at the mo... almost 3rd trimester!! And I've booked a 3d scan for the weekend!! Eek!! So excited but also kinda nervous! Practically the whole family is coming so just hope little man is ok in there!!
