They gave me cocodamol but I feel a bit weird taking it as I felt like it slowed the babys movement down, probably was just me being paranoid though. I've stop taking it though and his kicks have got much stronger again I think.

MagicalCreatures · 11/09/2018 21:27

@peachesarenom I’m ok now Thankyou. Haven’t had anymore since. Sorry to hear you’ve had more. Are you sure it’s not the left over from before. I had light brown spotting for 3 days after and when I thought it had stopped after a good 12 hours of nothing, I had abit more again before it stopped completely.
@Athers666 sending love to you too Hun. What a stressful time.
@Stephisaur why is it your having growth scans again. I can’t remember? X x

@magicalcreatures notching on one of my arteries might restrict blood flow as I get bigger. Given that he was measuring 778g rather than the average 600g 2 weeks ago, I can’t say I’m worried at the moment 😂

MagicalCreatures · 11/09/2018 22:38

@Stephisaur ahh yes that was it. I remember now. So he’s already bigger then average anyway. That’s good. 🤞🏻 he keeps growing. Though not too fast 😂

I realised earlier that
@Cakelaur
@Stephisaur
@Irwe
(Sorry if I missed anyone)
You were all on the thread I started about TTC a Christmas baby and we shared our 2WW and positive pregnancy tests.
Made me all emotional 😂

I know! Our little Christmas puddings :’)

DHs family like to remind me that his cousin was 13lb when he was born. I was almost 10lbs, so it’s not like he’s going to be a very small baby 😂

MagicalCreatures · 12/09/2018 00:18

@Stephisaur Yikes. Ouch!!! 😳 Maybe big baby’s running in the family are a blessing in your case though with what’s going on.
We were all small babies but I have a feeling this little one is gonna be a whoppa 😂

Stephisaur · 12/09/2018 07:25

@magicalcreatures this honestly feels like a pregnancy of “maybes” rather than anything else 😂 he’s probably absolutely fine, just likes to cause a worry!

AGirlinLondon · 12/09/2018 13:30

Week 29. Symptom update:

  • gross restless leg twitching at night
  • poop schedule severely reduced
  • sleeping turning into a major difficulty - want to kill OH for snoring and waking at random times
  • can now only eat small meals (preferably junk food)
  • baby feels like he is trying to kick his way out

FUN TIMES GUYS

Gemsie1984 · 12/09/2018 14:12

27+3 here.. feel like I'm in no mans land at this stage of pregnancy. Suffering, too.
My symptoms at this stage, include:
•Restless legs
•Insomnia
•Constipation
•Acid Reflux
•SPD/PGP
•Dry Eyes
•Irritable Bladder
•Swollen Cankles
•Bleeding Piles

I'm so miserable. Got growth scan on Monday and then two weekly CTG's. After the initial panic that they were going to deliver him super early due to my health issues they've now adopted the 'wait and see' approach. This is despite the consultant scaring the shit out of me by saying my hypoxia could cause neurological deficit in baby, hence the frequent CTG's. I'm going to argue my case for 36-37 week induction as the PGP alone is so painful, despite the back/bump brace added to that my other issues I don't see why they'd keep him in longer than necessary if there's a neuro-developmental risk to baby..

kaytees · 12/09/2018 14:47

@peachesarenom that makes total sense you'd look to ELCS - you sound like you've really thought it through and yes with the bleeds there's no sense creating extra worry for yourself by risking dystocia etc! Hope you're doing okay.

@lipstickandgin I splashed out (literally, saved for a few months for it) on a bbhugme pillow and can honestly say I love it. I find myself carrying it round the house and using it even when I'm just watching tv!

@Gemsie1984 Oh I can't believe they've changed their minds after panicking you so much!!! Honestly, what a palaver. Definitely argue, PGP is hideous and you want that strain on your body and baby over and done with asap!

Athers666 · 12/09/2018 17:34

I have a growth scan next week and consultant appointment, is it as scary as it sounds? The letter says nothing at all about what to expect?

Stephisaur · 12/09/2018 19:50

@athers666 I had a growth scan and consultant appointment today.

Basically, they just took some measurements at the scan (so for me, I was told he weighs about 2lb 7oz at 26+2. Head and waist measure 1 week ahead, legs are 2 weeks ahead) and then the consultant just discussed that with me.

It was quite chilled out and it was nice to see the baby again :)

leanne9312 · 12/09/2018 19:54

Does everybody get a growth scan ? X

Athers666 · 12/09/2018 20:05

@stephisaur Thanks for that, it's good to know. And yeah, it will be nice to see the baby again! I just hope he's doing ok in there.
@leanne9312 I don't think everyone gets them no, mine is because my first baby was very tiny so I guess I'm at risk of it happening again. X

Stephisaur · 12/09/2018 20:26

@leanne9312 I’ve only got them because a couple of things have suggested that he might have inter uterine growth restriction. So far so good (he’s actually a bit big!) but they need to keep an eye on him x

AGirlinLondon · 12/09/2018 20:27

@Gemsie hang in there!!!!! I feel your pain! X

leanne9312 · 12/09/2018 20:46

@Athers666 oh I see thankyou
@Stephisaur that's good news! And hopefully all goes well x

Athers666 · 13/09/2018 22:36

Has anyone else just given up trying to sleep?! Waaaaah. I cannot get comfortable, lie on my side and he just kicks and kicks and kicks😂The only relief is to lie on my back as then it's less uncomfortable but I know that you're meant to sleep that way and I don't want to take any risks. Just want to sleeeeeepppp.

MrsTeaPlease · 13/09/2018 22:37

Hi all, sorry I've not been on for ages. Got logged out and then couldn't log back in for a while.
Just trying to catch up on where everyone is at!
I'm 27+2 and feel massive already. People keep asking me when I'm due like I'm going to say the next week or so and are shocked when I say I've got 12 or so weeks left!
Struggling with sitting up from laying down and getting up now because of bump. I've got spd but it doesn't seem to have got any worse the last 4 weeks or so so hoping I can manage as it is. We had a 4d scan about 2 weeks ago and got some fab pics. I really recommend doing it if anyone has the money too, it's an extra expense I know but very lovely. My 3 and a half year old actually enjoyed watching this one too as he could see the face and features, which was nice! I still haven't had a consultant appointment about my csection request yet, got referred to a vbac clinic accidentally and from there I now have to do an appointment with a consultant midwife to go over my last birth before I can put my foot down and get an actual consultant appointment. It's found to be the last few weeks before I actually get a firm answer and a date I think if I push enough. Is this normal? Doesn't help the anxiety much leaving it all so late!
Xx

December 2018 Babies - Thread #4
faykceb · 14/09/2018 07:29

@lipstickandgin think I might have a battle to get oh to agree to pebble plus rather than pebble as he loves to cut costs. Might just order it though and then he won't question it. Haven't got a clue on pushchairs though.

Saw midwife yesterday currently 28+5. Still concerned that baby is large but mainly because they can't seem to measure my bump at all! Still annoyed that my growth scan was blocked when they admit they are guessing the measurements and think baby is big. Midwife decided to refer me for a glucose test which I guess is something to rule out.

Had first NCT class last night. Is anyone else doing NCT?

Also need to book flu jab before cold and flu season hits.

Cakelaur · 14/09/2018 08:12

@faykceb we've got nct classes starting 15th October. Can't wait to meet all the other local mummies.

ND348 · 14/09/2018 09:11

I'm starting NCT 6th October and looking forward to it. Also doing the NHS ones mainly so I can understand what my local hospital policies are and hopefully get a look round as I'm midwife led by the community tram so currently don't even know where I'm meant to go when in labour!

faykceb · 14/09/2018 12:20

@ND348 and @Cakelaur I did the first NHS one last week was really informative and great to get a tour of the unit. Feel a lot more informed and less intimidated by it all.

NCT was great though was a bit nervous but nice to bond with peeps. Hoping that I can make some friends from the process. Great for the partner too as they spent a lot of time putting the men into groups and exploring their role. My partner is really quiet usually so great to hear him expressing his worries etc and getting support from other men.

Stephisaur · 14/09/2018 19:24

I’m doing NCT yoga which is fab, but our couples classes will be the NHS ones because they worked better with our schedules.

That sounds like we’re really important, we’re not 😂 we just needed a weekend class and the NCT classes by us are all weeknight
