kaytees I'm ok as I'm not currently bleeding and trying to be stoic and patient. I'm super worried about dystocia as I have a high BMI and diabetes and this week my sugar control has gone out the window even though I've been really careful. I'm worried baby will be really big and get his shoulder stuck Confused I've read a few scary stories which chime in with what my consultant said. How was your experience.

I hate the knicker check MagicalCreatures, what scare did you have? All ok now?

MagicalCreatures · 09/09/2018 23:21

@peachesarenom yeh everything seems ok. I had a nasty red bleed at 21+4 weeks. Ended up at Triage for an anti-d andche k but they couldn’t find any fresh blood and my cervix was closed. They said it could have been a burst blood vessel from the placenta. I just honestly thought it was all over in that instance. The only thing that gave me hope was that I had no pain or cramps x

Thank you @raysan1 .. it ended up 4am not 1am in the end but I think I am being over dramatic due to hormones etc! Just feeling a bit lonely at the moment!

kaytees · 10/09/2018 08:57

@peachesarenom patience is the hardest thing when pregnant, you're doing well! That makes sense you'd be worried about dystocia, there's a lot of scary stories about it which don't really help! I didn't have diabetes but my bmi was slightly over the healthy range, my son was just really big for no apparent reason. The actual delivery was great, the team knew exactly what to do and he didn't have any injuries as a result. I had a nasty tear which wasn't fun but as they used forceps it wasn't a surprise. My aftercare was rubbish though, so if it does happen to you make sure you get thoroughly checked out after. It wasn't an ideal experience but it didn't put me off having another baby, if that helps at all!

Sjb10 · 10/09/2018 10:33

@balalalala at my 20 weeks scan he was head down so that probably explains it. I have a scan tomorrow so will be interested to see what position he is in.

emwithme · 10/09/2018 13:16

DH is an absolute star. Was advised to start on Clexane injections today so off we went to see the Practice Nurse to learn how to do it.

So I'm sitting there, inch pinched (fortunately I have plenty of spare ones) and needle hovering and I Just Can't Do It. Fortunately he took over, injected me and then took the piss (nicely) about me being a giant wuss!

balalalala · 10/09/2018 14:00

Lovely having a very supportive husband @emwithme
I has my consultant appointment which went much better than the last one! Different consultant as think she was covering but she's referred me for growth scans as said her recommendation would change to c-section if this baby is measuring bigger than my last one. I think he's pretty much exactly the same at the moment so fingers crossed that continues. Gtt wasn't as bad as I expected but feeling a bit weak and sick this afternoon. Get the results back tomorrow so fingers crossed!

marthvader · 10/09/2018 17:22

@Ameliaclem @December2018 a little tip for the sociable OHs who roll into bed in the early hours... play a loud screaming baby noise to them at 7am and see how they cope. My OH regretted his 3am finish this weekend when I did that to him on Sunday morning 😂

Stephisaur · 10/09/2018 19:18

Evening ladies :) I’m just catching up. I’m much better on Facebook 😂

Can’t remember if I said, but I’m in for growth scans every 2 weeks now. This baby will bankrupt me in car parking costs alone 😂

Had my GTT today which wasn’t too bad, just a bit boring. Treated myself to a McDonald’s before I went back to work! Got my next scan on Wednesday, when I’ll be 26+3. Baby weighed 778g at 24+3 so I wonder how much he’s grown!

lipstickandgin · 10/09/2018 20:17

@Stephisaur is there a Facebook group? I think I would find it easier to keep up on there.

Does anybody have any recommendations for pregnancy pillows? I have a dreamgenii but i find it rubbish for supporting my back.

emwithme · 10/09/2018 20:37

I've got my GTT tomorrow and am planning a McDonald's on the way to work too.

Had my Aunty and Uncle's 60th Wedding Anniversary Party yesterday. Was lovely seeing all the family (we're 150 miles away from them). I say "all the family"...Uncle didn't come, he didn't want to! to his own bloody party Grin . Much of the chat was my cousins telling me to take ALL the drugs offered and then some!

Ameliaclem · 10/09/2018 22:24

Got a pregnancy pillow in Lidl the other day a big body one - oh my it’s amazing!

@marthvader lol that’s amazing might do that with the next hangover!!!

peachesarenom · 10/09/2018 23:26

Just had more spotting, DH said wait for results of tests tomoz but they said to call back if I get anymore

faykceb · 11/09/2018 07:45

@lipstickandgin I have one from John maman Bebe but doesn't have great back support unless you lie on your right. Has improved my sleep though.

Looking at buying a car seat this week. What a minefield that seems to be. Thinking of going maxi cosi pebble plus.

Stephisaur · 11/09/2018 11:46

@lipstickandgin ah, I was going to recommend the dreamgenii! I have the circle-y one from JoJo and can't stand it because it's too flat to get my head comfy on!

@0lgaDaPolga added me to the facebook group, so drop her a PM and I think she can add you :)

@peachesarenom sorry to hear that you're spotting again :( hope they can resolve it for you soon xx

0lgaDaPolga · 11/09/2018 12:48

@peachesarenom sorry to hear about the bleeding, that must be so scary but I’m glad it sounds like you are being well looked after and checked out.

Anyone wanting to join the Facebook group just drop me a pm with a link to your fb page or your full name and what your pic is of and I will be able to add you. I’m a lot better on fb too, I find it hard to keep up on here!

I’m starting to feel really big now and struggling to roll over in bed! I’ve got my 28 week midwife appointment tomorrow. I’m going to try and talk to them about the birth as I’m starting to get really worried. I won’t go into too much detail as I don’t want to scare anyone but my son’s birth didn’t go to plan and I had some complications. I’m getting nervous that there is no plan in place to prevent it from happening again and just want to make sure they are on top of it.

Athers666 · 11/09/2018 13:05

@peachesarenom Sending you best wishes. I hope you're ok you poor thing.
Am stuck on bed rest after my hospital trip with chest pains..thought I was going to die and was so scared. Now just got to rest up and wait. Nobody really knows the exact cause as they can't xray. Had three ecgs in two days, all came back normal but wasn't much fun at 3am 😣

December2018 · 11/09/2018 13:20

peachesarenom just sending you some virtual hugs and 💐
Any amount of bleeding is terrifying xxx

balalalala · 11/09/2018 13:26

@olga are you consultant led? I hope they can give you the reassurance you are after. I'm in a much better place now having had a positive consultant appointment yesterday and my 28 week midwife appointment today and feel much more confident about this time round.

AGirlinLondon · 11/09/2018 18:56

Hey @faykceb we got that one and I like it. It also fits on our pram

lipstickandgin · 11/09/2018 19:25

Thanks for the recommendations on pillows ladies. I might just turn my pillow around and use the long bit for my back and use a regular pillow under my bump.

@faykceb we went for the maxi cosi pebble, I wanted to go for the plus but it was just a little out of our price range and the isofix was really expensive too compared to the one for the pebble. I secretly wish I had put my foot down with the OH and had the plus!!

@0lgaDaPolga thank you will send you a message with the link to my fb.

@peachesarenom sorry to hear about your bleed, it is such a stressful thing to happen. Sending you virtual hugs Thanks

peachesarenom · 11/09/2018 20:01

I'm glad you're ok MagicalCreatures how do you feel about it now?

Thanks for your message kaytees it's good to hear your story. I think the risk of tearing/being cut is what really scares me. I think I'm veering towards an elective c-sec to be honest. I had a miscarriage previously. I've had a few scary unexplained bleeds and was admitted for 3 nights this summer and had an mri. I think it's fair to say things have been difficult so an elec c-sec could be the calm that I need.

Thank you for your kind words Stephisaur, 0lgaDaPolga and Athers666.

How are you now Athers?

peachesarenom · 11/09/2018 20:02

Thanks also to December2018 and lipstickandgin.

Athers666 · 11/09/2018 20:48

I'm not too bad thanks Peaches. The chest pain is still awful but has improved a tiny bit so I can move around a little without screaming now which is a relief!

peachesarenom · 11/09/2018 21:03

Oh my goodness! I hope it continues to get better. Have they asked you to take any asprin or anything?
