Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
MotherofZ · 15/06/2007 08:54

Skiaddle - not had morning sickness for 5 days....!! start of the 'bloom' I hope!!

NBuGgeration · 15/06/2007 09:02

Hope your ok Mad4. Sounds awful, you poor thing.

I'm going to have a read back as I've missed loads.

I've got to go and pick up some crutches today from the hospital as am in agony with SPD.
Its not all the time but when it is here it bloody hurts and I'm struggling to walk.
I'm also getting it double checked by the dr on monday as the MW said its very early to get it. I personally think that its something to do with how I delivered ds last year and the position the dr put me in the stirrups.

becklespeckledfrog · 15/06/2007 10:22

Hello all, hope everyone okay! Have managed to post pic of my little tadpole on my profile!
Mad4Girls, poor you with your toothache and sickness - sounds truly awful and hope the Dentist can sort it for you.
Castanet - Twins! Wow! Scary and exciting all in one go!
Caz - I found a good indicator of when the uterus has moved up to be when you don't wake up in the night desparate for the loo anymore! I wasn't desparate yesterday monring and thought I could feel it over my pelvis but up in the night last night and still desparate this morning so don't reckon mine has moved right up yet!
NBG ouch for your SPD, I never knew what a common thing it was but it sounds awful. My friend got it at around 16 weeks with her last pg so I think you can get it quite early.
Well I am definitely feeling less ill! Still off of lots of foods and don't feel great in the evenings but I don't feel terrible in the evenings anymore and last night I managed to eat most of a bowl of pasta! (the main thing I have been off of). My hair is not too bad and my nails are lovely but unfortunately my skin has not cleared up yet! Not quite blooming yet but getting podgy enough that people are starting to look at me a bit funny now!

jinxed · 15/06/2007 10:30

Beckle - you are in my neck of the woods! See you are CO10, Im CO2!

Hope all ok with everyone, was a bit piggy last night, treated myself to a box of Milk Tray - and promplty ate all the non-nut ones in one go! OOOOPS!

becklespeckledfrog · 15/06/2007 11:46

Oooh Jinxed, looks like you are 30-40 minutes or so from me! Not come across a fellow MNetter anywhere near me before!

THere are a few of us in this area - Dior i have met - she is lovely.

IS CO10 really 30 mins away? Jeez!

becklespeckledfrog · 15/06/2007 14:22

Yes I think it is, I am about 20-25 minutes from Colchester (depending on traffic) and Google Maps put you on the other side of it to me! Perhaps in the summer hols we could get some peeps together for a picnic or something?

Loucee · 15/06/2007 14:39

Hello ladies

Castanet - wow Twins, that's fantastic! With the amount of us due in December I'm surprised there's not more multiple pregnancies.

Mad4 - have you tried clove oil? I'm not 100% sure it's safe during pregnancy but a quick google should tell you. I am pathetic at the dentist and have often used clove oil for weeks to help me through pain.

Had my 12 wk yesterday, dates are right and I'm 13+4, my next appointment isn't until 28wks! MW said it's because it's my 2nd baby. seems ages away, might be tempted to buy a doppler.

Neuro · 15/06/2007 17:13

Hello everyone!
Had my scan this afternoon and everything looks great. So happy and sort of awestruck as now it feels real. I am 12 weeks tomorrow, and my nuchal thingy said i was low risk. The scan lady was very characterful and when i said so i can skip the amnio she raised her eyebrows at me and said you are young, 45 is old and that i'd be more at risk of killing it with an amnio than having a baby with abnormaities. I said to her that's great to hear someone say that as i feel there is so much scaremongering in the media towards us 30 somethings who are having first chilren that's it's got us all excessively worried.
It'd be more fair if the media referred to men AND women in their 30's not to leave it too late as it seems now that men do have a clock ticking after all. Its all very well being able to produce sperm when you're 60, but it's not going to be v good quality...
Anyway, really overjoyed and feel phew, one furlong over, some more big ones still to jump!
My scan photo is very clear and the baby looked like it was practising it's boxing. I shalll post it on my profile in a week or two when i've got round to it.
Oh and have added myself to the list now.
Have a good weekend all X

great news neuro - glad is all is well - completely agree with the scaremongering - as I see it, once I am pg, that is my baby and that is all I need to know (don't mean to offend those that do choose to have extra scans/tests)

Are we all in the safe zone now? officially blooming???

jinxed · 15/06/2007 17:29

blooming? blooming?

try blooming awful!

Boobs hanging out over my bras (need to get measured again it seems!) hair is a mess and uncontrollable and skin looks like a pizza!

Roll on birth!

Neuro · 15/06/2007 17:37

Thank you!
Can't stop staring at the scan photo though.
Am a bit stunned. Think it's because I've wanted a baby so long now it's here i can't believe it!
Got a week off work now so plenty of navel gazing (literally) coming up!
Xx

skidaddle · 15/06/2007 17:52

sorry jinxed - your blooming day will come!

Castanet · 15/06/2007 20:26

Thanks! Yep, exiting and terrifying, the twins are. Apparently mine are dichorionic and diamniotic which means they have their very own 'compartments', i.e. own placentas and amniotic sacs. This makes the pregnancy less risky which is a good news. Am really worried about CVS on coming Thursday as they must stab me twice to get both samples and there's higher risk for mc. My nuchal scan was good but I need to know for sure that everything is OK.

Bouncingturtle · 15/06/2007 20:45

Mad4girls, glad you went to to doc, are you feeling any better? How did you get on at the emergency dentist?

Hey everyone hope you are all okay, hope you have a good weekend. DH and I are often to London this weekend.

NBuGgeration · 15/06/2007 21:46

Anyone wanting new bras, theres a sale on at Blooming Marvellous and their maternity bras are a great price atm.

mad4girls · 15/06/2007 23:33

hello ladies

sorry its a bit late but felt much better today and so had to catch up on all those jobs round the house that i was too ill to do yesterday although dp did sort out washing and kids did the dishes (well attempted had to rinse em all again but the thought was there they only 7 and 4)

well got to dentist first thing and they said defo infection think i noticed when my face all swollen this morning, anyway they gave me antibiotics but want me to have the tooth out next week under local

not sure if i can face that as normally have to have ALL treatmenmt under a general ie put to sleep but thinking i might have a go as the chap was very nice and undertstanding and the nurse was one id got chatting to when id took dd for her teeth the other day so it was nice to see a friendly face, also he said i could have dp there holding hand etc and earplugs in or music if i liked, also i dont fancy the idea of it coming back again while pregnant i was really crying like a baby yesterday

what do you think? has anyone had this done, this is what happened to me as a child and scared the life out of me so much i wont go to dentist for love or money this is the 1st time in 4 yrs ive been and the last time was only to be refred to hospital to be put to sleep

on a better note i have felt less anxious in last few yrs with having to force myself to go (to take the kids since dh buggered off and not wanting to show them any fear) do you think this is a good idea or could it make my fear worse if its a bd experience. any advice is much appreaciatted.

sorry for waffling on

hope everyone else is well

neuro congrats on your scan

buzzybee · 16/06/2007 04:32

Thought I'd add myself in!
I must be almost the last to have a scan - Tue for me. Am taking DD since like Neuro I have no DP (hope I've got that right Neuro?!!) and she's almost more excited than me if that's possible. Today we were at a curtain fabric place picking up some fabric for my living room and DD was busy picking out fabric for the baby's room! (this blue one if its a boy and this other flowery one if its a girl..!)
I have a mild prolapse uterus normally so know that the uterus has moved up now since there's no "lump inside" anymore (sorry if thats TMI...). Also not feeling nearly so much pressure down low in the pelvis as I was. I don't really think I'm showing much tho yet - although tried on some normal work pants in a sale yesterday thinking they'd be nice to look forward to wearing later and my regular 14 was VERY snug around the waist although quite loose around the bum so perhaps I'm wrong

Nope I haven't had a scan yet - had a EPAU scan very early just to check and was blob with heartbeat - have been really bad needed to register with new GP (due to bloody exOW being with my GP and really didn't fancy bumping into her at midwife or HV clinics) haven't got round to it for ages and hence haven't even seen midwife yet (I know) just not as excited as with DD thanks to DH shenanigans and ex OW being due (DH baby) in few weeks
Finally registered and have appt with midwife wed week but having private nuchal scan next wed Hopefully will start to feel more positive when I see little chicken in more detail - doesn't help still throwing up like a trooper managed to pee myself whilst puking last night was so violent (sorry TMI )and DD was in tears as think I frightened her throwing up solidly for 10 min

buzzybee · 16/06/2007 10:03

Sorry to hear that macdoodle...had no idea. Bl**dy new partners of ex Hs are a pain aren't they?!! Old news now but my ex-H ran off with his secretary and she's still so paranoid 4 years on that he'll come back to me that she refuses to let me do anything with DD when she's with ex-H (DD is with him 1 week then with me 1 week, has been since we split - works really well for her) as that might mean he'd have to see me more often. I was supposed to have the scan last week but had to move it to this week so that DD could come with me.
MS sounds awful. I don't suffer tooo badly but now things have moved "up" am getting quite bad reflux and that can only get worse!
When I had DD in London I never even registered with a GP, just bowled up to the local community clinic which had 6 midwives and you just got whoever was on duty. Worked fine for me - they referred me for scan etc.

macdoodle · 16/06/2007 12:34

Thanks buzzy much more complicated than that (there is a thread on relationships somewhere) but he is no longer with her - he left her - came back to me - she stalked him - he got her pregnant (tosser)- left her got me pregnant (foolish me) - and still wants to come home - we are living seperately he still wants to come home but thinks he can have relationship with her baby (he can't because she is barking and is already using it as little tool poor kid not even born yet and conceived for that very purpose) - so all in all a mess - very much wanted this baby 2 years ago (no luck then) so am trying to be happy and pleased (and I am and it is very much wanted and loved)but all a bit of a struggle

tabimum · 16/06/2007 13:08

I feel for you macdoodle and buzzybee - bl*y men!

Does anyone have experience of VBAC? Had disasterous labour with DD, with undiagnosed breech - despite being in labour for 36 hours and having countless reassurances of her head being engaged (was actually her bum) - and ended up with emergency c. Am being given option of another C, or try VBAC. Given my EDD of 27/12 I am wondering if c a week before will guarantee I am home with new bubba the week before Xmas, but fairly immobile, or to be brave and try for VBAC, with the risk of being in labour over Xmas? So many of you are in similar boat with regards possible labour over Xmas - just trying to get other opinions!!

macdoodle · 16/06/2007 13:15

Hard one what do you want are you worried about labout then go for planned CS if you are desperate for a "normal" birth (WTF that is?? ) then try VBAC ....
Personally the lure of being all sorted and home for xmas would be tempting - am worried about MW shortages and busy labour wards over xmas and am usually pretty unorganised wrapping presents xmas eve will have to be better this year or will be one disappointed 6 year old - she will not be fobbed off as baby as xmas present
