Hello all and welcome to this month's thread!!
Let's all stop feeling sick and start expanding now

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Furrymummy · 11/06/2007 06:49

Goodness, glad it isn't just me that has rapidly expanded. DH says I have a definite bump, albeit a small one. Surprise he can tell through my spare tire lol.
Got my dating scan tomorrow!!! Can't wait as confess so be somewhat worried over last few days due to brown discharge (which seems to have stopped now). Today feel sick and tummy feels very tender.

Nbg · 11/06/2007 07:14

thelady, they told me my placenta was anterior too but I am almost sure they were flutterings I felt.
Dont know if thats because this is my 3rd or what, or even if the placenta has moved now?
Can it do that already?

Mad4, new week now

Glad to hear everyone is expanding now too

buzzybee · 11/06/2007 08:25

Thanks for the nice welcome!
I must admit I find it hard to tell if what I feel is baby or wind bubbles!
I'm now having the nuchal scan next Tue so fingers crossed for the results as I'm 37 now so 5 years older than last time...
No real sign of major expansion yet but won't be surprised if it happens all of a sudden. Some days seem to feel less tired then others I'm dead beat by 7pm.
Is anyone else having very vivid dreams? Not about the baby specifically but all sorts of things - that you can remember the next day. Very weird.

buzzybee · 11/06/2007 08:28

Sorry angelhunter forgot to say I'm in Wellington. I wish I could have mine due a week earlier! DD started coming on her due date (arrived next day) tho so I'm not banking on that.

Furrymummy · 11/06/2007 08:38

Has anyone else's skin become drier as well? It's particulaely noticable om my arms where the skin is looking flaky! I had a shower last night with some moisturising shower gel andf my body puff, guess I'm going to have to be quite strict in ensuring I put some moisture cream on afterwards as well (normally I'm too lazy lol).

Nbg · 11/06/2007 09:13

BuzzyBee, fwiw I could never ever work out the first signs of kicks with my other 2 pregnancies. I only knew when I got good hard kicks and that wasnt till I was around 20 weeks.
So this time its been nice to recognise them.

Have been getting the dreams too but not as frequently now.
I wonder if its a first trimester thing?

peanutbutter · 11/06/2007 09:29

morning everyone, welcome buzzybee.

I very foolishly got burnt yesterday in the hot sunshine . My arms are so sore I couldn't put them under the shower this morning. Only recently read a rather frightening story in Healthy magazine about malignant melanomas...i really need to start remembering to pack suncream for myself as well as ds.

on a happier note, i've got my scan tomorrow! I'm just longing to hear the words "I can see the heartbeat" so I know this little one has made it through the first trimester.

jinxed · 11/06/2007 09:36

Morning all!

Right - tmi question coming up....

Anyone else leaking from the boobs yet? I know i leaked early with DD1 (about 22 weeks) but im 16 weeks today.... its colustrum looking and my word my nipples hurt!

im officially a fat bloater though - huge bump!

MW on wednesday, although not really looking forward to my swabs... bloomin MRSA!

imsomean · 11/06/2007 09:49

morning all and welcome all the newbies - the more the merrier..

glad to hear there are other expanding waistlines - I have a HUGE belly and will need maternity clothes very soon but hate shopping and keep putting it off. Huge belly is also quite soft unlike last time when it was nice and hard , ah well..

I think I have heard the baby move too but not too sure. Also feeling the strain on my pelvis floor ALREADY!! Is anyone else? Doing lots of squeeze Louise exercises to combat it!

Housemum · 11/06/2007 10:04

Buzzybee - know what you mean about vivid dreams - I wake up exhausted from some of them - last night's involved a v complicated plot, some magic truth serum, the car from "Cars", Trevor & Simon, Princess Fiona from Shrek, my old school and me being on some kind of quest to put things righ...

FurryMummy - my skin is usually quite dry but the legs are really dry at the mo - not good. Have been slapping on loads of moisturiser.

Jinxed - i didn't leak with either of my pregnancies but I did read a few weeks ahead in one of my books (I think it was "What to Expect...") and that definitely mentioned booby leaks at around 16 weeks as I remember being surprised!

V jealous of those of you who are a few weeks ahead of me and feeling flutterings! It feels so much more real when you feel her/him moving around. I still have days when I can forget about it for a while then just think "wow, I'm pregnant" (obviously I can't forget when I get dressed in the morning as nothing bloody fits - too fat for most of my stuff, too small for some maternity wear. Last straw was when I was packing for this weekend camping and didn't have a pair of shorts that fitted - DH offered me his! I could just about wear them without them falling down too, which was worse....)

Nbg · 11/06/2007 11:56

Jinxed, I hope that doesnt mean I'm going to start leaking then!
It was Saturday night when I had got out the shower and I thought, OMG my boobs are huge lol

I think I threw the spare breast pads I had out!
Bloody typical.

Furrymummy · 11/06/2007 13:24

NBG - got my scan at 11am tomorrow!! Let's pray for 2 heartbeats, one for you and one for me
I have had a scan at 8+5, but I'm still very nervous about tomorrow.

Neuro · 11/06/2007 13:50

Hello everyone!
Am I still a newbie? I don't know.
Sorry to hear of those feeling dodgy. I've just turned a corner and feeling quite good today which is some relief. Have even taken my seasickness bands off - was starting to be come psychologically attached to them. I've just about squeezed into my skinny jeans this morning, i feel like i'm trying to hold onto my old body now for as long as poss. I've also been pampering and painting nails this weekend, so i think that's helped me to feel better.
I'm 12 weeks now and feel happy to have reached this point, but in the absence of sick feelings now just feel really apprehensive. It's all still so nerve wracking. I have my scan this Friday and nothing else seems of any importance until then. But just keeping really busy at work and almost have a new found zest for my job - am i unconsciously trying to be the best manager i can so that they'll really miss me when i'm gone and welcome me back with open arms? I hope so! I've yet to tell them i am preg.
I went to the beach yesterday and felt so cool with my new breasts. Unfortunately i went down early so no one to admire me!
Have a nice Monday everyone X

Neuro · 11/06/2007 13:56

Re my skinny jeans, don't want to sound boastful or offend those who clothes are starting not to fit. My other jeans don't fit, and my skinny ones have elastacine in them. My arse does look a bit wide though!
And Housemum I still can't believe I am pregnant. When i'm not feeling apprehensive about the baby i spend huge amounts of time thinking THIS IS THE COOLEST THING EVER, I'm growing another human being. It is too exciting some days.

Beanstermummy · 11/06/2007 14:33

Hi Folks

Lots of messages as usual since I last was on. Following my last AHHHHH message I have calmed down a touch. MW appt on Friday started off as I suspected - no record of us supposed to be there, no scan notes, etc............but, eventually they sorted out and I saw a lovely lady who really listened to what we wanted and what had happened so far. She reckons Doctor is rubbish and the blood test you have with the combined Nuchal is the same one they do at 16 weeks (so bollox to the doctor who said it couldn't possibly be as it could only be done at 16 weeks!!) and also was really appologetic about the crap treatment we'd had at the 12 wk scan - as if we were interupting their tea break basically!

Anyway - am now far more chilled out so am just going to wait and see a bit longer. DH is really against getting any help (Private MW or Doula) but think ultimately he would go with what I wanted.

As for this weekend - hectic but fun - and yes, peanutbutter - how sore are bright red shoulders!!!! and feet for me too - was so bothered about making sure DD was sorted for suncream sort of forgot about myself!

Chaos work wise, but in a way good, as it gives me something to think about and pass the time

Happy thoughts to you all and hello to newbies

peanutbutter · 11/06/2007 15:10

Ouch beanstermummy - burnt feet!

skidaddle · 11/06/2007 15:55

afternoon all, glad to see everyone is feeling bright and sunny and tummys are expanding fast - mine too

neuro - I love how into this you are - it IS amazing that we're growing a new life inside us! Just don't seem to think about it much 2nd time round - maybe having one makes you a bit blase - good for you to be here to remind us though

Neuro · 11/06/2007 17:03

Skidaddle as time goes i'm only gonna get worse! You'll all be sick of me. I work in an office of men so i won't be squealing outloud when I feel it kick etc. Neuro hopes it gets that far
Today i've had some sublte period like pains, but nothing too bad. And my boobs, some strange feelings going on there...

becklespeckledfrog · 11/06/2007 17:12

Hello all! Scan went well on Friday, I was absolutely terrified lay there in the scan room with my hands over my eyes. It took all of about 10 seconds for the sonographer to find baby and say all was fine and I sobbed. The scan was soo clear and baby was waving its arms and legs and wriggling around - phew! Got a lovely scan pic (which I will try and work out how to attach to my profile) and all is well so far. Not told DSs yet, am going to see if MW will test for HB at around 14 weeks and if it is there then I will tell them.
Hope everyone else is okay - good luck for your scans tomorrow Furrymummy and Peanutbutter!
I know it sounds daft as I am only 11 weeks but I am sure I have felt the odd flutter deep down in my pelvic area (usually when legs are curled up). My friend used to be a nurse and did some ante-natal work said it is possible to feel it quite early, especially if you are slim and you have had babies before (this will be my 3rd) as the muscles in the uterus are not as tight as they used to be. I'm not sure I'm convinced but it is still nice to feel (just in case!). My friend also swears she felt hers as early as 9 or 10 weeks. Can't wait to feel proper flutters in a few weeks!

Caz10 · 11/06/2007 18:58

Hello all!

And waaaaaah to those who are feeling flutterings, that is amazing! I think all my imagined "bubbles" are just wind sadly, too far up. Where do you start to feel the baby, down low?

Those who have a low lying placenta how did you find that out, at 12 week scan? My scan person never said a word re mine, but to be honest I'd be surprise if the 30 seconds we were on screen was long enough for her to tell anything!

Have Ebay-d lots of maternity clothes and my friend gave me a bundle too, the baby-on-a-shoestring project starts here with no new maternity clothes, sob! (apart from my wonderful bump bands though).

Spoke to a friend down south today who went private for the whole thing this time last year (rich sods!) and WHAT a difference, I am so jealous!

Oh, I think I am starting to get that funny line up the middle of the tummy thing, anyone else?!

Furrymummy and all others, good luck with upcoming scans! Beanstermummy glad things are looking up with your MW etc. It is such a lottery eh? We are prob about 2 hours from you and so far all has been great if you don't count grumpy scan lady.

Hope everyone is as well as they can be with ms, leaky boobs, sore tummies in too tight trousers....

Caz10 · 11/06/2007 19:00

Oh crossed posts - congrats becklespeckledfrog!!

macdoodle · 11/06/2007 19:32

Hi all sorry but highly unlikely for any of us to feel any movements yet - not out of pelvis till 14 weeks more likely wind or ligaments stretching
11 +1 today and just emptied my stomach contents AGAIN (looked and smelt like shit sorry TMI I know) - am well and tuly fed up - cycle of eat sandwhich puke sandwhich is not makign me happy bunny just about getting through work though think am feeling less tired - lots going on at home so just overall fed up and keep apologising to my little bump (chicken 2).....don't want to stress it out but not the happy chlled mummy I was first time round

cazzybabs · 11/06/2007 19:35

macdoodle - some of us are more like 15+a few days/16 weeks so we should be starting - I admit we are the should not really be here thread!

I am feeling sad today - all stuff is in boxes ready for move tomorrow. The end of a era and the start of another!

PeckaRolloverAgain · 11/06/2007 19:38

My scan is tomorrow wooooooooooooooooooo

I think everything in pregnancy varies. I can definitely feel my womb out of the pelvis now and I am 12 weeks. Maybe it can happen sooner with subsequent kids? This is my 3rd.

macdoodle · 11/06/2007 20:19

Agree pecka I def have bump (??) this my second - apparantly the ligaments muscles etc are already stretched so just bounce back out even though the baby is still tiny and uterus itself still in pelvis - def DID NOT have bump at this stage before really struggling with clothes ....
