hello

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
foxybrown · 30/05/2007 15:14

Well today I did a 50 minute workout of body-mill, treadmill, bike, handweights and floor work. OK, it was about 3 minutes on each thing and 2kg weights, but hey! Then I snuck out (against the rules as kids in the creche!) to Greggs bakers and I've just scoffed an iced ring donut (GOD SO GOOD!) and am enjoying a hot chocolate in the cafe whilst on here!

have about 10 minutes left.

I am going to get seriously depressed when you all start to have your babies! I hope yours comes on Friday Derlor!

DesperateDerlor · 30/05/2007 15:17

Foxy I RESPECT you greggs!!!

DaisysGotSausageFeet · 30/05/2007 15:19

at the do'nut Foxy....but how the hell do you manage to exercise at this stage.....I just don't have the energy and my hips/pelvis are just sore sore sore

DesperateDerlor · 30/05/2007 15:22

as for as i'm concerned a workout at this stage is: getting out of bed, having a shower then getting dressed
so technically i have a workout EVERY morning

riabutterflew · 30/05/2007 15:34

I feel much better thanks. After the lunch fight they got into trouble ans so went to bed, and I managed about an hours sleep (not nearly enough but a start) and a bath before my MW appt. Then I saw the loveliest MW ever who was happy to answer questions and explain things etc.
Am now having a sit down.

I think the boys are killing each other in the garden. Beans on toast for tea - can't be arsed to cook!

DH is V unhappy, might risk giving him a hug later!

Will have to get onto the issue of getting a good book...

DaisysGotSausageFeet · 30/05/2007 15:34

I did have a good old bounce on my ball today....that counts...doesn't it?

DaisysGotSausageFeet · 30/05/2007 15:35

Glad you're feeling a bit sunnier now Ria....

BadZelda · 30/05/2007 15:48

FUCK

would it kill the midwife to ever be on time for ANYTHING or at least give SOME indication of when she might arrive? Have now been waiting ALL afternoon for her to turn up with this BLOODY homebirth box after wasting my whole FUCKING afternoon waiting in the doctor's surgery for waiting for her to turn up for yesterday's appointment. I DON'T CARE IF YOU'RE BUSY YOU STUPID BITCH, A TEXT MESSAGE WITH ETA WOULDN'T FUCKING KILL YOU OR THE FUCKING NHS. And whilst I'm on the subject, NO midwife has EVER been on time for ANY of the pitifully few appointments I've had during this pregnancy. What is their FUCKING problem? Ok, ok, they're probably overworked, but does that mean that they should be excused from BASIC GOOD MANNERS?

If I EVER treated my clients that way, they'd be fully justified in firing me and getting someone else!

Aaannnd breathe. And relaaaaax.
Seriously - I'm just going to fuck off out in a minute - and she can go screw herself!

BadZelda · 30/05/2007 15:51

Am just cranky because the SECOND I lay down for a rest after doing all the chores child woke up from her nap, and I feel guilty letting her watch telly. To be fair she is now happily amusing herself, but rather disappointed we didn't get to go to the horniman as promised today...which given we've been sat in the house waiting for MW since noon, we'd have had plenty of time to do. ARRRRRRRRSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEE cabin fever.

trendaverter · 30/05/2007 15:53

Afternoon all!

Sorry to hear about your rubbish day Ria

Derlor I am next in line, will be if you are next! I want mine out, I can't hardly walk any more!

My mum came round today, she lives a good 2 hours away, we had a lovely pub lunch and said it's the last time she will see me as just me, next time I will be 'mum'. Was a weird realisation.

foxybrown · 30/05/2007 15:59

Whats wrong with this? have written two posts and they've disappeared. Oh well.

Sounds lovely TA! Funny how becoming a mum affects our relationships with our mums.

foxybrown · 30/05/2007 16:01

Sorry BZ, I had written in sympathy with your plight. You've had the shittiest deal with your MWs. What is it with them? Wouldn't want to be in her shoes when she does get there!

Hope you are feeling calmer now!

BadZelda · 30/05/2007 16:15

Not much...as she's just left a message (and no return number) to say they've run out of HB boxes, so she's not coming today...she might make it down tomorrow.
Have just phoned community midwives office and told them they can stick their fucking box up their capacious arses! As I'm not supposed to open it anyway (has sutures, gloves, etc) they can bloody well bring it with them! There's no way I'm spending the whole afternoon waiting for her again tomorrow. Actually the (irish) midwife who answered the phone was quite understanding - maybe just a familiar voice was enough to calm me down. Still fucking pissed off though. And now too late to go out anywhere with DD.

BadZelda · 30/05/2007 16:18

Yeah...don't even talk to me about mums....still haven't heard anything from mine. As far as she's concerned I became a 'selfish bitch' when having my own children...and was no longer around for her to manipulate and control...quick someone cheer me up before I start smashing windows!

Actually - better take my bad mood away for a bit...

BadZelda · 30/05/2007 16:19

So Foxy...fancy a trip to the horniman tomorrow?

foxybrown · 30/05/2007 16:20

So when did she realise they'd run out of boxes and what do they expect you to do???

That's appalling! You can guarentee that when you do go into labour the MW will turn up expecting to find you have the kit already, then it'll be a right palaver getting one at 3am.

Am very for you!

DaisysGotSausageFeet · 30/05/2007 16:20

BZ at the ineptitude of your MWs...have you called to see what's kept her?

My peace is now shattered...DS home again and looking very sooty after having been to a minimg museum. He's tired and happy, so the rest of the day shouldn't be too much of a bind!

And the bonus is that the same friends are going to amuse him tomorrow morning by taking him swimming whilst I'm at the MWs.

What have I done to deserve such good friends, and how do I ever make it up to them?

Becoming a mum has made me very aware that I'm turning into my own bloody mother

foxybrown · 30/05/2007 16:21

That's not a bad idea! What's on at the mo? I need to talk to DP to see if he needs the car, but if I have it, then yeah!

foxybrown · 30/05/2007 16:22

Oh I hope I don't turn into my mother!

DaisysGotSausageFeet · 30/05/2007 16:22

Oops x-posted BZ...that's shit.

Tell them you'll be in on such and such a day and tell them to deliver it then...

..or could you pick it up from their offices?

and to satisfy my curiosity, whats the horniman???

foxybrown · 30/05/2007 16:24

Its a museum in SE London. Its recently had a refurb and is great, has gardens, kids activities. Used to just be a few faded stuffed animals from what I remember.

DaisysGotSausageFeet · 30/05/2007 16:24

If DH thinks I'm getting a bit too close to her ways for comfort, he starts to call me J. It snaps me right out of it every time

DaisysGotSausageFeet · 30/05/2007 16:27

That's given me an idea....I might take DS to the Royal Armouries on Friday.....free to get in and lots of guns and swords and uniforms to keep him happy, with jousting competitions and sword fighting and fencing demos.....a little boys dream!

foxybrown · 30/05/2007 16:28

I actively try NOT to be like my mother, but sometimes I slip into her ways with regard to being a 'wife'.

DesperateDerlor · 30/05/2007 16:31

OH BZ i'm for you - when i'm on my visits i always give an hours aprox arrival ie between 10-11am if i'm going to be late or not going to make it i ALWAYS call it's just manners as far as i'm concerned - how improtant does the midwife think she is - like you've got nothing better to do than sit in and wait for her
I'd call them back and ask if you could just collect the HB box at YOUR convienience instead - surely they can leave it at reception for you (when they get one) and you could just pick it up??
Anyway HORNIMAN???? is that for real?!?!?!?!
Ria glad you feeling a bit better x
