hello

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
BadZelda · 30/05/2007 16:31

www.horniman.ac.uk/ is the website: Ella loves the jellyfish exhibition (they've a nice little aquarium there). It's free to get in, and good fun rain or shine as they have a little farm outside as well. Think I'll head there for about half ten anyway, so if any other south londoner's fancy it would be sweet to see you there. zx

BadZelda · 30/05/2007 16:34

Have already tried picking it up yesterday...but it had been opened so she wouldn't give it to me (fair enough). Derlor - I wish they were all as considerate as you...sadly I guess they're so headless round this way that basic considerations go out the window.

foxybrown · 30/05/2007 16:38

I'll email or come on here and let you know in the morning BZ. But if you see a heavily pg woman with 3 small blond children ranging from 5 - 2, say hello! I know what you look like, as I've seen your website!

foxybrown · 30/05/2007 16:43

OK, tea time. hauling my butt off the sofa.

Derlor, what's the betting my Hotel Chocolate order is all white chocolate? Yuk! I'll send it to you if it is!

Have you finished yours yet?

DesperateDerlor · 30/05/2007 16:49

ate my last choc yesterday - DH ate a fair amount of it too and i even gave some away!!!!!!!!!! (only cause it was a wee 6 box of chocolate gingers yyuucckkkk!!) gave them to MIL as a kind gesture

Twiga · 30/05/2007 16:52

Hi, just quickly nipping in to say hello while dinner on the go. Bit of a scare monday morning when I blacked out getting dd into her buggy to go out. Had been feeling dizzy and headachy most of the week before, so thought a trip to doc in order. Nothing serious in the end thank goodness just a severe UTI. Been feeling puky and tired but anti-bs now kicking in so feeling bit brighter today. Lovely dh took day off yesterday to look afer dd so I could just chill and relax. Early night needed tonight too as very tired but hoping now over the worst. Anymore babies arrived?

DaisysGotSausageFeet · 30/05/2007 16:52

Chocolate gingers are my all time favourite...yum yum

DaisysGotSausageFeet · 30/05/2007 16:56

Hi Twiga....glad you're feeling better....no more babies since Lilkel last week, but lots of hopeful ladies sitting about getting bored.

Did you decide on a c-section or not? I'm listening to Case Notes on R4 at the moment which is quite interesting....

Or am I confusing you with someone else?

DesperateDerlor · 30/05/2007 16:57

ho Twigga glad you're OK now that must have been a bit scary huh! and no, no more babies yet (drums fingers impatiently)
Daisy any further choc gingers i get will be lovingly forwarded onto you - don't want MIL getting the wrong impression now do we???

DesperateDerlor · 30/05/2007 16:59

oops i meant Hi Twiga NOT Ho Twigga - sorry

DaisysGotSausageFeet · 30/05/2007 16:59

DesperateDerlor · 30/05/2007 17:04

right, best move my fat ass and make some tea DH out on a 15 mile bike ride (as you do!) so will be like a caveman needing fed when he gets in. later x

riabutterflew · 30/05/2007 17:10

Am on your behalf BZ. Hope they sort something out without messing you about tomorrow. (I feel guilty now about having seen such a lovely MW earlier.) The museum sounds fun, hope you and DD enjoy it.

I will have to try a trip to the armouries this year. We sometimes make it to NRM in York, but when you've been more than once...

Re becoming our mothers. I have and that's why I can't stop cleaning things. Hopefully though I will continue getting like her as we both get older as she is now completely mad, internationally jet set, has a wicked sense of humour and doesn't clean things as much as she used to. So long as DH doesn't turn in to his dad I'll be happy!

Might have to feed the little sods, back later.

bumperlicious · 30/05/2007 17:26

Hi all, hope you are having a good half term.

BZ sorry you have had such a wasted day. I haven't had much luck with midwives this pg either so sympathies.

Ria - I wish you would just sit down and give yourself a break! You are going to be flat out once this baby is born, and I know you have DCs already and I can't imagine how you manage but please try and take things easy! Can you drop your DCs at your parents for a couple of hours so you can GET SOME REST (not clean the house)? Don't burn yourself out before this LO comes. I'm not just saying this because I feel guilty for being such a lazy arse myself! But you really must take a break

lilKelBel · 30/05/2007 18:00

sorry a bit belated but can I just say how very relieved I am that our boy Gordon was unable to shoot bambi or swallow the EBMaccino last night? What a hero. How he is going to manage killing those dear sweet lambs though I dunno...

sending big fat labour vibes to you all - may it happen SOON!!

riabutterflew · 30/05/2007 18:02

Thanks everyone, I'm sorry I clean all the time. I must find better things to do. I had a rest on the sofa earlier when I got in from appt and really enjoyed it so am going to prioritise rest ... soon!

(Honestly I am normally a VERY lazy sod, especially if I am reading a good book, and as soon as I start BF that will be it, fluff balls under the sofa, dirty washing up for days, the lot). AND I AM NOT going to do the ironing tonight!!!

I am now going to feed my children (they have "lost" the end of the hoover so I can't clean anything!) and bath them and hope they go to bed early-ish shall I join them or stay on MN?

TALLULAHBELLE · 30/05/2007 18:03

Hi All,

I wonder if anyone has seen this msg by Vio on Tue 29-May-07 05:18:02. www.mumsnet.com/Talk?topicid=49&threadid=288793.

Apologies in advance as I'm aware it's not really the kind of thing that ante-natallers want to think about.

Anyway, some of the Scottish mums meeting up tomorrow and we had hoped to come up with some ideas to help & support Vio - practical, emotional, fund-raising etc. Just thought that someone on here may have some helpful suggestions????

riabutterflew · 30/05/2007 18:04

Is last nights F-Word repeated? I feel I have missed out on something...

DaisysGotSausageFeet · 30/05/2007 18:16

Tallulah...I read weeonions post the other week and my heart just goes out to Vio and her family;t his is such a dreadful disease that she can't even give her baby a cuddle and I can only imagine the anguish that must go with it.
On the fund raising front.....maybe something similar to the Mile for Maud, but how about a parachute "Jump for James", or will that exclude too many people. Count me in as a potential sponsor whatever you decide.

DaisysGotSausageFeet · 30/05/2007 18:26

Ds was happily watching telly after his day out and having just scoffed lots of french toast and cheese and jam. I thought he was a bit quiet, went through to the other room and he was curled up fast asleep on the sofa. Couldn't get him awake, So I've had to carrry him up to bed and wrestle him into his jammies and into bed....bless him, he's still covered in soot from the minimg museum.

So, goodness only knows what time this side of the crack of dawn he'll be up tomorrow! I better have an early night in preparation!

TALLULAHBELLE · 30/05/2007 18:28

Good idea re the jump Daisy but am afraid I'm far too chicken for that. Maybe we could get the DH/DP's to do the jumping.

DaisysGotSausageFeet · 30/05/2007 18:33

It's one of those situations where you just wish there was something you could do....I hope that she's getting some form of emotional support, like talking to a genetic counsellor....

DesperateDerlor · 30/05/2007 18:41

Tallulah - that is heartbreaking and really puts things into perspective - i know that even though i'm in Scotland i've not joined in that thread but if you lot do go ahead with a "jump for james" - i would be honoured to be one of the jumpers or will also join in/help out with any other alternative ideas you come up with - just let me know. x

TALLULAHBELLE · 30/05/2007 18:54

Thanks for offers of support Daisy and Derlor. Will keep you up to date with anything decided. I believe Vio has had some support from the DEBRA charity. They have a shop in Argyle St that I've walked by hundreds of time and it never even occurred to me to wonder what the charity was.

DaisysGotSausageFeet · 30/05/2007 18:57

I saw that programme on C4 about Johnny and was heartbroken watching it, he was so brave...I hadn't heard of the condition before then.
