Is it normal to still be sick on phenergen

Frenchiemamax · 12/06/2018 20:24

LeeCee if you’re going away with close family and friends then I’d definitely tell them, it may be really hard for you to hide it otherwise and people will be a lot more sympathetic than if you use the old antibiotics fib!

Ash sorry you’re still struggling. Seems the only option is to wait it out, hopefully the sickness doesn’t last too much longer for any of us x

loopdeelou · 12/06/2018 20:28

@LeeCee I'd definitely tell. There's some good evidence that if a strong heartbeat is seen at 8 weeks then the chance of mc drop dramatically. If your scan goes well then I'd tell and don't think that's too early at all.

Ash1992 · 12/06/2018 20:28

@frenchiemamax I'm struggling so bad with it hopefully making a go appointment tomorrow try get some time off work I really can't cope and the harmful environment of nail smell is not helpline

Ash1992 · 12/06/2018 20:29

Helping I mean

Frenchiemamax · 12/06/2018 20:38

Ash have you told your employer? I really think you should. Pregnant women are well protected in the work place and if you’re not coping and your job is making you feel worse then you have every right to do what’s best for you and baby

Ash1992 · 12/06/2018 21:05

I have told my employer I'm not coping with the sickness and she said I can take days holiday off next week. I'm not sick next week in sick now that's why I feel my last resort is a sick note off my gp

Frenchiemamax · 12/06/2018 22:22

I agree about the sick note then. Saying you can take holiday is a bit 🤔 get yourself a docs note and have a proper rest for a few days.

Ash1992 · 12/06/2018 23:08

Had a milkshake and thru it all up had my dinner all came bk up the anti sickness tablets making me worse:(

Leliana · 12/06/2018 23:40

@ash1992 Actually, the rule is that patients self-certify for their first week of sick leave. You only need a doctor's note if you're still off after a week. So if you feel you cannot work due to sickness, you can self-certify now, rather than waiting to see your GP. Fingers crossed your symptoms settle down soon Flowers

@leliana I don't know why but I feel the anti sickness tabs maybe making me worse. Because I am still bring sick with them.

emdoc · 13/06/2018 10:24

I’m 11 weeks today! Haven’t been sick since Sunday which I’m counting as a victory! I think the nausea is lessening too... but slowly. Yesterday had the most intense craving for banana bread, and the day before for chocolate milk!

Apparently babe is now the size of a fig, that’s starting to seem kind of real to me! Hope everything is ok in there 🤞

Two more weeks till the next scan!

Upsydasiy · 13/06/2018 10:58

Yay @emdoc so happy your sickness has eased 😊

Frenchiemamax · 13/06/2018 12:42

Absolutely obsessed with ice poles and lollies lately, I seem to be so thirsty but nothing feels as refreshing!

Daffodil2018 · 13/06/2018 12:46

I am an ice lolly fiend too Frenchiemamax!

I am 9+6 today and still feeling very queasy and bloated. I am only managing to stay asleep for about 5 hours a night as well - I am waking up at 4am without fail, every day. So annoying as I am pretty tired all the time anyway!

Really looking forward to my scan on 4 July - and to hopefully feeling better in the second trimester.

laurs2309 · 13/06/2018 13:01

Just checking back in after a few weeks away. 11+2 today and finally starting to feel a bit better I think. I'm signed off at the mo and from 7-10 weeks I had a fit note from the gp suggesting I work reduced hours. It has been a massive help so if you're not coping just do it. How I thought I'd be able to soldier through till 12 weeks without telling work I don't know!

Leliana · 13/06/2018 13:14

I'm 9+3 now and I'm feeling really rotten today. For the first time all pregnancy, I was retching badly this morning and did bring up a little bit of bile. I've just spent 2 hours in a meeting at work and genuinely struggled to keep my eyes open. I can leave work a bit early on Wednesdays but I probably have at least 2 hours' worth of work to do first. I think I'm going to go straight to bed when I get home Sad

laurs2309 · 13/06/2018 14:28

@Leliana sorry to hear you're feeling so rubbish today. Hopefully it won't be long until it passes and we can all start to enjoy it rather than feel crappy all the time Confused

ComtessedeLancret · 13/06/2018 14:32

Dating scan tomorrow for me, I think Bub is due early Jan, no LMP to go by since my youngest is nearly 4.5mths, so eager to see if it’s another Jan baby.. silently shitting myself in the meantime..

LJFM2B · 13/06/2018 15:20

Wow that got filled up quickly :) must mean lots of January babies on there way .. still always tiered but all other things letting up now 10+4 :) eeek

Frenchiemamax · 13/06/2018 16:18

I’m glad some of you are starting to feel better as the pregnancy goes on, I’ve hit 9 weeks exactly today and Christ I thought the sickness was bad last week, today it’s taken a turn! Had to throw up in the bath as I was already on the loo Blush have had a extremely sensitive tum today!

ld1234 · 13/06/2018 17:41

@Daffodil2018 I'm 9+6 also and have my scan on 2nd July. X Due Jan 10th?

Sickness has subsided for now, thank goodness! Tiredness still there and bloated constantly and boobs? Ouch! They wake me up in the middle of the night as I fidget in my sleep and I must keep knocking them somehow!

Leliana · 13/06/2018 19:06

So my early finish at work turned into me leaving at 6.10pm! Just as well I love my job!!! Thanks for the sympathy, all. I'm home and cooking dinner. Once DH gets home I think it'll be food and then bed for me!

OP posts:
Ash1992 · 13/06/2018 19:32

@leliana how can you stand cooking.
I hate being in the kitchen or even opening the fridge because of all the smells

ld1234 · 13/06/2018 19:56

@Ash1992 I'm exactly the same, my DH has to cook everything, I can't even eat in there at the moment!
