Hi all, checking in to the new thread.
I'm 10+4 today, was just starting to get over the exhaustion bit then me lb came down with a virus and sleep has been very disturbed, I forgot how tough sleep deprivation can be!

Ash it definitely sounds like you need to push your gp or midwife to prescribe you a different anti-emetic. Just keep trying them until you find one that helps.

Woody096 · 11/06/2018 22:06

I am 10 weeks on weds. Serious bloating each night and errrm trapped wind. Also feel like I have been hit by an exhaustion bus. Hoping things will improve by 12 weeks! Have been craving bananas, banana smoothies are my fav!
Had a mw appt which turned out to be an appt to schedule a booking in appt 🙄🙄 complete waste of time! Now will not have a booking in appt before my 12 week scan 🙄

Leliana · 11/06/2018 23:06

I've got my booking appointment on Friday. Really looking forward to it, but a bit nervous. Those of you who have had it, what is it like? I know what will be covered in theory (I've already established DH doesn't have any family history of haemoglobinopathies!) but I'm not sure what it'll be like in practice...

Leliana it’s mainly questions about yours and your family’s health, mine only took an hour it’s very straight forward and laid back! Plus you get to meet your midwife Smile

stegosauruslady · 12/06/2018 08:22

Lots of family history questions and they will take some blood for testing. They test iron levels, STDs and for some markers for Edwards' syndrome and Patau's syndrome. At my booking appointment, she also went through what appointments I'll have, based on my family history etc putting me as a low risk pregnancy.

I think the worst of the sickness is gone for me (I'm 9 weeks, but might be further along as I ovulated early). I'm still shattered and STILL have sore boobs. I'm having to force myself to eat in the morning as it helps with nausea, but I just don't fancy anything! No food really appeals to me, which is sad!

Ash1992 · 12/06/2018 08:39

Has anyone had history of phergen anti sickness tablets they seem to be ok and not making me as drowsy and I wasn't sick yesterday but taking one a day instead of two

Upsydasiy · 12/06/2018 11:18

Ash1992 · 12/06/2018 13:36

@jojo7777777
You have been signed off from work ? Under sickness circumstances?
I'm trying to book in with my gp maybe get a sick note I'm finding it so difficult at work

Upsydasiy · 12/06/2018 13:57

@Jojo7777777
I ended up telling Work earlier than planned as I have been signed off for the last 3 weeks. Due back this week. Nervous but need some normality back.

gemsparkle84 · 12/06/2018 14:12

Anyone else get to this time and literally can't keep their eyes open. I'm soooo tired and have to entertain my 2 year old. Luckily she's content on the sofa watching peppa while I have 5 minutes. But serious I'm so frigging tired ha ha

Ash1992 · 12/06/2018 14:13

@upsydaisy I'm thinking to get signed off can my gp do this. I would be concerned about my job .

Soontobemumof4 · 12/06/2018 14:22

My booking was 30min, ran through fanily history, previous pregnancies, height, weight, blood test and urine sample. She ran through the leaflets, and said she'd encourage home birth this time and I chose my hospital for scans. Mine was really simple and quick but it's my 4th so a lot of the info I already knew so she skipped it

Soontobemumof4 · 12/06/2018 14:24

gemsparkle84 me too. My 1 year old is munching biscuits whilst I muster some energy to go on the pre school and school runs. Between 2 and 3pm has always been my worst time of day in pregnancies

jennac · 12/06/2018 14:29

I’m 10+4 and still experiencing so much nausea! Hoping it will pass soon. The only thing I can find that helps is eating a jacket potato at lunch time - I feel amazing for the whole rest of the day after that! Weird. It’s a life saver. I’m also starting to get such a bump!!! Won’t be able to hide for much longer. You know how you can normally breathe in and suck it in - I just have no control over it! Running out of baggy outfits, haha

gemsparkle84 · 12/06/2018 14:38

@Soontobemumof4 flipping heck yes I bet you're feeling it! That's reassuring it's not just me and yes it's always right about 2.30 I just need to sleeeeeep!!! How old are all of yours?

Soontobemumof4 · 12/06/2018 14:46

gemsparkle84 mine are almost 7, 3.5years and 17 months. Why on earth we though another was a bright idea I'll never know Confused youngest still doesn't sleep through either lol

I'm finding a snack about 2ish is helping though

Upsydasiy · 12/06/2018 14:52

@Ash1992 I didn’t want to be signed off, initially I argued it but after letting me have it my way and I got worse my GP didn’t take no for an answer and signed me off. My GP has been amazing I’m very lucky (I’ve also seen some not great ones) my job is very demanding and I’m now so thankful my GP signed me off. Although it was only a matter of time, my hospital admissions wouldn’t have been conducive to working shifts. Just crossing my fingers that going back to work isn’t too much 🤞

Upsydasiy · 12/06/2018 14:53

@jennac also starting to show. The bloat is unreal 🙈🙄

BowKay · 12/06/2018 15:53

I'm vet bloated, can't do my jeans up so leaving them open and wearing long baggy tops. I had a call from the maternity unit today I have my booking appointment tomorrow when I'll be 9+3 and they have given me a date for my 12 week scan. It's quite an early one, 28th June and I'll only be 11+4. Do you think it will be ok to do it then?

BowKay · 12/06/2018 15:53

Very, not vet, bloated!

jennac · 12/06/2018 16:57

@bowkay I think anytime after 11 weeks is okay! I have mine next Friday when I’ll be 11+6

LG93 · 12/06/2018 17:07

Still really bloated here too - I've lost a stone through sickness but tummy is still bigger than ever! Have ordered some maternity jeans as mine cut in so much - even though I know it's not baby yet! The midwife who did my early scan said once the placenta takes over around 12 weeks the bloat will go as the progesterone levels that are currently keeping pregnancy going will drop again as they're no longer needed - hoping she's right!

Jojo7777777 · 12/06/2018 19:15

I lost a baby in October and slowly got mire depressed and stressed im on the mend but resting so time off was good timing as this time nauseous all day

LeeCee · 12/06/2018 19:53

I've got my early scan in the morning I'll be 10+2 so nervous hope we can a nice strong heartbeat and some reassurance. On Friday we're off on holiday for 2 weeks so really want to know all is progressing well before we go!

Need to decide as well if we're going to tell people on this holiday away with both friends and family and it's going to be so hard to hide.

What would you do? Is 10/11 weeks too early to share?
