Morning.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Juicylucytoo · 22/05/2007 21:33

Your brother obviously has more money than we do Scoot - all my "new stuff" for the baby is from Ebay!! Makes me feel like a cheapscate(sp)

No more new baby news?

scootermum · 22/05/2007 21:36

oh Pebble, well done you-and yet another lovely name..Sounds like a nice birth too..
Sleep well tonight hon..cant wait to see pictures of little Alana..

Juicylucytoo · 22/05/2007 21:36

Pebble - FAB NEWS!!! Congratulations! Sounds like relatively short labour. I'll have one of those thanks. And no complications. How lovely that you're already at home. Enjoy your rest and your lovely new daughter

scootermum · 22/05/2007 21:40

Well thats the odd thing Julie-they live in a humungous house, and buy everything at JL, but are totally broke..they never have any money for going out or whatever..so odd-its all very keepy uppy with the Jones's IMO..Again odd though as they've nowt to keep up with here..we live in a 2 up 2 down and couldnt give a monkeys about money really..each to their own I guess..nothing wrong with ebay either..its good sense if you ask me..this baby will have all DDs stuff and it wont know the difference!(till it gets to be about 12 and is sick of cast offs I suppose!)

InTheseShoes · 22/05/2007 21:51

Congratulations Pebblemum! Sounds like a pretty good labour all told, so glad that you are cuddling your little girl tonight!

AbbyLou · 22/05/2007 21:59

congrats Pebble, well done you! So pleased for you that you got the little girl you wanted, she has a lovely name. Make sure you get some rest tonight.

LupinsBigLump · 22/05/2007 22:00

Pebble huge congrats, what a lovely name, glad all is going well, have a good night

JL nought wrong with buying stuff off of ebay for lo, I have bought hardly anything new for Arlen, his beanchair and micralite, a blanket and a cardy, I have been given heaps of clothes (thanks Aprilmeadow), bought 3 wheeler of mumsnet, crib of babygreenhouse, given mobile, had steriliser from dd, given changing table, got a sack of baby toys from a friend, best to save your money now while they dont know any better, dd has started looking through the catalogue and telling me what shoes she wants arghhhhh shes only 4

Hopefully get some more baby news overnight,

juliewoolie · 22/05/2007 22:11

yeah to pebblemum I want a labour like that.

We have been given loads of stuff and what we have bought has generally been from ebay or other cheap websites.

ShowOfHands · 22/05/2007 22:23

Just to let you all know that I will be on tomorrow and will catch up properly. Missing chatting to you all, just wanted to let you all know I'm alive and kicking and wondering exactly who has had babies and also...

MKG · 23/05/2007 00:51

Pebble,

Sounds awesome!! Congrats to you.

Well ladies I had a proper bloody show today. So I am getting more and more excited, which is probably the worst thing that could possibly happen to me right now. I may not be able to check in tomorrow so don't assume that I'm off having a baby. If you don't hear from me on Thursday assume I'm having a baby.

cameroonmama · 23/05/2007 08:57

Pebble, wow, you sound so calm, what a lovely experience, many congratulations and welcome baby Alana-May.

Come on Mars, dish the dirt, who is next?

LG&T do you think you might last until June?

JonahB · 23/05/2007 09:18

Morning All,

Ooh, it?s all happening here!!

Intheseshoes ? lovely dress. Think I?d have the same problem as 12YG, being 5 foot!!!

DVD?s (noise of Jonah slapping forehead). Why didn?t I think of that to while away the days???

Hi Minipop!!!! (waving emoticom)

Pebble ? big congratulations and welcome Alana!!!!! Gosh, got all teary-eyed at your description of a non-too horrific labour/birth. Must control my hormones more??

Scoot ? sounds a fully nutritious meal. All the vitamins and minerals required will be in the bolognaise and grapes and I?m sure the biscuits were a totally justifiable reward/bribe for something . Toddlers are funny about dried bread, aren?t they? DS goes hysterical if DH doesn?t give him a regular supply of dried bagels and woe betide anyone who even thinks of adding a filling, healthy or otherwise.

Well, I am most miffed. 2:30am last night I started getting mild contractions every 10 mins. Jonah mistakenly thinks something is happening. Nope, wrong. They keep me awake for 2 hours and I fell asleep. I?m guessing by the fact that there was no baby lying between us this am that they must have stopped . I had the MW apt yesterday and she refused to give me a sweep before next week. I contemplated crying to see if that would persuade her, but she had a resolute face which told me that she?s clearly used to hormonal, heavily prgt women, clinging to her leg and begging to be put out of this misery!!

Good luck to all you having babies today?..

Creena · 23/05/2007 09:35

Hooray! Another baby and lots of babies making their way into world!

Congratulations on your little girl Pebble and well done you! Sounds like you handled it all brilliantly. Can't wait to see some pics!

Sending more positive birthing vibes to everyone with twinges, cramping, waters leaking and engaged bobbas! Won't be long now....

madeindevon2 · 23/05/2007 10:07

morning all.
firstly many many congrats to pebble and welcome to little alana may.
another gorgeous name!
hello to everyone else still waiting. its my due date today but im not holding out much hope baby arrives today. dh is very disappointed as he wanted baby to watch the final tonight with him/her!
no signs at all. just achy hips and feeling heavier by the day....
hi scoot...how you doing today?

MKG · 23/05/2007 10:35

Hi everyone. After spending an incredibly painful night half asleep half awake, due to what I now know to be trapped gas (wind over there) I went to the bathroom and had more bloody mucus. Is there supposed to be this much, because it just keeps coming. It was also a brighter red, not too much, but am concerned and don't know if I should phone the doctor or let it be. Any thoughts.

juliewoolie · 23/05/2007 10:40

feel for you with the trapped wind. Why not phone your Doc cant do any harm.

I have just had my ante natal app baby is huge according to Doc but apparantly I will cope as I have big hips!!! Cheeky mare. Also baby is lying L/L whatever that means.

Have a lovely day everyone, off to do battle at sainsbury's.

madeindevon2 · 23/05/2007 10:50

MKG yeah a quick call wouldnt do any harm just to put your mind at rest if you unsure but sounds like plug coming away doenst it?
who woulda thought i would be envious of someone having lots of mucus coming out! its a sign "things are happenening" and baby arrivial is imminent which is great news isnt it!! ive got no signs at all. dh says its my fault for making baby too comfy in there....

MKG · 23/05/2007 10:53

OK guys, I just called and the doctor told me to go to labor and delivery, just in case, so I'm off maybe I'll be back, maybe I won't. If I'm not good luck to everyone and please send me happy labor vibes.

twelveyeargap · 23/05/2007 12:03

Congratulations Pebble. That's great news. Lovely name.

Fingers crossed for you MKG, though I guess you've already left!

Well it looks like I'll be joining the June thread. M/w was just here. Tried to give me a sweep and my cervix is so far posterior and so hard that she could barely reach it, never mind stretch it.

LG&T's interweb is down, by the way, so don't be worrying about her not being online. She texted me for an update on everyone this morning.

Good to "see" you SOH. I was thinking you were probably just really busy (and tired!), but we can't help worrying, you know. Hope you're feeling less dead on your feet today. x

GOOD LUCK MKG!WOOH WOOH!(Poor English attempt at a cheer!)

Good morning to everyone else..happy due date Madeindevon! You never know, when Liverpool score their second tonight and you DH is yelling with excitement the baby might hear and want to come out and see what all the fuss is about?

SOH!Blimey-was about to send out a search party for you!Glad to hear from you..

Well no news overnight re Tam or LWatkins? Is it too intrusive to text d'you think?Dont want to ruin any moments or anything but getting a bit concerned..and I wonder if gandt and TYG are off having their babies together this morn?!

My midwife wouldnt contemplate giving me a sweep either Jonah-I have to see her again tomorrow..which is my EDD.In fact she looked quite shocked at the very idea..Anyway baby Scoot can come out now if she wants-DH will have finished his exam by 1pm so we are all good to go..back is aching a bit, but then that could be because of the weight of my ginormous frame and DD at times deciding she MUST be carried..that said she has slept for 2.5 hours this morning and has been very good considering she is made up with cold..

at your DD Lups..girl after my own heart..when I was up with the cat this morn, 4.05 am today, so some improvement on yesterdays 3.45..I was thinking that Ive literally nothing, except one dress, to wear after this baby comes..Nothing at all..all my 'in between' clothes are wintery...may do a wee primark run this aft as sincerely am quite inordinately worried about it!

Off to dress DD and tidy-yet more viewers this aft..God I wish someone would actually buy the house-am sick of the whole thing now!

scootermum · 23/05/2007 12:07

waves to TYG..(who is clearly not having her baby after all /)Sorry to hear about your cervix hon..

(cant believe I have just posted a message about someones cervix-my RL friends would have a fit if I sent them an email about theirs!)

twelveyeargap · 23/05/2007 12:12

It's gas isn't it? The intimate nature of our conversations?

DH has to do a really important meeting in New York, sooner rather than later, so with the baby looking like she'll be "later", he's probably going to go on Friday morning, back Saturday morning, so it's better that I know I'm "unlikely" to be giving birth any time soon. Will just lie still and keep my legs crossed for the 24 hours he's gone.

Will be having copious amounts of acupuncture/ pineapple/ long walks (waddles?) as soon as he's back.

OP posts:
scootermum · 23/05/2007 12:27

Well put me down for 'stand-by' then just in case-assuming my one isnt coming out at the time..

largeginandtonic · 23/05/2007 12:57

Hello all, DH has fixed the interweb! Was desperate for news of all you popping ladies

TYG filled me in though, sending you massive hugs hon. Dont worry about it, it can all change in an instant. My cervix was posterior with dd as she was back to back and her head was not in my pelvis at a good angle. She still came the day before my due date and was a text book labour till the end.

Pebble, Alana sounds scrummy. Im so glad she came out without too much trouble and you made it to the hospital! Cant wait for pics, hope she is wrapped up in her pink blanket

Scoot it must be driving you nuts having to show people round all the time. Cant you hold it till after Mae is here?

SOH VERY glad to hear from you, was having a minor panic. I take Mathilda is not a fan of sleeping I cany track down my old active birth teacher for the magic herbs. OLIMIA mail order have some healing herbs that sound the same but not sure if they are.

10 days late today, he is far too happy in there.... >
