QUICK TAM UPDATE:

All well. No bean yet. She's been checked today and she's going to have a quick sweep this evening to get things going. That said she's contracting slowly (some lovely but spaced contractions). MW very very pleased with her and baby so Tam relaxing more. So...... send your positive labour thoughts towards Tam and hope that all is going before tonight.

LW: Okay honey. Induction doesn't have to be bad. Ask to be as mobile and upright as possible (not just sitting on the bed). Ask for a birthing ball to sit on anything that keeps gravity working. Remember... breathe through your contractions and use the gas and air well. Breathe in and out deeply as the contractions are starting and stop using the gas and air when the contractions stop. All will be well I'm sure. Kisses

LG&T you can stop with the attention seeking and get on with birthing now please.

GB text this morning. She's gone in. Had a quick call from RedKennedy's OH and she went in yesterday. So lots of ladies to be thinking of today. Maybe all the babes will share a birthdate

I won't post anyone's news. I'll let them do it, but I will grin when my work is done.

madeindevon2 · 22/05/2007 12:16

right. think im 2/5 engaged (3/5 palpable whatever that means????any ideas??)
mw wants me to lie on lhs (i do normally) and lean over ball to get baby in better position.
apart from that all good
coming to my house to give me sweep a week tomorrow if nothing happens in the meantime.
slightly fed up....going out shortly for waddle in the park and lunch with friend to cheer myself up.
im being impatient i know....due date isnt even until tommorrow.

MKG · 22/05/2007 13:19

Morning everyone!! Still here, but am feeling great after a wonderful nights sleep. I hope this baby doesn't come today because it's my nephew's birthday, and I don't want either of them to have to share. I hope I go on Thursday because that is our anniversary, so it would be nice to give dh a baby for a present. Last year we both forgot!!, so this year it would be nice for me to make up for it.

Am thinking of everyone who is having their baby today, which seems to be like 100 at once.

InTheseShoes · 22/05/2007 13:44

La-la-la-la-la, I'm not really here at all, la-la-la-la...

Good luck Pebble, LW and Tam - looking forward to hearing about the new little beans for us to coo over!

Wow what a day, How exciting.

Good Luck to those in Labour or soon to be.

CONGRATULATIONS to those who have their bundles in arms.

TYG, yours is tommorow, Mark my words!

lg&t, well who knows sweetie, you obviously provide the best growing space available.

twelveyeargap · 22/05/2007 17:07

Thanks MrsJB. Here's hoping.

Is it just me, or have there actually been a lot of dramas on this thread? Like, loads of people going early/ needing c-sections/ breech babies etc?

Maybe it's the same on all the ante-natal threads...

CONGRATULATIONS to Pebble and whoever the other mystery two are..dont think its LWatkins yet as ive not had a text from her Mum-unless she is holding out on us!

Oh cant wait to hear who it is!(largegandt, is is you?-have you really been in labour all this time and have continued posting nonchalantly whilst also baking 6 cakes and playing tag with Hugs-I wouldnt put it past you!)

Nothing to report here at all-been to mw who gave me the news that the babys head is engageed-shocking-have felt like the baby's head has been practically falling out for weeks..
Sat on a big ball thing at toddlers group for a bit, even though it was really for the toddlers to play with, but then got off sharpish as remembered the baby cant come till tomorrow aft at the earliest so as not to clash with DH's last exam..

Am predicting Thurs for me, which is my EDD, but only as its set to be boiling ruddy hot-not ideal for labour I wouldnt have thought, DD born in a snowstorm and I was still sweltering..

DD has been a little angel today I must say-she slept for two hours this morn with me in bed, which was greatly appreciated as the cat got up at 5 to 3 mithering for his breakfast and I didnt get back to sleep after that..could really have killed him quite honestly..blighter..

Well, hoping for some news soon...and for some things to kick off for, most especially, largegandt and TYG..All together now, 'why are we waiting, o wh-y are we wa-a-aiting?'

InTheseShoes · 22/05/2007 17:59

Well, it would appear that RedKennedy is in labour here

hums gently and waits for the time when she is the only one left on the thread

LupinsBigLump · 22/05/2007 18:34

Peeking head in the door to see whats going on

How exciting, babies babies everywhere

largeginandtonic · 22/05/2007 18:49

Not a chance Scoot, i will be hollering the place down when my time comes believe me!

CONGRATS TO YOU PEBBLE! Cant wait to hear the details.

Where is Lwatkins and Tam then? Hope it is all happening painless and calm for them both It can happen like that you know...... it is going to for me

So you next then TYG? MrsJB seems sure. Apparantly im a lost cause It is never coming out >

twelveyeargap · 22/05/2007 19:51

Yeah, LG&T. I'll be tomorrow so the first thing my mother can say is, "Oh, Wednesday's child is full of woe. Just like your father." Honestly, I bet she'd say it. Probably after, "I suppose DH's parents have already been told?" and definitely before, "Congratulations! How are you feeling?" Possibly after, "Great, so you'll get the baptism booked so I can book my flights cheap?" Gagh!

Awh feck, I shouldn't give her such a hard time, but she's getting on my nerves. (Along with everything and everybody else!)

blimey it is begining to get echoey (sp) in here.

How is everyone?

Still nothing on my front although I did go and make an appointment to get my tootsies done tom and the therapist asked when I was due I said now and she nearly fell over and I had to promise I wouldnt go into labour in the salon. ;)

scootermum · 22/05/2007 20:41

Well my Mother has called not once but twice today to say she wants to come down tomorrow after DH's exam!Gaaagh..I know she means well, and she just wants to be here, but I really dont want her here when Im in labour at home-I hated it last time with her and Dad around-plus it could be days-she may be here for a week! She is sooo untidy and I am quite Monica and even more so when heavily pg and trying to sell my house, so the two would not be a good mix!
Plus assuming no baby, DH and I want to have a nice evening together tomorrow and just a chance to catch up without exams/NVQ/ everything else to worry about..before DD2 arrives to shatter the peace..

Am trying to put her off nicely, but I bet she calls tomorrow morning and says she is about to set off..sigh..

No news from anyone..hope they are all ok...

scootermum · 22/05/2007 20:42

But if you did Julie, you might get free pedicures for life or something!

Is EVERYONE over on the postnatal thread then?Has SOH been on at all?

juliewoolie · 22/05/2007 20:47

not seen SOH on here since her birth announcement. Its pretty quiet on post natal as well I guess the first month after the bubs are born it will pick up again.

Scoot you made me chuckle the other day talking aobut JOhn Lewis I used to live in Harpenden and I remember many a sat arvo in JL eating cakes with my mum.

scootermum · 22/05/2007 20:51

I LOVE the place..but not as much as my brother and his wife..they bought ALL the stuff for their recently born baby from JL, (thats how they refer to it, 'JL'!) and the day after the baby was born, there they were, back in JL getting yet more stuff..but then I suppose it is 'never knowingly undersold!'
I once ventured to ask if they had got something from Mothercare and my SIL went visibly pale at the thought..

juliewoolie · 22/05/2007 20:53

funny - I know people who have put a baby list on John lewis like a wedding list.

Pebblemum · 22/05/2007 21:31

Evening ladies

Well what a turnup. Little Alana-May decided she couldnt wait after all and shocked us all by deciding to make her appearance a day early

Just a quick report on events, i will post pics on Thursday (its ds1's birthday tomorrow so doubt i will get on here)

Waters went with a huge gush at 1.45am, another lot went again about 4.30am and although i was getting the odd contraction it was nothing regular. Had been told by the hospital to wait until they were lasting a minute and coming at 5min intervals, this didnt happen until about 6am. Phoned hospital back and was told to have breakfast and then leave home at about 7am. That was fine until i hung up and my contractions seemed to get stronger and were coming every 3mins, cue mad rush to get to hospital with me having visions of delivering the baby in the farmers fields enroute
Got to hospital at 7.30 found out I was 4-5cm dilated. I was so disappointed, the pains were so strong i was sure i only had a few minutes left. Anyway i mentioned that i had wanted a waterbirth so we changed rooms, i got in the bath at about 8.45 and Alana-May was born in the water 26mins later at 9.11am, weighing 7lbs 3oz (she looks just like ds2 did when he was born and she only weighed 1lb more too, so much for me having a big baby }. She is perfect!!

She went straight to the breast and has been feeding well, she is so alert, she only fell asleep at 4pm preferring to just lay there looking around. She seems a contented baby so far but im sure that will change.

Ds2 came to visit us in hospital and just kept smiling at her and saying the baby's come out lol. ds1 had gone to school so he had to wait until we came home at teatime to see her, he is over the moon that he has a little sister at last Think she is the best present he could have asked for and she doesnt share his birthday so hes pleased with that too. Both the boys are staying with MIl tonight so i can rest, ive slept a bit but the afterpains are quite strong at the moment, have sent dh out to get some more paracetamol.

And no matter how gorgeous she is (i cant believe ive got my little girl at last ) I am not going through that pain again, no way lol.The poor thing still keeps being called 'he' or 'little man' etc but i guess we will get over that soon.

Oh and when we got home we saw the neighbours had put up pink banners and balloons everywhere which made me get a bit teary, it was such a nice gesture and totally unexpected!!

Hope all of you in labour or missing in action get results soon and all those still waiting for those first labour signs goodluck and fingers crossed it happens soon
