This is my first message on here- so excited to finally be able to write a message!! Supposed to be having our first appointment at fertility clinic tomorrow but cancelled it as had BFP at the weekend!! Not sure on how to write it in ‘+’ numbers but did due date calculator and says 6th Feb. Did 2 cheap HPT last week and both negative but AF late so I decided I was going through early menopause!!! Then splashed the cash on CB digital test and says 2-3 weeks. So excited after nearly a year of trying - also struggling to focus at work and not just scream “By the way, I’m pregnant!”

jeanzbeanz · 06/06/2018 12:30

I had a photo shoot with five little boys this morning, ranging from 12-18 months. Felt soooo dizzy I thought I was going to have to cancel halfway through but carried on and just hoping the pics have come out alright!

Celebelly · 06/06/2018 12:35

My pillow has arrived! It's ginormous haha. Dog included for scale!

It's so comfy though! Hoping it'll help my back pain.

@Celebelly. It looks like somebody stuffed a big pair of trousers 😂😂

Celebelly · 06/06/2018 13:01

Hahaha!!! My dog keeps trying to hump it. It's so comfy though. I never want to go anywhere without it again.

furandchandeliers · 06/06/2018 17:00

Where did you get that from celebelly Smile

Celebelly · 06/06/2018 19:14

Amazon!

Rowse · 06/06/2018 20:30

Hi everyone!

I'm 4+1 and did an FRER on Thursday and got a positive and then another 4 positive tests over the following few days Smile

I didn't want to get too excited until my period was definitely late, which it is by 3 days. I'm very regular so I'm taking this as a very good sign.

Only just signed up with a new doctor the day before we got the bfp and they said the person who registers new patients wasn't in until today so haven't arranged anything yet.

Do you know if I just call the surgery and tell them I'm pregnant and they'll book me in for the right time or do I call and make a normal doctors appointment?

Congratulations to all!

TheTittifersHaveSungTheirSong · 06/06/2018 20:46

Hi @Rowse congratulations on bfp!
Different area do different things...I just rang up and asked for a booking in midwives appointment which they will book for around 8-9weeks so skipped Drs.
With my first I was completely clueless so booked Drs appointment-she was lovely and did estimated due date but that was it, told me to book midwife.

Rowse · 06/06/2018 21:11

Thank you @TheTittifersHaveSungTheirSong !

I think I'll just call in the morning and ask what they usually do in that case.
Being the last of my friends to get pregnant/have children I thought I had a good idea of what to expect, but there are so many little things I didn't even consider!

jeanzbeanz · 06/06/2018 21:33

Congrats and welcome Rowse
I am fairly clueless so rang Dr and they said there is no need for an appointment, and booked me in for a midwife appt when I'm 8 wks. Seems a long time to wait without speaking to a professional!

AKAlucy · 06/06/2018 21:52

Can I ask a stupid question? How do you write a message kind of replying to some else’s message with @ then their user name after? I feel a bit thick not being able to do it- I’m new to all this (and my emojis don’t work Shock SmileHmm

AKAlucy · 06/06/2018 21:52

Ok- the emojis do work after all!! Oh dear

TheTittifersHaveSungTheirSong · 06/06/2018 22:02

@AKAlucy
I type an @ then other posters names come up and I choose one. Otherwise literally just type it! (I'm on the phone app-don't know about computers though)

Celebelly · 06/06/2018 22:15

The names come up on app when you press @ but not on computer annoyingly!

AKAlucy · 06/06/2018 22:50

Thanks Celebelly and TheTittifersHaveSungTheirSong - I will get onto the app. My DP is fed up of me being glued to Mumsnet already and it’s only been 24hours- think it is going to be a long 9 months for him!Grin

lanalawr · 06/06/2018 23:27

Hi everyone! Got my bfp this afternoon. Feeling very strange but happy. This will be my second (dd is 22 months). Planning to do a digital test in the morning to see how many weeks it says.

Quirkycutekitch2011 I remember finding it strange that they took your word for it last time too. I’m going to pop in to my surgery over the next couple of weeks to fill in the form for the midwife.

MuddlingThrough1724 and rose7120 I’m sorry to hear your news. ThanksThanks

smellsofelderberries · 07/06/2018 03:01

Yes to the gassy, had wicked indigestion yesterday but feeling better today. I still find this part of pregnancy so odd, still so hard to believe. The only other symptom I'm having is my sense of smell is ramping up, which never happened last time!

Any other second timers still breastfeeding? Luckily I'm not having any breast tenderness and really hoping my milk supply doesn't dry up!

I'm away from home for the next week but will see my GP whenI'm back, I think they like you to see the GP first here. I'll then book with my hospital.

jeanzbeanz · 07/06/2018 11:14

Caved in this morning and did another POAS Blush - first one since Saturday. The positive line appeared before the control line! Gave me some reassurance that things are progressing. Still doesn't feel real to me.

Celebelly · 07/06/2018 11:22

I did a FRER today too and got my dye-stealer! The test line is darker than the control. I'm going to test with digital in a few days and see if it's gone up to 3+ weeks.

I do not feel pregnant at all today!

LookingAtTheStars89 · 07/06/2018 11:47

@Celebelly. I was thinking about doing another test too. I think it's normal to not feel pregnant at this stage. I don't remember feeling pregnant until I could feel my girls moving about, even just feeling the first few flutters can make you "feel pregnant" lol. I felt dog rough this morning but I feel ok now apart from gassy!

Rowse · 07/06/2018 12:03

Thanks @jeanzbeanz and Congrats to you too! (on a computer so can’t do the fancy tagging thing!)
It does feel like a long time doesn’t it? I’m going to call the doctors in a minute and see what they say. Great that the positive line came up for you before the control! I haven’t POAS stick since Saturday either, but going to do the one which tells you how many weeks today or tomorrow, can’t stop myself!

@Celebelly It’s strange isn’t it? Some days I feel very pregnant and others not at all. Today I don’t and I think it’s because I’m not bloated like I have been for days!

Congratulations @ lanalawr !

Rowse · 07/06/2018 12:05

Hmmm looks like the tagging did work on a computer for me. I typed it in notes and copied and pasted it into the message box.

Celebelly · 07/06/2018 12:09

Oh you can tag fine on a computer, you just don't get the dropdown menu so have to manually type in people's names (whereas on app you type @ and then can type like the first letter of someone's name and a dropdown menu comes up where you can select them)

I'm going to try and not test for a few days until I do a digital but it's so hard!

I slept like a baby last night in my massive pillow! Didn't want to get up!

hayleyfx · 07/06/2018 13:14

Welcome and a huge congrats to everyone who has joined recently 😊 I hope this is the start of lots of healthy and happy pregnancies!

I had my first midwife appointment today. I said I was 5+3 but she figured it out and said I was 5+5 - the reason I thought it was a couple days behind was because I don’t have a 28 day cycle, I have a 30 day cycle so all the apps and online calculators were telling me 5+3. I know I should just go with what my midwife is saying but I’m just confused? Haha. Anybody know about that?
It’ll make a difference when it comes to my 7 week scan so just trying to figure out what date to go with haha!
