@AKAlucy I hope they help you, and it passes soon. I know what you mean, I've been going to bed so early and napping after work most days.

Picklesandpies · 26/06/2018 06:03

I am also wearing sickness bands as much as poss - although it's just not the weather for being able to hide them under sleeves is it!

Not enjoying the heat at all - I'd normally love sitting in the garden for lunch etc but can't even face sitting in the shade out there. Typical to have this amazing weather and not be able to enjoy it! Hey ho.

I seem to have burst a blood vessel in my eye which I think must be from retching. Lovely. Anyone else had this? It doesn't hurt but there's a bright red patch on my eyeball when I pull my eyelid down. Do they just go on their own after a while? Glad it's not where you can see it all the time or I'd be frightening the children!

Have a good day everyone.

Nuglife · 26/06/2018 11:19

@Picklesandpies I had this and it took a week or so to go down... Turned a nice shade of yellow as it disappeared so you have that to look forward to!!!

Picklesandpies · 26/06/2018 13:12

Thanks @Nuglife Grin That's good to know!

MakeLemonade · 26/06/2018 21:16

Man this heat is grim. I hate SW Railways so much, the commute is just the worst at the moment. Delays galore, no air con, no loos.

Today I am cross! 😡 Sorry for the little moan, giving my DH a break this evening Grin

Really pleased to hear the sickness bands are being successful, going to pick up some tomorrow and hope they work for me too. Fingers crossed!

Rowse · 26/06/2018 22:09

@MakeLemonade I got caught up in that train mess tonight too. Luckily my train had air con, would have felt much worse without it.

The bands have helped me so much, especially on the commute when I was feeling travel sick on top of morning sickness.

I always felt for people who are heavily pregnant in heatwaves, but now I realise how hard it is for the first trimester too! Especially as I'm not telling anyone yet so can't explain why I'm feeling rough and just pretend I'm fine.

Koalatom1 · 27/06/2018 05:36

Feel sorry for anyone on the trains. Is it too early to get a baby on board badge? X

MakeLemonade · 27/06/2018 08:13

I would ordinarily wait a bit before bringing out the baby on board badge but think I will pop it in my bag today just in case we have a re-run of the chaos today.

The pretending is so hard. I’ve ended up telling a few people - although none at work - just because I’m really bad at faking reasons to not drink, to be feeling ill etc.

smellsofelderberries · 27/06/2018 12:25

Oh, I'm not in public transport much these days and certainly not during rush hour, but I remember those ghastly peak hour tubes and SE trains from the first trimester with DD 🤢 I found my baby on board badge the other day, definitely won't don it anytime soon though will probably break it out in August when DD and I are flying next!

Have been feeling a little anxious and then last night had the tiniest bit of light brown discharge Sadbut my GP ran a BHCG test the other day and it came back at 66000, which seems mid-range for 7-8 weeks. Considering I think I'm only 7 weeks tomorrow, I'm feeling reassured for now.

Since2016 · 27/06/2018 15:13

Afternoon ladies. I'm off this week and so glad as my sickness has sort of started and I'm knackered. I'm absolutely dreading the tube and commute next week. It's so grim.

Still pondering when to have an early scan. 6 weeks (by my dates) on Friday. 9/10 weeks?

SpringfieldMummy · 27/06/2018 19:22

Urgh, had to go to London today and I get travel sick on trains at the best of times. The train broke down for an hour outside Swindon and we just had to sit there in the heat.

I felt so ill by the time I got to my meeting (late). Luckily I've already confided in my work colleague so she ducked in to the shop at the station when we arrived and got me some ginger nuts!

Is it too early to go to bed. I feel like I've just come off a fairground ride, so dizzy and nauseous. But then love island looks really good tonight...!

furandchandeliers · 27/06/2018 19:53

Morning sickness has kicked in this week, I've had slight nausea since I found out but only threw up once until now, but last couple of days I've hardly kept anything down!

Luckily I work at home and so does Dh, I don't know how I'd manage traveling to work every day!

Picklesandpies · 27/06/2018 19:54

Poor you @SpringfieldMummy - that sounds grim. Trains in this country are just so rubbish! Can't believe you had to go to a meeting feeling like that. I get the dizziness too - not nice.

Definitely not too early for bed but hear you on Love Island. It is finally getting good! Saw Megan referred to as 'Muggy Megan' today! It really is utter, utter shite but really addictive!

MrsY87 · 28/06/2018 00:48

Sorry to those of you getting trains in the heat they are bad enough when it's not hot & your feeling sick!

I had an early scan test afternoon & it showed two heartbeats!! Eeek!! So all being well I'm having twins!! It's obviously v early days still so I'm trying not to freak out but that will be 4 under 5, of which 3 will be under 18m!! 😱

Picklesandpies · 28/06/2018 06:09

@MrsY87 😮 Wow! Congratulations! What amazing news! Do twins run in your family? That must have been absolutely surreal to see. You are going to be very busy but what a wonderful set of playmates they will have 😊. How exciting to have twins on the board. xx

MrsY87 · 28/06/2018 06:32

My grandma on my mums side had twin sisters so there is one set but nothing more!

I'd joked to DH in the car on the way to the scan it would be twins...it was like I knew!! We both just laughed nervously when she said she could see two pregnancy sacs although I did think it the moment she put the thing on my stomach and I saw it but waited for her to confirm it! I thought it was a dream when I woke up this morning!

furandchandeliers · 28/06/2018 10:07

@MrsY87 congratulations!!! Lovely newsSmile

It will be lovely they will be nice and close in age, I had 5 under 5 although not twins, and honestly it was hard work but I'm so glad I did it now, they all have similar interests and are so close.

Koalatom1 · 28/06/2018 12:17

Ohhh exciting to have twins! My friend is having identical girls in sept. I didn’t realise identical twins is just a freak of nature, whereas non identical is what follows the family history.

How is everyone? I can’t follow all the various threads anymore 🙈

smellsofelderberries · 28/06/2018 12:37

Woah, congratulations @MrsY87 !! That's hugely exciting!!!

MakeLemonade · 28/06/2018 12:50

How exciting, congratulations MrsY! I have little sisters who are twins, it’s great fun.

Since2016 · 28/06/2018 17:03

Congratulations @MrsY87 I am slightly jealous although it would terrify me! So we braved a day In town today (london) and it was lovely! Enjoying the three of us!

Came home to my scan and midwife appt - 6th July midwife and 9th aug scan. Fingers and toes crossed for the next 5 weeks! Helpfully in time (I hope) for good news to be shared at my sisters 30th! Reckon we'll do a private scan at 8/9 weeks so in two weeks time to reassure me. Nausea stepping up - I am the beige food queen. Turning into my toddler "no like this leaf" 😂

MrsY87 · 28/06/2018 18:01

Thanks ladies! I'm not going to lie I am pretty terrified!

Nausea has really hit with full force in the past 48hours, I'm feeling pretty terrible but at least I know there's a good reason for it! We're off on holiday on Sunday for 2 weeks so I called the GP to get some cyclizine to take with me incase it becomes worse whilst we're away, he was really lovely and happy to give it to me over the phone. Sorry to hear some of you aren't feeling well either!

Picklesandpies · 28/06/2018 19:33

Well this evening's been interesting. We had a viewing of our house booked so we went out for dinner - parked in town car park near restaurant. Wasn't feeling great when we set off but thought I'd be ok once there. Sat outside but didn't make any difference - retched when I yawned so went back to the car on my own where I was sick (thankfully into some nappy bags - the glamour.) Called my husband to ask him to cancel my food order. After a while I felt better so went back to join my family and I ordered some bread. The waitress who brought it over then said 'Are you feeling better? Those first three months are so hard when you're feeling ropey.' My dc were just looking at me all confused and I had to quickly make something up about them increasing my medication (I am on it for life) but they were asking 'how does she know?' More lies followed.

Not the most relaxing evening I've had!

Lulabell1 · 28/06/2018 23:39

Ahh ladies looks like you are all feeling the morning sickness now. Im not being sick just gagging a lot? I had my injections for holiday today and worrying what to do now we may not be going..due to fly to Punta Cana in 2weeks for 16days and they have mentioned the Zika virus is still moderate over there. So now freaking out but i am going to call first choice tomorrow find out if we could maybe transfer the holiday over somewhere else!!

MrsY87 · 29/06/2018 05:44

@Picklesandpies that does sound stressful! Hope you managed to cover it up ok, how old are you DC again?

@Lulabell1 hope first choice are helpful, I know a few people who have been able to change their holidays because of zika so hopefully you'll be able to as well.

I'm not being sick just really nauseous and wretching too, I feel like being sick would provide relief. I'm also starving but am then full after about 3 mouthfuls.

So my DH told his mum we're expecting twins and I've messaged her a scan photo and she hasn't even replied to say congratulations. I'm feeling quite hurt by it, am I being over sensitive or is that just weird!?
