Hi everyone, just got a bfp this morning after over a year of trying, so excited whilst trying to keep calm as I recently had a mc. This will be my second baby, would love to chat to others who have just found out too!! Xxx

Any one else's symptoms coming and going a bit? Felt okay this morning (though DH gave me a massive lie-in), so was worried, then had a small nap while DD did and woke up thinking maybe I should keep a bucket by the bed Confused rough a lot of the evening and now feeling okay. It's been like that for the past week or so though so I guess that's just how my body wants to play this?

Since2016 · 23/06/2018 13:37

@smellsofelderberries I have no symptoms other than the horrific bloating, constant weeing and occasional backache. So symptoms but no sickness! Only 5 weeks tho. I remember with DD it came and went a lot xx

TheTittifersHaveSungTheirSong · 23/06/2018 14:10

Wish me luck-I'm just about to head to an all day drinking gig type thing...I'm armed with alcohol free koppabergs which I will decant at the earliest opportunity and tonic to have fake G&t's my OH isn't too optimistic about it all...it's an event that we all usually get pretty drunk at and lots of prosecco is consumed. I figured I stand more chance pretending than outright refusing drink but 🤷🏻‍♀️
Also the need for a constant supply of food may be a give away. And the need for lots of wees. And the bloat.... The struggle is real!

emalady · 23/06/2018 17:32

I'm so glad we don't have anything big coming up for a few weeks. I would be worried about not drinking but also I'm so tired, not sure I could cope with socialising for a whole day.
I have got myself some travel sickness bands which are helping, I also have some cyclizine for the worst days /long days at work.
I had a second early scan, still have a heartbeat and gone from 3.1mm to 9 between week 6 and 7. Very pleased. Probably going to have one more at 9 weeks for reassurance.

SpringfieldMummy · 23/06/2018 21:07

I managed to pull off fake drinking today at a bbq. Decanted a bottle of gin and put water in it so it looked like I was still pouring myself gins, just had to make sure no one else had one!

I've told the woman I sit next to at work as we had a works do on weds and I needed a wingman. And so far 6 close friends because of drinking events or just generally wanting them to know to support in case things go wrong. Plus we've been open about trying so people have asked how it's going anyway.

Going away with DHs family at 9 weeks so they'll all know then (no way of disguising it on a week long hol with big boozers), so I'll prob tell my parents the weekend before when I see them. My brothers partner is a few weeks ahead of us so 🤞 it'll be lovely news from both of us

Lulabell1 · 23/06/2018 22:18

Hello lovely ladies haven't posted all week had a big scare on Thursday pains and a bleed, had a scan and all is well!! And finally got a due date too 6th Feb further gone than I thought. To all those feeling a bit down and sick just think positive that's all DP keeps telling me all for a good cause Smile. Has anyone noTiced that there's another Feb 2019 chat?

bowlershoe · 24/06/2018 02:07

Hello..hope it's ok to post here.. I found out today that I'm 4wks 4 days.. due 27th feb. I'm so so tired but can't sleep!! Recently diagnosed with factor v Leiden after 3 mc in the last year. I have two wonderful children aged 11 and 7.. i'm 38 and wondering if I'm pushing my luck but hoping this one will stick...good luck to you all xxxxx

TheTittifersHaveSungTheirSong · 24/06/2018 07:26

I think I got away with the fake drinking! Had a few sips of prosecco which I then chucked, my 0%koppabergs in a cup (as the big blue label is a bit of a giveaway) a few people tried it but couldn't tell the difference because it's so sweet anyway. And then fake g&t's. Success!

emalady · 24/06/2018 10:28

@springfieldmummy and @thetittifershavesungtheirsong nice work, good effort with the faux gin and decanting of alcohol free beverages. I had forgotten a do with the in-laws this weekend but luckily someone needs to drive so that's a good excuse.

@lullabell glad your scan was OK especially after a bit of a scare. My DH also keeps reminding me it's good I feel sick. Think it's a bit easier when it's not you dry heaving at work though!! Hadn't noticed another group but I hadn't looked. Probably not as cool as us?! 😎

@bowlershoe congratulations and good luck, are you on blood thinners now then?

Since2016 · 24/06/2018 12:10

Well done @TheTittifersHaveSungTheirSong and @SpringfieldMummy I'm just headed into town for my first lunch trialling the antibiotics- the horrendous ones you can't drink with - line. We'll see! Toddler and hubby in tow too.

Glad all ok @Lulabell1 bleeding in early pregnancy is utterly terrifying. I had it with DD 3 days after I found out. It's actually so common though but not talked about. Glad all ok tho!

@bowlershoe welcome and congratulations!

I caved and did another test today -
An IC one - test line appeared before the control and as dark as / if not darker. So that's pretty comforting at 5 weeks! Perfect progression from the initial tests!

Anyone else's DH ridiculously OP at the moment? I'm not allowed to do anything. He was like this with DD but thought he'd have calmed down this time... 🙄

Since2016 · 24/06/2018 12:12

Ps. @SpringfieldMummy my SIL was 3 months ahead of me last time and it was really nice to be pregnant together! My good friend and I had due dates days apart too - it's so nice to be able to share it all with someone esp the first time!

Picklesandpies · 24/06/2018 12:14

Hi @bowlershoe and congratulations. I am similar in terms of family - two dc age nearly 11 and 8. I had a mc in April but am now 7+4 and feeling very sick which like others say I should try to see as a positive! I'm 34. Feels yonks since I was pregnant and I hardly remember anything since last time so feels all new again. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Picklesandpies · 24/06/2018 12:16

@Lulabell1 Glad all is well after your scan. The anxiety is awful if you have a scare. I bled on and off all the way through first dc and it was all ok but know how scary it can be.

Koalatom1 · 24/06/2018 14:51

Ohhh hadn’t noticed there was another chat.

Glad the scan was reassuring for you!

Back from holiday and so glad. Can’t beat sleeping in your own bed. Been busy mowing the lawn, unpacking & sorting out the kids toys. Ridiculous how much we have and they don’t play with.

Not sure what to do with the presents we’ve been given, as it’ll be noticed if they aren’t here anymore but they really do take up a lot of room 😩

Koalatom1 · 24/06/2018 14:52

I’m also 8+1 and he sickness has stopped. Wouldn’t know I was pregnant, which is freaking me a little...

Picklesandpies · 24/06/2018 15:40

@Koalatom1 welcome home Smile. Maybe you feel better because you aren't in that crazy heat? I'm feeling a tad better today. It comes and goes in terms of how bad it is for me. Had another migraine last night which was a treat!

Picklesandpies · 24/06/2018 18:08

What were the presents for @Koalatom1?

Koalatom1 · 24/06/2018 20:10

@picklesandpies I hadn’t thought of that!!

Birthday or Xmas presents that we’ve accumulated from the kids...gah!

Rowse · 25/06/2018 16:05

After suffering for two weeks with bad nausea and actually being sick for the first time this morning I was so relieved when my sickness bands arrived in the post today and to find that they've actually really helped!

I wish I'd bought some sooner now. Thought I'd post just in case anyone was considering trying them. I used them as a child for sea sickness and it do anything so didn't have high expectations for them this time.

Hope you're all feeling okay in this heat!

globetrotter2016 · 25/06/2018 17:01

ladies ladies ladies...hello there... joining up and reserving my seat... had a positive pregnancy test on father's day but have been too Shock to post up till now.. this will be DC #2; not entirely sure how many weeks I am as came off pill and conceived straight away so dates could be 5 weeks or 6 weeks...first MW appointment tomorrow, hopefully they will offer a dating scan to clear up that confusion
I am really not good with this MN thread malarky and much prefer a facebook group as I find it so much easier to follow specific topics etc... my lovely friend from my previous bus has set one up...who wants to join? (gather round gather round ;) xx

MrsY87 · 25/06/2018 17:30

Hi @globetrotter2016 congrats! how old is your DC? I think someone did already set up a fb group, just checking it's the same one as would be a shame to end up with 2! I found the fb group much easier to follow on my last bus too but might wait til after my early scan to join.

Had a lovely nap today whilst DS had his lunchtime nap! There are definitely benefits to being pregnant whilst still on mat leave!! Definitely find my nausea worst between 4-8ish which obviously coincides nicely with tea, bath, bed for the kids so they're eating lots of easy food & watching a lot of tv! Oh well you do what you have to do right?!

emalady · 25/06/2018 19:37

@rowse I forgot to wear my sickness bands today as I was feeling much better this morning, what a mistake, feeling awful now, really need to find them.

I made the mistake of going in the garden for a couple of minutes. It's far too hot. Tried to help dh and ended up vomming. So ladylike!

Rowse · 25/06/2018 19:48

@emalady oh no, I hope you find them quickly! The heat is so intense, I've found it really exhausting. That sounds horrible, hope you feel much better soon.

globetrotter2016 · 25/06/2018 19:51

@MrsY87 DC is nearly 2- little rascal...no worries let me know when you want to join and I'll PM you the details xx

AKAlucy · 25/06/2018 20:27

@Rowse Thanks for the sickness bands tip. I’ve just bought some from amazon and hope they make a difference as feel lousy. 8.30 seems to be my new bedtime- hope this doesn’t last too much longer- it’s not fun at this time of year😟
