I’m creating this thread so that we can continue the October 2018 baby bus. Only one page left on ours and once it completes we can’t share this link so getting this done now .... all aboard!

I mean @EffRam said, baby brain is kicking in 🙈

wednesday93 · 30/05/2018 10:53

@Hayleyxmx thank you! I'll book an appointment at the doctors haha

unicornchaser · 30/05/2018 11:07

Thanks @EffRam will get an appointment booked for it 😊
Is everyone going to get the flu jab? Never had to have that one before but definitely thinking I will in September for some immunity for bubs being born on Oct!

EffRam · 30/05/2018 11:10

I will have the flu jab. I have it every year anyway due to working in the NHS and with snotty children, but I definitely don't want to be managing flu and a newborn! They said new batch should be out in september.

Doll87 · 30/05/2018 12:50

I was sent a letter by the hospital calling me in for my whooping cough injection, i got it at the same time as my 20 week scan so all done in one go :)

twobambinos · 30/05/2018 12:51

Oh thanks for the reminder I had forgotten about the vaccine I'll see if the doctor will give it to me tomorrow when I'm in for a check up.

My dh arrived home with a little outfit for the baby last night I was so happy. I had spent the day searching online for mat clothes with not much luck. Was feeling a little down in the dumps

sparkling123 · 30/05/2018 13:13

@belles86 - stocked up on those exact things about a month ago.
Also been buying maxi tank dresses from places like Peacocks to keep me cool. I'm booked for whopping cough but no one has mentioned flu jab to me, is this something you have to ask for yourself or is it offered at some point. Had my 20 week scan this week, we're expecting a little girl, such a relief as I had to go in to A&E last week for some unexplained bleeding, bright red. Not sure if it's the same where everyone else is but before 16 weeks you go to Early Pregnancy for things, after 20 weeks you go to Maternity, so if your 16-20 weeks and you need to be seen (for bleeding, etc) you're in no mans land and have to go to A&E?

Hotchocolate86 · 30/05/2018 13:38

sparkling where I am it’s early pregnancy up to 20 weeks and maternity from then on. Congratulations on your scan. I hope you don’t get any more bleeding.
I booked my whooping cough vaccine after reading this thread this morning so thank you everyone for chatting about it and reminding me I need to have it.

sparkling123 · 30/05/2018 13:55

@hotchocolate, wish they did that here, would have happily waited for a normal appointment at antenatal unit but instead was at A&E for 6 hours.

Doll87 · 30/05/2018 15:25

I have a very active little baby today, kicking and fidgeting all day on and off! usually only feel her early morning and evening but today has she's clearly been exploring! Yesterday she seemed to be happy sat on my bladder as i couldn't stop weeing and felt so uncomfortable, today shes having a right party in my tummy, tomorrow she'll probably have worn herself out and sleep all day! just waiting now for the little kicks to hard enough for hubby to feel

I don't believe in any superstitions. If anything goes wrong it wasn't because you had a cot bought well that's my thoughts anyway. We had the nursery done and dusted by about 20weeks on the first. And sure it was there from the get go for the rest.

@milknosugar1 that will be all he will buy now. He was just humouring me I think. The clothes shopping will be my job going forward I don't mind though

Belles86 · 30/05/2018 19:12

@sparkling123 Ah cool; will check peacocks out (if I pass one 😂)

Has anyone else had massive bump growth? I’m 22 weeks tomorrow and over past 2 days have grown to basketball proportions. Somewhat terrified that I am going to be HUGE 😬😬

justtowarm · 30/05/2018 19:39

@sparkling123 here I could see early pregnancy until 14 weeks. Then A+E, GP or midwife until 20 weeks. When my bleeding was really bad A+E admitted me to the gynae ward, which apparently is what happens here until you are 20 weeks and maternity will see you :)

@Belles86 my bump seems to have suddenly grown over the last week! Week 20-21 I'm hoping I look pregnant now :)

sparkles212 · 30/05/2018 20:23

Jumping on! Dur Oct 25th. Good luck to everyone with upcoming scans. Mines on Monday and I'm getting very nervy!

Belles86 · 30/05/2018 21:00

@justtowarm aw good, also pleased to leave the pregnant not pies club! I love it, I’m just unsure how much bigger it’s going to get each week 😂

2ndPGchimp · 31/05/2018 08:12

Yes, I am 21+4 and last weekend caught a glimpse of my side profile in a shop window and realised I am suddenly huge!

We have our scan today but not until 5:15, which feels like a long wait! We had been planning not to tell our 3 year old until we were certain about gender but the clever so and so worked it out last week and asked if the baby could come out to play now! He has been so sweet since then, giving the bump cuddles and strokes - although I imagine the reality of an actual baby might be quite different!

sparkling123 · 31/05/2018 09:13

@justtowarm, that's what I thought would happen to me but I ended up on normal A&E ward and in the x-ray / ultrasound department. But I'm 20 weeks today so from now on can book an appointment for next day etc, so much better. I just read your posts in this thread and seen you had been in for checks but bleeding has now stopped, hope that you're alright now and glad to hear your baby girl is ok Smile. I had bleeding at 12 weeks as well and had to go in, also found that resting made the bleeding ease off, even though the doctors said it would make no difference to outcome, but I am now convinced that resting was important.

Penguina · 31/05/2018 23:07

Scan day tomorrow! I keep forgetting it’s to check for anomalies rather than just the sex!

I was a little superstitious with my first and she was starved of oxygen when she was born. It was absolutely nothing to do with the fact we already built the buggy or that I kept seeing singular magpies. From the moment she was born I forgot all about superstitions ! I wouldn’t worry about anything like that!

Now starting to see kicks from the outside which is just so surreal. How on earth am I 20 weeks already! Arrrrrghh

Scan all good yesterday. Confirmed that it is another boy as they thought at 12 weeks. They were experimenting with a new 4D scanner so after our normal scan they asked if we would mind being a practice patient. It was amazing (and a bit freaky) seeing the baby in 3D! Made it feel so real because it really looked like a baby already!

Good luck today @Penguina

Filzma · 01/06/2018 10:44

@Ceebs85 @justtowarm @EffRam thank you so much. Thankfully it's subsided after I started complaining about it! Xx

Anomaly scan today and I'm so nervous and excited ! Last scan, they had to measure my blood pressure twice because it was so high the first time due to all the nervousness. Silly me!

I am hours away from the appointment and I still cannot decide whether I want to know baby's gender or not. I'd like it to be a surprise but I'm also so curious at the same time! Decisions, decisions.....

Lovely to read everyone's messages and see what you've all been up to. I love this group! It's so reassuring Smile No superstitions here. I bought so many baby things from the Baby Show in May. My mother in law insisted on keeping the pram at hers but I don't mind - saves us the space.

My bump has grown lots in the past two weeks, which is rather lovely. I find other people's comments pretty irritating though (perhaps it's just my hormones) but two weeks ago so many were saying how I looked like I've just had a big dinner rather than being pregnant whilst now that it's grown they keep going on about how I've gotten "so big".

Anyway... we're over halfway there now, ladies 🤩
