I’m creating this thread so that we can continue the October 2018 baby bus. Only one page left on ours and once it completes we can’t share this link so getting this done now .... all aboard!

@unicornchaser great idea about the new thread.I'm sure it won't be long before we get some arrivals on there theres always a few very early arrivals.

I just have a little basket @havetothink that I leave in the sitting room with nappies, napy bags, wipes, caldesene powder, vaseline, the vit D drops, bibs or Muslims, one spare vest and one spare baby gró and a folding change mat. I replenish every day. You could have that up a bit higher is you think dd1 would be taking stuff off shelves.

We have the same then in our changing unit in the nursery just more of everything. So it's easy to see what stocks are running low but at the moment there's nothing in it. Grin

@milknosugar1 I agree about the swimming its lovely. I was floating around the pool on holidays on one of those long foam kind of stick things it was bliss. Great movement without the actual swimming.

Being stuck at the desk today I really felt it by home time. Things are getting very cramped and uncomfortable. Maybe I'll bring mat leave forward another bit Grin

unicornchaser · 23/07/2018 19:39

True @twobambinos, will do it sooner then! Figure a new thread with that as post 1 will be the easiest way of keeping track of who is when Smile

Excited to see the first arrivals!

Flamingo19 · 23/07/2018 19:41

31st October here, the very end Smile

TinyTerror1 · 23/07/2018 20:49

I also went swimming for the first time today. Initially triggered some pretty nasty round ligament pain but after a few lengths it eased. Was so nice to get some exercise other than walking! I only did a gentle half hour but I really enjoyed it.

Think it has put baby in a different position too as I am getting more wriggles than kicks today!

RhiBee29 · 23/07/2018 21:21

Definitely up for a new thread or WhatsApp. I'm on an fb group from when I had DS in 2014, there's only about 20 of us and we're all still very active and a few of us have met up. It's lovely!

Autumn can’t come soon enough!
Craving boots and warm drinks and hats and rain! 😬😬😬

Havetothink · 23/07/2018 21:46

29° in ours, I just had a cool bath but don't know how I'm going to sleep, might have to move downstairs. Probably going to have the second ice cream of the day in a minute.

@unicornchaser good shout re the new thread / whatsapp! I don't really use FB

It rained really heavily today but I was driving home from work - managed to get a long section of wet motorway then it was muggy again when I got home urgh. Was so desperate to go stand in the rain!

Can't remember if I've already asked this but has anyone signed up for NCT? Ours starts on 1st September, bit nervous!

TinyTerror1 · 24/07/2018 07:11

Can you post a link to the new thread when it's up? 🙂

Caoraich I'm doing NCT, our classes start 23 August. I'd rather they were sooner tbh! Why are you nervous?

Off to the hospital this morning so they can check on my placenta function. Had some fairly predictable nightmares, thankfully baby is still wriggling 😍 so I can dismiss them for now 🙄

ATP1000 · 24/07/2018 09:09

This online hypbobirthing class looks good, £35. I think the company has been mentioned on here already. I’m going to give it a whirl as there are no classes near me. Just hope the accent isn’t too annoying, some of the YouTube recordings just wind me up!

Yes to the WhatsApp group! I’ve come off Facebook lately, trying to stop using it as i wasn’t really posting much and had only really been on it before for a fitness group but not doing that at the moment!!

Good luck with your scan today @tinyterror1.
@milknosugar1 that made me laugh, we have sprinklers in the communal garden of our flat, I was very close to lying underneath them yesterday ! I probably will if this heat lasts another fortnight.

Totally agree on swimming it’s lovely, I got round ligament pain to start with but now just use a float to kick with, not allowed to do breast stroke as I have dodgy hips. I also do aqua aerobics and underwater spin which is good fun!

I have my eye on that hypnobirthing course too. Just need to find the energy to give it a go!

Have had the scan and all ok. Fingers crossed next week's growth scan shows she is growing just fine. Could do without all this stress!!

Havetothink · 24/07/2018 10:14

Well I gave up and slept downstairs on the sofa bed last night (was starting to feel sick with the heat). I did manage to sleep and woke up feeling less like a shriveled prune which was great but my hips are killing me today, evidently they missed our nice soft mattress topper. It's always one thing or another isn't it.

Havetothink · 24/07/2018 11:28

I may be wearing freezer blocks as an accessory from now on Smile

Yeah, there's no way I could lie on the sofa without it folding out, and omg the dust that was in there (haven't used it since we got it years ago) it was full of toddler crumbs and fridge magnets.

TinyTerror1 · 24/07/2018 13:07

Thanks milknosugar. The food thing is getting me down a bit. At today's clinic I was asked to start checking my sugars 7 times a day as I've had a few high readings (because I've just moved house and we've eaten out a lot, but she wouldn't accept that). So I'm at a festival this weekend because we booked tickets before I knew I was pregnant, which is already enough of a concern especially given the weather, without having to try to find healthy food and somewhere clean to check my bloods 7 times a day Hmm

Forgot to say - you mentioned it a few posts ago - it is law that if you are signed off for a pregnancy-related condition in the last 4 weeks before your due date you have to start your maternity leave then. So not just your work being awkward/helpful (whichever you were thinking!).

MamaL86 · 24/07/2018 14:26

Hi all, it's been forever since I posted on here - sorry for the radio silence!
I've taken DS away to the seaside for a couple of days quality time together before baby. So lucky with the gorgeous weather although he keeps wanting to bury my legs in the sand and I fear I may not make it up!
I'm sure this has already been covered but wondered which pushchair/travel system you've all opted for?

lovesrunning · 24/07/2018 15:50

Oh @Tinyterror how annoying for you. You could do with just having fun and not worrying about it for a few days - do you think that’d go down well or badly with your doc? Would it do any harm do you think? Or have they scared you enough to be good all the time? I’m only asking because my own will power is almost non existent so I’d end up at the burger van.

I’d be well up for a whatsapp group or new post as I’m not on FB and forget to check in with this very often.

@Hayley enjoy getting back to the cool! Is that where you live? With people in different time zones we should be able to guarantee moral support somewhere during those night feeds in a few months Grin

As for buggy, I went for a Bugaboo cameleon because my friend’s mum saw a bargainous second hand one on eBay. I was quite happy to have the decision making taken away to be honest. There was too much choice otherwise. Getting it back on the plane last night (without an actual baby) was interesting... it seems very good though!

lovesrunning · 24/07/2018 15:51

PS @mama have a great time at the seaside!

TinyTerror1 · 24/07/2018 17:20

@lovesrunning unfortunately if I don't demonstrate that I can rigorously control my GD through diet alone this week they will put me on medication (which among other things makes heartburn worse, so not so keen on that). The doctor was completely unsympathetic to any sort of reason why it might be difficult right now. The timing is just really crap but meh. I could have it a lot worse really. Must keep telling myself that Wink

Buggywise I'm getting a hand-me-down baby jogger citi mini HD. It fits with various brands of carrycot/car seat etc. Currently has a MaxiCosi carrycot so I'll probably just get their car seat too. Very glad to avoid all the research!

Havetothink · 24/07/2018 17:29

I've gone for a second hand phil and teds dot, it's one of the only doubles that would fit the boot of my car, it's a bit heavy but hoping I'll be able to manage it. Might get a carrier too.

Hayleyxmx · 24/07/2018 18:21

Yes @lovesrunning me and my partner split our time between our U.K. home and are home in turkey. Can’t complain 🙂 we are going to stay all winter in the U.K. this year so strange we haven’t spent Christmas in the U.K. for years. So excited to have an extra member to the family aswell.
