I’m creating this thread so that we can continue the October 2018 baby bus. Only one page left on ours and once it completes we can’t share this link so getting this done now .... all aboard!

@Milknosugar1 I did not know that about sushi!! Well, I’ll probably hold off for another 10 weeks and then go ham shortly after.

Ps, whoever mentioned nausea, I had this this morning! Was looking through cookbooks for inspo and everything sounded vom..

Belles86 · 22/07/2018 21:53

@tiny what’s your due date?

In fact, when is everyone’s? I’m 4th oct but she’s my first so who knows! 🤷🏻‍♀️

Havetothink · 22/07/2018 22:11

8th October, hoping as it's my second it'll be a bit earlier but it's probably wishful thinking.

caoraich · 22/07/2018 23:00

I'm the same Smithguy86 with the sickness and the tiredness. I am basically only still doing my pregnancy yoga because of the nice nap at the end Blush

Feeling totally exhausted but the iron tablets are making the sickness worse. Bought some liquid iron as thought it might be easier to keep down but it tastes awful!

@twobambinos totally agree about the random judgement, though! Recently had someone on the train randomly telling me I "shouldn't be out so late in your condition" - I was on my way home from the cinema at 11pm!

Am due 17th October - ML is starting on 28th September but not sure I can wait that long, for one thing we have sooo much still to do to the house to make it baby-habitable etc

ATP1000 · 23/07/2018 00:32

All this food sounds fantastic! I’m on the fast for the glucose test tomorrow morning. No midnight feasts for me!
I’m looking forward to cheese and wine and cured ham the most! Also feeling properly hungry rather than just nauseous and shaky if I haven’t eaten enough.

I’m back with nausea now, haven’t been sick but close to it. Definitely feel it’s cos my stomach is squished. Also heart burn is here, got a permanent sore throat lately.

My due date is Oct 19th. I finish work on sep 29th.

Smithguy86 · 23/07/2018 01:10

My official due date is the 22nd of Oct but because it's twins they won't let me go past the 8th of Oct! We get an induction date at our appointment next week! I finish on the 10th of aug I've 4 weeks holiday then maternity, they advise with twins that you don't work past 30 weeks, so hopefully they next three weeks go quickly!

I can't wait to have wine and gin and cheese and rare steak!

Hayleyxmx · 23/07/2018 07:29

Apparently I shouldn’t be having anything with a fizz as it disturbs the baby and can be very bad. I honestly never been so shocked I asked at the bar for a soda water. I said oh I’ll have a Coke Zero aswell please she looked at me like I was the devil incarnate 🤣

TinyTerror1 · 23/07/2018 08:16

Never heard that before about fizzy drinks! And I've had a session with a dietitian for my gestational diabetes so I think you can relax and have your soda water!!

My due date is 7th October. That's a Sunday so I don't know if they induce on weekends or if it will be before that. But everything is up in the air until we know how baby is reacting to the GD. As they currently think she's small they could decide to take her out at any point, which is slightly scary, but I'm hoping the next growth scan will show she is growing fine and can stay put until at least mid-Sept.

Doll87 · 23/07/2018 08:18

Wine. That is all lol! (Sound like such an alchy but it's been so hard not drinking this summer!)

Oh god, weather forecast for Brighton (where I am) this week...up to 35degrees. I can't cope. I have never known such a loooooooong summer! 😫😫😫 sweaty and fretty, and feeling like an absolute heffer!

Doll87 · 23/07/2018 08:19

Also, I've been drinking tonic water lately, find it really refreshing. I did look it up before hand and said it was ok to drink...have I been misinformed? 🤦🏻‍♀️

Havetothink · 23/07/2018 08:42

I can't stand the heat, I slept under a cold damp towel last night but it only worked for two hours Sad I swear even my eyes are sweating.

TinyTerror1 · 23/07/2018 09:07

@Doll87 I think tonic water is ok in small quantities. From what I can make out, some countries advise against it because of the quinine, but it is quite a small amount so I think it's fine. The NHS doesn't say anything about it.

Belles86 · 23/07/2018 13:14

ahh ok, so there's a few of us early Oct, cool! Currently figuring out when to leave work, think will go at 37 weeks all being well..

Sorry if this has been said before but has anyone found any good (free) hypno-birthing resources? Am starting to get a little scared and thought it might be worth a try!

:)

lovesrunning · 23/07/2018 13:40

Can you believe we’re in the third trimester or almost there?! Seems like only a couple of weeks ago baby was the size of a blueberry. And yet at the same time 9 months seems to be dragging on forever...

Just about to leave uk after two lovely weeks at home. Seriously how have you survived in this heat for so many weeks? It’s been torture. I’m looking forward to getting back and cranking up the air con. Sorry, polar bears.

About hypno birthing, my friend said she had a ‘really lovely’ labour after attending a course near her but she also found The Positive Birth Company on YouTube really good. I haven’t started watching yet as I’m still in denial but will soon.

Due October 17th same as you @caoraich :) before we know it they’ll start arriving. Finishing work on the 4th. Can’t wait to hear the first baby announcement!

TinyTerror1 · 23/07/2018 13:43

I was thinking 37 weeks but now I'm thinking start of Sept (~35 weeks) - I'm self-employed and I book in work a week or two in advance, so things could get tricky especially with the potential for early induction. Plus I'm not very good at taking time to sort stuff out so I will probably need a few weeks just to get everything how I need it before she arrives.

Hayleyxmx · 23/07/2018 13:55

@Belles86 I downloaded the Kathrine graves hypnobirthing cd off iTunes but I struggled to get into it. So still leaving my birthing plan open and maybe try and get on a course price depending.

@lovesrunning I feel your pain I’m back to turkey soon and it’s currently 39-42 degrees I think I’ll be staying in my house with the air conditioning on and curtains shut

twobambinos · 23/07/2018 14:08

I found yesterday really stuffy. And couldn't sleep last night so I'm worn out today. Counting down the minutes till I can go to bed. Or at least go home and strip off Grin

Sorry to hear others are struggling. I have a consultant appointment this week so unless that throws up any curve balls I'm going to put my finish date as 3 weeks before due date and maybe take a week of hols before that too so only about 6 weeks left in work. Yay.

unicornchaser · 23/07/2018 14:27

I propose (and I'm willing to do it) that we start a new thread say in September and kick it off with the due dates for everyone.
I think it would be lovely to be able to easily see when we are all due and can check in on each other as and when our times come?

Of course so long as everyone else is wanting to share it!

Belles86 · 23/07/2018 14:45

@lovesrunning and @Hayleyxmx thank you both! Will check 'em out. I'm a fairly cynical bod but am trying to have an open mind!

@unicornchaser that sounds nice :)

@unicornchaser that would be a great idea as I’m struggling to keep up with who is due when.

15th October with my first baby girl 🙂

Doll87 · 23/07/2018 15:29

@Milknosugar1 I've been meaning to go swimming for ages but this heat has put me off....(the getting dressed after bit) but your message has made me really wanna go now! I only really have chance to go either before or after work and to be honest neither has appealed to me atm! I will try harder and perhaps go one morning this week :)

Yes I'd be up for a new thread or WhatsApp. I don't really use social media much.

Can I ask a maybe really stupid question: what essentials have you got in your baby changing unit? So far I have nappies and wipes...

Hayleyxmx · 23/07/2018 16:14

@Doll87 you have more than me I have my ikea changing unit still in flat pack form 🙈

unicornchaser · 23/07/2018 16:23

And more than me since mine is still in a shop and yet to be bought 😆

Think I'm going to keep it in the living room as will be used most during the day there so, I plan on putting nappies/wipes/sudocrem/cotton pads/balls, some kind of moisturiser/skin cream for any dry skin and probably keep a couple of changes of vests/sleep suits for emergency changes! And maybe a toy he likes try and stop the hysteria all babies give at being changed!

Havetothink · 23/07/2018 17:58

We have a changing unit from last time but I'm a bit worried dd1 will either throw everything off the shelves or climb it or both. I was hoping to get by without it but dh wants to save his back and use it, not sure Confused
