I’m creating this thread so that we can continue the October 2018 baby bus. Only one page left on ours and once it completes we can’t share this link so getting this done now .... all aboard!

Oh no @Havetothink that sounds awful I’m pretty good with sleeping tend to pass out around 10:30 for a good 8-9 hours I don’t even need the toilet in the night. Hope it doesn’t stick around.

I tell you what I have found though, how judgemental other mothers and mums to be are! At 31 and a FTM I don’t consider myself to be naive but the amount of unwanted advice and remarks you get is ridiculous. if I want to buy a coming home outfit from the white company and not primark surely it doesn’t matter I wouldnt judge someone if they wanted to get everything 2nd hand as long as mum and baby are happy who cares pfft. And if I want to have a soda water I’ll bloody well have one! It’s not a 2 litre bottle of coke I’m drinking! I just needed a little rant.

I'm 30 weeks now but I like to be organised I'll have it packed in the next two or three weeks. I suppose there really is no rush to pack it u could always send someone out for the stuff if u ended up with a surprise delivery. Im just a bit fussy like to be organised and don't want to be having to trek around when I am maybe less mobile later on.

twobambinos · 22/07/2018 10:48

Having said that I have no stuff organised for the baby except clothes so far. I'd want to get dh to get the cot and things out of storage and go and buy the car seat Grin

unicornchaser · 22/07/2018 14:34

That's true @twobambinos about not wanting to do it when less mobile....
I am away for the weekend when I am 31 weeks to let dh paint the house so probably get everything sorted for the nursery after that and do the bag at the same time.
Will help that I'm now not working so have more time I guess than most!

God so jealous @Hayleyxmx!! I take an hour to fall asleep and then wake every 2 hours for the loo!

Im so done with feeling so tired! I have just woken from a nap after taking the dog a 4K walk this morning!! Pre pregnancy we would happily go 10 mile jaunts at the weekends so looking forwards to getting some level of energy back!
Though, with a baby I likely won't see that energy again until they are 5 and actually sleep properly!😩

Havetothink · 22/07/2018 14:51

unicornchaser if it makes you feel better my dd is 2 and sleeps through the night 99% of the time, has done since she was about 1, 8pm - 6am give or take an hour.

Hayleyxmx · 22/07/2018 15:07

I’m only 28 weeks @unicornchaser maybe iv got it all to come 🙈

Feeling much better today thanks @milk so looks like it was a one off.

unicornchaser · 22/07/2018 16:41

I'm keeping everything crossed for a good sleeping child, dh sleeps like the dead as does his son and he has done since he was 2-3 too but I have such a crap ability to sleep I have a bad feeling it will be like me!

It really does feel like a lifetime ago, the fastest yet longest 6 months ever!

Has anyone started thinking about what they are most looking forward to doing/eating/drinking post baby?? (Not baby related!)
Mine is a big baked Camembert with fried bacon & onion bits mixed through spaghetti with a couple glasses of wine followed by a huuuuuge gin!
Either that or mulled wine at the Christmas market since I missed out on the summer sangria!

twobambinos · 22/07/2018 17:25

@unicorn definitely a glass of cold white wine. A nice bottle have already told dh to have that ready chilling in the fridge. On a side note I thought baked cheese was OK?

Ya I definitely don't want to be trekking around the shops at the end. Unless I'm feeling up to it. On my first I was in early labour still happily shopping. On my 2nd I had horrible spd and was not a bit able.
This time only mild pelvic pain so far but the last day or two I've noticed a big change so it could come on horrible yet.

I ordered the car seat online today so feel like I've one less thing to sort. A few full on weeks of work coming up too. And you just never know when the baby will arrive but if my last two are anything to go by probably two weeks later than I think.

@hayley people are so quick to ram their opinions on others. Having a bump or newborn just draws the most random stuff on yourself. What's wrong with soda water? I personally prefer the glass of coke and I have been having it. Couldn't it be a lot worse glass of vodka and coke?

Havetothink · 22/07/2018 17:32

Tomato soup, rare steak, glass of prosecco and rolling over in bed without needing to sit up to do it.

Havetothink · 22/07/2018 17:45

hayley I've been drinking the glass of coke too, have what you want as long it it's not making you sick, dh just went to get me more coke, crisps and chocolate and I don't feel a bit guilty (although might regret it later tonight). Buy whatever you want for your baby, i've got a mix of hand me downs, supermarket buys and the odd thing I just couldn't resist. Not organised at all though it's just spread all over the house.

Belles86 · 22/07/2018 18:14

Sushi, gin and tonic, massive glass or white/red wine and my ankles back 😂

TinyTerror1 · 22/07/2018 18:23

Paté, soft cheeses, with a lovely bit of baguette and a glass of red wine or two Grin I can't wait.

@Hayleyxmx have I missed something - why can't you drink soda water? and @Havetothink is there a reason you can't have tomato soup?

I had a spot of nausea yesterday morning. I wonder if it is baby getting a bit bigger and starting to press on odd areas. Hoping it's only intermittent/rare for all of us anyway!

Tomato soup gives me terrible acid reflux for at least two days, it was the first thing I had to give up, closely followed by orange juice.

unicornchaser · 22/07/2018 18:46

I read that mould ripened cheeses (sounds rank like that!) such as Camembert, Brie goats cheese was all a no go?

Also questioning the tomato soup?? And soda water?

Luckily I don't like pate or sushi so hasn't been too hard but feel for all you that have been missing out! Heard pate is one of the hardest to miss out on.
I've been super glad that McFlurrys & mr whippet ice cream is allowed, my sister couldn't have these when she was pregnant 10 years ago and it would have killed me with this summer!!

I have also had a couple of glasses of wine @Milknosugar1, I've been making them into more of a spritzer to last longer but still not quite the same!

@Havetothink ahh that makes total sense. Shame for you Sad

@Milknosugar1 I've had blue cheese on a pizza too, it was sooo good. But baked cheese isn't quite the same as having it raw... Not long to go now though really. I'm 29 weeks so it's just over 24 weeks since I found out I was pregnant and only 11 to go!

Because of my extremely advanced age (40) they won't let me go over 40 weeks... with the gestational diabetes they may even induce me earlier. So I suspect I will win Wink Bring on that cheeseboard!

Smithguy86 · 22/07/2018 19:34

I have been feeling pretty sick again the last week or two and vomiting every other day! The dr said it was more of a mechanical sickness rather than normal in that everything is just being pushed up so less room for the food making me sick!

I am also having terrible back and hip pains I'm barely able to walk any distance! Dr gave me a referral to physio by said it could take a couple of weeks so I'm going for a private consultation tomorrow!

I can't cope with the tiredness I've already had two naps today and could still sleep! But I am having twins so everything is going to be multiplied! I'm 27 weeks tomorrow so only 10 weeks to go for me as 37 is full term for twins and only 3 weeks of work left!

unicornchaser · 22/07/2018 19:43

Omg! Camembert and goats cheese are my faves and I've been denying myself thinking they weren't allowed at all! Will need to rectify this!
My Christmas cheese board will be utterly destroyed too in record time!

Oh @smith, sounds like you are having a tough time, it's bad enough with 1 but 2 must feel like a slog now!

I think I will be last! Possibly between me and @RhiBee29 who I think is also due around the same time! I'm due 30th but have a strong suspicion it will be first week in November for me!

RhiBee29 · 22/07/2018 20:17

Yep @unicornchaser I'm due 29th. DS was 2 days early though so I'm hoping this one follows suit and makes an earlier entry...I need a gap as DS birthday is 1st November!

With DS I had a bottle of wine in the fridge for weeks before he came, I looked at it every time I opened the door, then when DS was born I didn't feel like drinking at all until he was about 20wks old! Definitely looking forward to Christmas, cheese, smoked salmon & wine Wine
