I’m creating this thread so that we can continue the October 2018 baby bus. Only one page left on ours and once it completes we can’t share this link so getting this done now .... all aboard!

The thigh bandelettes are good so far, I’m in a maxi dress and no rolling down yet. I’m just off for a walk and in and out the car so let’s see how that goes! It’s really hot here again today! 😓
I got two pairs of the lace ones which are very similar to the lace part of hold up tights, except the grip is too and bottom of the lace. You need to get the scallop edges completely flat but once on they’re fine. The plain bands looks good too, and possibly more practical. I don’t have a pair of those yet but probably will get one! It’s nice to be able to wear a skirt without walking like a cowboy ! 🙈

Hope all are keeping well, I hear the heat has calmed down a little at home so hope the ones struggling with swelling and heat related niggles are finding some relief!

I'm currently in tenerife and really rather miserable in honesty! Can't cope with the heat at all, can't walk very far, missed out on any of the rides at the water park and I can't even rely the cocktails to give me some joy! Wallowing like a hippo in the pool trying to dodge over excited kids is my only saviour! But I just want to sleep all day!

Also, for anyone still to go away, defo look at bikinis or tankinis! I got swim suits and they are driving me mad the amount of trips to the loo needed for all the water being drank Envy

Moans over and positive hat back on, must make the most the holidays Smile

TinyTerror1 · 10/07/2018 21:33

Oh no unicorn that doesn't sound much fun! The heat in Birmingham seemed much the same today to be honest but I gather it's been better in other areas.

Thanks for the advice re swimwear I hadn't even thought of that! Hope your holiday improves xx

justtowarm · 10/07/2018 21:50

Oh @unicornchaser that sounds rubbish :( it rained here today... but it's still hot and just feels muggy. The 20 minutes it rained were nice though 🙈😂

Hayfever is killing me at the moment. I wish there was something I could take 😭 does anyone know of anything pregnancy safe?

on a positive my hair is looking amazing at the moment and don't have to do anything to it!! I wish it would stay this way forever 😊.... although if people see my puffy hayfever face they may still be horrified... I'll just have to walk around backwards 😂😂😂

Havetothink · 10/07/2018 22:45

Prevalin for hayfever, has saved me. It's a nasal spray, I use it the moment I get up in the morning as you have to use it before symptoms start to get the best effect. It was recommended by a pharmacist (my gp was useless) it states safe for use in pregnancy on the box.

caoraich · 10/07/2018 22:51

Aww no @unicornchaser that sounds pants! Definitely just stay in the pool and float about.

It threatened to rain in Glasgow today and is a wee bit cooler but still dry. I have never known it go so long without rain here!

I've been taking Cetirizine for hayfever, less than I normally would but I'm not too worried. One of the problems with pregnancy meds is that it's not ethical to do actual trials on pregnant women so they have to just go on past case studies etc and what they know from the basic science. I find this website useful www.medicinesinpregnancy.org/Medicine--pregnancy/ -
I have used it with patients in the past as well, as its NHS recommended. Most of my patients these days are blokes so I don't have much call for it at work any more!
Cetirizine and Loratidine are the recommended antihistamines, especially once the 1st trimester is over.

Am really starting to struggle with work - the commute to my day job is just over an hour and I'm absolutely shattered by the end of the day. My car is pretty comfy and has good air con, but definitely feeling more uncomfortable driving as well Sad - sorry, whine whine whine!

justtowarm · 10/07/2018 23:26

Thank you @Havetothink and @caoraich for the advice!! I have some loratadine at home already and as they were fairly confident it's a girl I'm having I think I'll risk taking it on the bad days, I only get bad days for a few days a year and I'll try prevalin on the not so bad days :)

I hope everyone suffering gets some relief soon x

TinyTerror1 · 11/07/2018 07:41

@justtowarm my hair has just started looking fab too, my hairdresser couldn't believe how thick and glossy it looked yesterday (I usually have the world's crappest hair). Typical that when it's looking so good all I want to do is scrape it back off my face to keep cool!! If only it would stay this way forever Sad

Doll87 · 11/07/2018 17:52

28+5 weeks.....oh my god, the tiredness... zombie mode is the only function I have! 😴

justtowarm · 11/07/2018 18:08

@Doll87 I was working from home today but fell asleep for 3 hours! The tiredness is hell! Luckily I've managed to speed work everything I needed to do 🙈. Let's just hope I don't fall asleep in the office tomorrow 😴

sparkling123 · 11/07/2018 18:34

Ah @Havetothink I need to try that, thanks for the tip. Hope everyone is coping with heat, I think when it eventually rains I will just stand outside in it haha

twobambinos · 11/07/2018 19:18

Hi everyone,

I'm not finding the heat too bad thankfully because we are going on holidays to the sun very soon. I have one bikini bought it about two weeks ago so I hope it still fits.

Anyone have a bit of a stinging pain in their bump? I'm rubbing moisturising cream on religiously now because it feels like it's getting very tight. And still 11+ weeks to go. I don't feel like there is anymore room in there for the baby already.

@justtowarm I bet it was a nice nap.

@unicornchaser hope you are less miserable today.

I must really make a list of what I need to buy I was going well for a few weeks but then kind of got tired I think. How is everyone else getting on with the shopping and the baby name decisions?

justtowarm · 11/07/2018 19:33

@twobambinos it was the best nap :)

Doll87 · 11/07/2018 19:59

@justtowarm aww that sounds like a lovely nap! Daytime naps are my fave! I had a 20mins snooze on my lunch break today. It's so hard to keep my eyes open and speech making sense lol!

justtowarm · 11/07/2018 20:17

Haha that will be me tomorrow @Doll87 it's such an overwhelming tired feeling!

Ceebs85 · 11/07/2018 22:27

Can anyone tell me how to join the facebook group? I want to see your faces!

Doll87 · 12/07/2018 09:59

@Milknosugar1 Hahaha so so true!

(sorry APT1000, i used the wrong user name - Preggo brain of course lol)

Ceebs85 · 12/07/2018 10:28

Yeah it's really weird how you build an image. My best mum friend is someone I met through my mumsnet birth group.

RhiBee29 · 12/07/2018 14:14

@unicornchaser I'm in France wallowing in the kids pool like a beached whale! Luckily the temp has dropped here to 22 so feeling a lot better. Alll the bread and pastries aren't helping though, I'm too scared to eat the salad and the meat is cooked rare so also eating a lot of frites. I second the tankini/bikini a swimsuit is too hard to remove for a wee especially when wet!

Trill27 · 12/07/2018 15:21

If anyone is based in South London, I just went past Mothercare in Brixton and they are having a huge closing down sale – everything is at least 20% off. It was very busy so I got a bit overwhelmed and left empty-handed, but might try again tomorrow!

ladydolly · 12/07/2018 20:47

I've been loving the heat! Although it was cooler at night last night and it was such a treat to have the duvet on.

Another vote for good hair! It's so thick and I can go days without washing it - I keep thinking it wasn't like that even with dd1 but I went swimming every morning so I guess I never noticed!

Name - we've got the first name but struggling for a middle name still. Shopping - we have most stuff from DD1, got a buggy last month, I've just bought a new crib mattress and a couple of first and going home outfits. So yeah, pretty much there. I do want some nice pj's for the early days, hard to accommodate my enormous girth, breastfeeding and c section site.

I have a growth scan tomorrow as at my 28 week appointment I measured an epic 6 weeks ahead, I am really very large. She said it might just be lots of liquid or that my first stretched everything but when she gave my belly a feel she said 'oh hello, right there isn't she?!' because it actually is all baby. The limbs I see sticking out feel like my first did right at the end! So my c section date may be moved forward.

Doll87 · 13/07/2018 16:48

@ladydolly WOW 6 weeks ahead? how many weeks are you now then?
