I’m creating this thread so that we can continue the October 2018 baby bus. Only one page left on ours and once it completes we can’t share this link so getting this done now .... all aboard!

SOrry I know this has been mentioned before...
I really struggle with MN and keeping up with things. Do we have a FB group and if so could someone let me know how to get added?

Loving my Aug babies group and would like the same experience with this new baby

twobambinos · 25/06/2018 10:05

Good morning everyone.. Just seen a march 19 thread which means we are getting there. Although some days it may not feel like it at all.

We had another scan last week all seems fine. Baby is measuring a bit ahead. Over a week. I know this means nothing but would be so delighted if he arrived at 39 weeks go make up for the last two going over due Grin

Those chairs look the business very comfy.

How is the swimming going doll

Belles86 · 25/06/2018 10:30

wow a March thread! It's feeling like time is both going very quickly but there is also a long way ahead. Trying not to wish time away but not doing very well!

Mamami · 25/06/2018 11:06

Hi all,

Late to the bus as I can never quite believe it'll all be OK until 24 weeks plus. Anyway here we are! Second little girl (DD is an October '14 baby) due October 6th. I'm trying to catch up with the goings on but hope everyones well.

River93 · 25/06/2018 17:19

Is anyone else struggling in this heat Shock My feet are burning and so swollen! Oh and it’s only going to get worse Grin

ATP1000 · 25/06/2018 18:30

I’m struggling! Thank goodness I have the option to walk home in the shade of the buildings than take the underground as that must be unbearable. Thoughts going to everyone struggling wth hot trains and buses.
The heat is unbelievable when in the sun! I am not good in the sun at the next of times!

@River93 very much so! My feet are like trotters 😂

ladydolly · 26/06/2018 07:23

mamami my dd was an oct 14 baby as well but came in nov. Also having another girl (which I am over the moon about).

I feel a bit guilty but I still love the heat. I sleep better when its hot. Maternity wear tends to be a bit more floaty/roomy. People excuse you for sitting down more. Much rather this than getting a massive maternity coat and struggling with a bump in the rain and ice.

I'm kind of struggling with early baby outfits. I'm having a section end of sept and weather has been in the 20's last few years. So would that be long sleeved babygro to come home in? Then dd was 10lb 3 so no newborn clothes fitted but this one could be smaller. Think I'll end up with a few outfits packed!

Very confusing! Surely 1 month is the same as newborn? The sizes vary from shop to shop too...

I am going off 3 weeks before my section date, 2 weeks hols then mat leave. For me I need to start mat leave late because I want a year off and then dd1 starts school just around the time I'll be returning to work.
How flexible are your work? You could always go with a date as late as possible then if it's too much see the doc to sign you off earlier? Am I being too sneaky?

twobambinos · 26/06/2018 18:32

I have about 6 up to one month baby gros bought. No new born ones. They usually go to about 7.5pounds. Both my dds were under the weight but barely fit in them so if this one is any bigger it will be straight into the one month ones which are up to about 10pounds. They are kind of a mid way between newborn and 0-3 months.

I'm also confused about the coming home outfit. But I think a blanket a cardigan and a hat could be added quite easily or left off depending on the weather. It's not likely to be bitterly cold at that time of year.

The weeks are starting to tick by nicely now I feel after a few very slow weeks.

I've eaten my body weight in cookies today Confused must try better tomorrow.

I'm planning to take mat leave two weeks before due date but it will really depend on closer the time how I feel its something you can't predict. I I have to add on a week annual leave before it so be it. And work would have to deal with it if baby was born early so the same could be said if you cant walk or stay awake etc.

Hope everyone is feeling good. I am in full nesting mode doing clear outs around the house. I really need to stop buying so much stuff it's just wasteful. Clutter free by September and organised. Well a girl can dream

RhiBee29 · 26/06/2018 20:35

I'm taking mat leave from 12th Oct due 29th.

My DS is 1st Nov, it was freezing and rainy the day we left hospital so he was in a vest, sleep suit and snow suit. Planning to take the same this time as dates are so close. DS was 6lb 6oz and needed tiny baby clothes, up to 1mth and newborn were massive on him.

Really struggling with fat ankles in this weather they feel so tight and uncomfortable 😣

River93 · 27/06/2018 06:37

I’m almost definitely going to be having my baby November as I’m due Halloween Grin I also have no idea on the sizes I’m just buying random sizes in everything and will get anything else at the time I’ve got enough to last me. It will be cold, so just mainly sleepsuits and vests I’ve brought and a few little cardis etc

unicornchaser · 27/06/2018 07:58

Hi all, came away for a couple weeks but I am starting to feel a bit better about everything, I think I just need to shop around to see what style suits my shape at the moment. Thanks for asking
Starting to feel the odd wee kick now, I've got an anterior placenta so it's harder to feel anything. Trying to stay calm that he is ok and kicking away in there even if I can't feel anything.

Silly question, what's the difference between a vest and a sleepsuit for a baby? I just refer to them all as baby grows! Is it just that the vest ones are short sleeved/legged and sleepsuits long? I have bought a bunch of both in various sizes from newborn through to 6-9 months which can be put away until needed. Figure there is no way of predicting so will just take along a couple of newborn - 0-3 months in my hospital bag and see which fits!
Will be a snow suit, hat & mitts in my case though, like @River93 I am likely to go into November being due the 30th!

twobambinos · 27/06/2018 09:02

Sorry when I commented about the weather above I meant at the end of September. It is likely to be wintery by November.

@unicornchaser Vests have no legs they go under the babygros.
Also have anterior placenta have been feeling the kicks out the side and down the bottom. Hopefully soon for you.

booandbumpp · 27/06/2018 17:51

Hello! Just found this thread! I'm due 28th October. Not bought anything but been given a lot of hand me downs from BIL and SIL. Having a boy and starting to feel him kicking now - feels like someone's tickling me from the inside v weird.
Have HG which is not fun.
Hope everyone is ok! Not even thought about going home outfit!! When is everyone planning mat leave? X

RhiBee29 · 27/06/2018 18:02

Anterior placenta here too, getting a good few jabs in the evening now which is very reassuring.

Hi @booandbumpp I'm due 29th so will be here keeping you company at the end. I've bought 5 vests and 3 Muslin cloths so far!

booandbumpp · 27/06/2018 18:11

@RhiBee29 hi! Do you know what you're having? I've only just started feeling him and they're not v strong but I carry a bit of extra weight round my tum so I wonder if that makes a difference?
Dying in this heat!!

EffRam · 27/06/2018 19:35

Hello all! Hope everyone is well. I am also quite enjoying the heat... Am lucky in that I can work from home mainly and house stays quite cool, and have been enjoying early morning and evening dog walks when it's pleasant but not roasting!

Baby does quite a lot of kicking/moving now. I have an anterior placenta but feel quite a lot which is nice, and my husband consistently can feel them most days too!

Should probably get my head in the game for shopping. So far I have the vest that came with the baby box! and that's all. Friends and sister-in-law have been really generous with maternity clothes and I know there are moses baskets/baby baths/slings coming too so I am waiting until nearer the time to sort that and work out what else we need.

I'm planning on working until end of September (due 22nd Oct) but am lucky as I'm studying and September will be quite quiet anyway so I intend to get house and hospital bag ready then (although hoping for a home birth I think it will be easier to have a bag of essentials handy and obviously could well end up going in!)

Havetothink · 27/06/2018 20:33

I'm 25 weeks and I'm seeing a lot of big movements now. Is anyone else seeing a lot of movements at 25 weeks? I had anterior placenta last time and sure I didn't see movement like this anywhere near as early.

ladydolly · 27/06/2018 20:44

@havetothink yes! I had an anterior placents last time but I still had limbs poking in all directions all the time. It started even earlier this time (I'm 26 weeks). Dd now likes to push my belly and have the baby push back! wipes away tear

I'm enjoying the heat! I just love being warm, hate the cold.

I don't have loads to buy but am busy getting bits ready to tart up the spare room for when DD moves. Can't wait to make the move and have space to get the baby stuff out.

RhiBee29 · 27/06/2018 20:59

@booandbumpp no team yellow here looking forward to the surprise.

@EffRam DH is dying to feel kicks but nothing yet, only 22wks though, I'm feeling more so hopefully he'll feel some soon.

ATP1000 · 28/06/2018 08:07

Is anyone else having vivid dreams? Mine are so random and exhausting and sometimes stressful. I’ve woken up tired all this week.

So jealous of all the sun worshipers, I don't cope well with heat at all! We are set for 32 degrees where we are today and I'm going to be hiding in doors with fans on!
And here I was thinking it would be my holiday next week I'd need to concern about, will be cooler in tenerife than it's been at home 😳
