I’m creating this thread so that we can continue the October 2018 baby bus. Only one page left on ours and once it completes we can’t share this link so getting this done now .... all aboard!

@Belles86 hope you're feeling better today and it was just one of those weird unexplainable things that happens. Probably not related but if I have that little sleep (2/3 hours or less) for whatever reason, emergencies, travelling etc I throw up. I've always done it since I was a kid so hoping it is the lack of sleep for you with the added hormones and other crazy stuff going on in our bodies Thanks

sparkling123 · 19/06/2018 20:50

@Milknosugar1 agree with ATP, he needs to be making you extra special packed lunches for the rest of the week, thought it was is who were meant to be getting forgetful Grin

Hi all, thank you for your sweet comments. It turned out to be a pretty intense panic attack and not a TIA. Still a bit baffled by cognitive stuff but like others have said possibly a mixture of hormones and lack of sleep. @milk I hope your MIL is ok after hers last year though.

Also, has anyone weighed themselves recently? I’ve put on a stone and a half 🙊 now making myself walk more and reign it in a bit..

twobambinos · 19/06/2018 22:19

@belles86 glad you are OK. Don't be worried about the weight it sounds normal enough.

Thanks @milknosugar1 that will be lovely ill try it out. It would be so handy.
The crutches sound awful I hope you are able to get some relief.

ATP1000 · 20/06/2018 10:29

@belles86 I’ve put on 11kg, (24lbs) was 74kg before and am 5ft7. About 8kg went on in the first trimester which gave me a fright but it’s averaging out now. Nearly 23 weeks so 1lb a week and less in more recent weeks.

Everyone is different though, initially it depends on they type of morning sickness. I had to eat to feel less sick.

I’m trying to eat more fruit instead of sweets, but mainly to help with constipation rather than calories!!

@Belles86 I was really worried went from 52kgs to 63kgs I’m 5ft5 but now but like @ATP1000 said iv slowed down now at 24 weeks.

ladydolly · 20/06/2018 15:42

For those interested my glider was one of the best investments I made, it’s not the most stylish but good god is it comfy. I still use it every night. My sister recommended getting a nice wide one because once the babies get bigger they’ll hang off either side when you’re rocking! Get a rocking footstool as well if you can, lifesaver. I’ve slept hours in ours before now.

unicorn it could just be the stage you’re at, once I got past 22 weeks my bump looked more neat and separate from my giant norks even though both were bigger. Also, next maternity jeans/shorts have the wait expander button things like the kids clothes!

milk I have polar bear belly too!! I still went for it. I just have the attitude that I’m pregnant and all bets are off. This is how it is.

Walking a mile is overdoing it??? Really? I’m surprised rather than mocking/disbelieving. That will be so hard to manage?

I gained 4 stone with my first and 3.5 stone was gone after 4 weeks so please don’t worry too much. I remember asking my midwife about it and being worried and she just told me to relax and try and enjoy my pregnancy. I’m gaining slower this time thankfully but still more than most people I’m sure.

I think I’m nesting. I keep looking at all the things I want redecorating/fixing/changing in my house. OH is NOT a diy fan so will be presenting a list to negotiate soon.

Just done a lunchtime yoga class my work offer for free, they did loads of adaptations for me so it was like a 1:1 class. So great.

RhiBee29 · 20/06/2018 16:46

I have a meeting with HR in the morning to hand over the MATB1 and arrange maternity leave dates. Initially I thought I'd work until 12/10/18 take 2 weeks hols then start maternity leave on my due date now I'm wavering, should I start maternity leave a week before due date and have 2 weeks leave before that, so 3 weeks off before due date. Is that lazy? I have a desk job but there's 80+ stairs to climb to get there and no lift!

twobambinos · 20/06/2018 17:04

@ladydolly lots of nesting here too. Moving one child out of nursery into a new bedroom to get nursery ready for baby. It gets worse before it gets better my house Is now like a bomb exploded in it and I am only half way thru the moving of the clothes. My shopping is waiting to be put away and I've to put dinner on. Spent all morning in town getting stuff ready for the new school term and the new bedroom and my hips are aching. I will be paying for this tomorrow.

@rhibee29 it's so hard to know how you will feel at the end but I certainly wouldn't think 3 weeks was lazy especially when two weeks of it are holidays.
I'm planning to finish up two weeks before at the moment but that could change and I won't be feeling guilty about it. I'll wait until closer to the time to decide how things are going.

Smithguy86 · 20/06/2018 18:33

@RhiBee29 because I'm having twins the hospital has told me not to work past 30 weeks! Full term for twins is 38 weeks so I'm finishing 8 weeks early 4 weeks holidays then maternity so three weeks definitely doesn't sound lazy!

RhiBee29 · 20/06/2018 21:36

@Smithguy86 thanks, I'm a bit of a workaholic and hate the thought that I'm being seen as lazy. Spoke to DH and he wants me to take 3 weeks. How far along are you now? 8 weeks will give you lots of preparation time!

ATP1000 · 20/06/2018 22:01

I’m taking three weeks off before the due date as annual leave, if I go overdue then I will stay off and start maternity. I’m tired already and can’t wait to be able to rest/not think about work. This will be the first proper time I’ve had off from work since I started working 17 years ago, literally overlapped contracts since then!

I’ll be off for a year which is fantastic and a great result as I work in financial services and these things are not guaranteed!

@ladydolly your chair sounds great, are you able to say where you got it from please? I hadn’t thought about the width but that sounds very useful!

@ladydolly I'm looking for similar but my husband has rolled his eyes at me, I need to convince him this is essential hahaha. Was looking on facebook market place and ebay, where did you find yours out of interest?

ladydolly · 21/06/2018 13:59

I got mine in gumtree. If you can get him into kiddicare to try it (with it reclined) that will change his mind! I don't know what we would have done without it. We both have spent hours during sleep regressions just rocking back and forth. Dd is 3.5 now but in a cot bed rather than big bed so she still climbs on my lap in the chair for storytime every night.

@ladydolly great idea, I'll casually plan a trip soon 😄 @Milknosugar1 yes please! His first reaction was 'they're pretty ugly' then 'do you actually need one?' Haha! It's our first but I know enough that when you're up at 4am you don't care what it looks like as long as it's comfy, read a lot of good reviews and £50 second hand seems ok for something if it will get a lot of use and help with adjusting to sleepless nights. I am working on a plan now, as long as I can coincide it with a trip to Wickes he will go along with it 😂

RhiBee29 · 22/06/2018 12:53

I can't stop eating...my diet is shocking I just want carbs and chocolate. I feel like a ginormous hippo Sad

Doll87 · 22/06/2018 19:20

Hi all! I've not been on for a while so been catching up with everyone's news!
I'm 26 weeks preggo today, 14 weeks to go! My body is starting to really feel it now, ive been absolutely exhausted today, felt like I'd been drugged or something! Just no energy! And baby has found a comfy little spot towards my back, causing me a little bit of discomfort on my bowels and bladder! Lol I'm hoping she moves to the front again soon! She's a very active little monkey, wriggling about! I love feeling her hiccup or kick, it's just so comforting 💕

We bought our nursing chair from Aldi, it's not got a recliner or anything but once you finish using it, you can convert it into a really cute chair. We don't have loads of space so it works for us. And it's sooooo nice!

Next midwife appt is in a couple weeks, I've been given a glucose drink to have before I go to check for gestational diabetes, looking forward to trying that as have heard various stories 😂 I have eaten more chocolate in the last 5-6 months being pregnant than I have in my entire life! I just can't stop, I have no will power. I need it, if I don't have any in the house I get ratty lol! I've put on 2st! I'm dreading the work I'm gonna have to do to lose it after I've had this baby lol! Given up on the gym now (due to the Gym bra not fitting and causing actual pain) and taking up swimming as from Sunday! I've been waiting to swim until it's very obvious I'm preggo!!

I hope everyone else is having a good pregnancy, and the weather isn't causing too much trouble! (I had two showers today and felt I could still smell sweat on myself!) so much glamour 💋 all be worth it tho x

@Doll87 that is lovely as a piece of furniture on its own.
