ow THIS is a good title.
makes me thirsty every tiome

derlor · 19/05/2007 13:39

Need to do a major catch up,
here is a funny wee story to keep you all amused while till i get back......
Theft Warning - please pass onto vulnerable women.

You may have read recently about the person whose kidneys were stolen
while he passed out. Well, read on. Something like this happened to me
and countless other women.

My thighs were stolen from me during the night a few years ago. It was
just that quick. I went to sleep in my body and woke up with someone
else's thighs. The new ones were the texture of lumpy porridge. Who
would have done such a cruel thing to legs that had been mine for years?

Whose thighs were these and what had happened to mine? I spent the
entire summer looking for my thighs. Finally, hurt and angry I resigned
myself to living out my life in jeans and those tights that pull
everything in. Then, just when my guard was down the thieves struck
again.

My arse was next!

I knew it was the same gang, because they took the pain to match my new
rear end to the thighs they had lumbered me with earlier. I couldn't
believe it my new a* was attached at least three inches lower than my
original. Now, my rear complemented my thighs lump for lump.

Frantically I prayed that long skirts would stay in fashion.

Last year I realized my arms had been switched. One morning I was
brushing my hair when I watched horrified but fascinated as the flesh of
my upper arms swung to and fro with the motion of the hairbrush. This
was getting really scary. My body was being replaced one section at a
time.

How clever and fiendish.

AGE? Age had nothing to with it. Age is supposed to creep up, unnoticed,
something like maturity. NO, I was being attacked repeatedly and without
warning. In despair I have given up short sleeved t-shirts.

Last month my neck disappeared faster than the Christmas turkey, which
it now resembled.

That's why I have decided to tell my story. I can't take on the medical
profession by myself. WOMEN OF THE WORLD WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE
That really isn't plastic those surgeons are using. You KNOW where they
are getting those replacement parts, don't you?

The next time you suspect someone has had a face 'lifted' look again.
Was it 'lifted' from you? I think I finally found my thighs and I hope
Cindy Crawford paid a really good price for them!!

THIS IS NOT A HOAX. THIS IS HAPPENING TO WOMEN IN YOUR TOWN EVERY NIGHT.
WARN YOUR FRIENDS!

P.S. Last night I thought someone had stolen my breasts. I was lying in
bed and they were gone! As I jumped out of bed I was relieved to find
that they had just been hiding in my armpits as I slept. Now I am
keeping them safely hidden in my waistband.

LOL

foxybrown · 19/05/2007 14:25

LOL That's a corker Derlor!

riabutterflew · 19/05/2007 14:36

Thanks derlor.

I am keeping my distance as feel like poo and don't want to pass it on!

My bag contains eveything on the hospital list foxy. Including a WHOLE pack of nappies. And an extra towel. Don't know if I've got too much or not enough, but at least it's ready and I won't be knickerless or without a hairbrush (or without any pads at all like the poor girl in the bed opposite when I had DS2).

My mum (who I haven't seen all week and who took one look at me and said this earlier today) gave me what I thought was a good tip, but it might be a bit obvious and I just hadn't thought of it. She suggested I start to wear a pad all the time now just in case (she did spend an hour washing the floor last time...). Will be hunting down the tena lady when I go shopping!

Might be back tonight (unless DH gets his way and I am having a false alarm so he doesn't have to go to work)

Seansfatlass · 19/05/2007 14:42

PMSL Derlor thats FAB!
Thanks girls How have you been feeling Foxy?

Tallulabelle, it feels like normal itchining to me - the type where it itches -you scratch it and it goes. It doesn't come back in the same place, there is no redness or rash, and mine is only on my one foot, though a couple of my fingers feel a bit itchy today. The Midwife at the hospital that I now have to go and see every few days (she deals with high risk prgs apparently) said that do you rub your feet on the carpet or on the sofa when watching TV (which I have been), has your urine been a bit darker (which it has and I was wondering why?). It didn't seem very abnormal itching to me, and as I speak I have no itchness at all. To be fair I have been asked twice this prg about it - last time I went to see MW she did a little check list in my green notes about things to report asap. As I said earlier I did feel a bit sily phoning, a bit neurotic and shall I shan't I? Cos I would hate to waste anyones time. Can you phone you MW or delivery suite for advice?

BadZelda · 19/05/2007 14:45

hmm

Though I did a spot quiz on DH the other day to see what he thought should be in it, and was quite impressed with what he came up with. Having said that, he's not quite so calm under fire... we both forgot the notes last time...DON'T FORGET THE NOTES will be the mantra this time in case I DO end up in hosp.

foxybrown · 19/05/2007 15:26

I don't have a hospital list Ria! i'm packing a bag for DPs benefit more than anything, and its handy to have all the bits together for immediately afterwards anyway. I am impressed you have packed everything into one bag, so would like to know what you have! I've got a bag with pjs, soapy stuff, towel and pads. Then a pile with a pack of nappies, baby gros, cotton wool.

I would have forgotten to tell DP where I keep the notes BZ - thanks for the reminder!

Is Holly around? Wanted to ask you about the Boots Health club thingy you joined. I joined just to get the TENS voucher, but haven't had one yet. How long did it take for you to get it?

BadZelda · 19/05/2007 15:36

Yeah...I was supposed to have gone to the birth centre at St Thomas', which would have been lovely (private room, DH could have stayed the night with me and little one) - but lack of notes put paid to that. Having said that, given that I got there less than an hour before baby made her entrance into the world maybe I was a bit far gone for the birthing centre / pools / etc anyway...she's always been in a hurry.

BadZelda · 19/05/2007 15:45

Yeah...I think almost anything in the hosp bad is expendable / optional EXCEPT the notes

derlor · 19/05/2007 16:13

i don't remember taking my notes last twice but i suppose i must have cause i don't remember NOT taking them IYSWIM?!?!?!? i'm all packed as well but then i will be 38 weeks on Mon Ds was 11 days early so lets get going - he is having his eye operation on Monday so anytime from Tuesday for baby would be peachy!

TALLULAHBELLE · 19/05/2007 16:19

Thanks for info SFL. Have been bothered with painful, burning on bump skin . GP had no idea- had to sit there while she looked up symptoms on net. All that came up were itchy rashes but don't have rash or itch on the painful area. She arranged bloods to check liver function but didn't explain so now am guessing she was checking for OC. Am getting little worried now as it took 6 weeks to get blood results back last time -and there was a problem then with iron count- only got 3 weeks to due date so can't really wait that long! However, she didn't seem at all concerned, didn't suggest I was at any risk or ask about hands, feet, urine etc.

Seansfatlass · 19/05/2007 17:11

Tallulahbelle I'm sorry if I have worried you, please try not to worry. I am bit surprised at your GP, but I suppose tey have to know a bit about everything. I had my blood test at the hospital and they phoned me within 2 hours, so hopefully you will be able to find out on Monday. The one thing they did say to me was to drink lots of water, which I'm sure like the rest of us you are anyway. If you are really worried, come here and chat to the rest of us, or if not phone your hospital directly. Sorry if I have worried you, I just wanted others to be aware as it doesn't (as usual) seem to be something that we are made aware of.

notsolilKel · 19/05/2007 17:23

hi guys, just stepped away from the football (ie, DH) to say hello and to have a bit of a moan. I feel so bloody bored, huge and achey, just want the baby to come now! I don't care if it's a wee bit early - 38 weeks is plenty long enough!!!! I can't take it anymore!!!!!!!

OP posts:
foxybrown · 19/05/2007 17:36

Less than a week, LilKel!

And life will not be the same again, with another lo.

foxybrown · 19/05/2007 18:27

Anyone about? Preferably with SPD knowledge (and I don't mean Space Patrol Delta Power Rangers Daisy!)

Have a pain in the left side of my fanjo with every step I take with my left foot. My left side is my 'problem' side with varicous veins, etc.

I wouldn't have worried about it until I read Holly's post to Ria yesterday saying it was in the fanjo. I assumed it would have been more of a hip thing. So now I'm wondering...

derlor · 19/05/2007 19:06

hey Foxy, does it feel like a hot poker in your fanjo with every step you take????

foxybrown · 19/05/2007 19:32

No, not a hot poker. More like a hard poke with a poker on one side.

I've never heard of it until I started on here, now I'm convinced I've got OC and SPD in the same day!

Am choosing to get a grip and ignore any ailments which don't actually lay me up.

Thanks for getting back to me Derlor. You can take your HV hat off now I hope!

How was your day? How is your SPD?

derlor · 19/05/2007 19:41

Foxy don't worry whaen i was studying for my finals all those years ago i convinced myself i had a different terminal illness every day!!!!

today's been OK but to be honest i'm getting very frustrated at not being able to do the housework which really needs done - should just ignore it and rest but i CAN'T - DH is doing lots but not as much as i would do IYKWIM and i'm struggling with not just getting up and running the hover round.
couple of friends came over today thoughand both thought my bump looked lower than before so here's hoping - Tuesday is my aim....keep that phone of yours at the ready!
have you been bored with the football today??

foxybrown · 19/05/2007 19:46

DP got to go, so I've tried to be "Good Mummy" today and spend some time doing stuff actually with the children! And have managed to cook some things for the freezer.

And so now I can be a slack-arse when he's here tomorrow! Don't you just love pay-back day?!

I know what you mean, no matter how hard they try, they never do it as we would!

foxybrown · 19/05/2007 19:47

Mango juice to get things going. Honestly!

derlor · 19/05/2007 19:51

really, i've not tried mango juice - with DD i tried the following -
brisk walking
fresh pineapple
caster oil and OJ
hot curry
sex
(think it was the sex that worked but suppose we'll never really know)
will get some mango juice though and start taking it from Tuesday morning

foxybrown · 19/05/2007 20:01

My mum's boss is a pharmacist and recommended it. Thereby it comes recommended by a medical professional. And Tescos have pineapples for 99p at the mo, so you should be good for an exotic fruit induction. oo-eer!

I will be around and ready for your text!

derlor · 19/05/2007 20:12

i'll need to pass on the fresh pineapple this time, i ate so much of it last time that i don't think i could ever face it again - i will dring the fresh juice though with lemondae. mmmm pineapple and mango juice with lemonade - could well just bacome my drink of choice till this LO makes an appearance
i got some clary sage off ebay which arrived today - have no idea what to do with it though just bought it cause i heard it is good for labour!!!!! i'm such a moron

foxybrown · 19/05/2007 20:15

I got my homeopathy Callphyllum is meant ot be good, though it does seem like a high dosage! Also will start on my RLT capsules next week.

This little girl won't be late!

How about your other two? Late? Early? Or on time?

derlor · 19/05/2007 20:21

i thought RLT just helped with a speedy delivery rather than actually bringing on labour????
DS - 11 days early 4.5 hour labour
DD - 4 hours late 2.5 hour labour (just made it to hopsital!!)
(took RLT tabs for 4 weeks prior to having her)
