Leanne I’m on my 5th pregnancy. First I had no sickness, was more tired from around 7 weeks and got spd around 20 weeks. Healthy baby. 2nd+3rd pregnancy no real symptoms, miscarried both by 6 weeks. Pregnancy 4 had severe nausea, vomiting often. MMC at 9 weeks. This time my symptoms have been very variable, coming and going non-stop. Had good scan last week.

In my experience symptoms mean very little!

SteveHolt · 04/06/2018 12:41

I have my dating scan tomorrow, nothing on my booking info says I have to have a full bladder - was anyone else told they need to drink a certain amount beforehand, or does it not matter by this stage?...

Gemsie1984 · 04/06/2018 13:06

No you don't need a full bladder

emwithme · 04/06/2018 13:18

You do need a full bladder for the dating scan - a pint of water an hour before is sufficient.

Gemsie1984 · 04/06/2018 13:25

Okay.. well the letter from hospital says I didn't, so I didn't overfill as I'd be busting for a pee if delayed (which it was) so I didn't. No issues, all measurements were clear. Maybe hospitals have different policies?

xLeanne128 · 04/06/2018 13:37

Thankyou @GoldilocksTheGraceless and @Paranormalbouquet we've told both sets of parents and siblings (my dad passed away 3 weeks ago but so glad he knew) and one close friend each but that's it. Wouldn't of told people but after my dad passing we all needed a positive to focus on. I've had 2 scans so far due to spotting and baby was fine at both with a heartbeat seen and heard at 6+3 and 7+4. I'd go for another but I've read mixed things about having too many scans so even that worries me now. I'm a maniac basically Smile!!

December2018 · 04/06/2018 14:28

Hi Leanne if it eases your anxiety at all I'm totally fine, no sickness at all have been for a couple of weeks, only slightly if I'm a little hungry but that's all, my scan was totally fine & normal hun xx

December2018 · 04/06/2018 14:30

My midwife told me to fill my bladder as it's far easier to empty a bit if needed than to fill completely, but not to the point where your really uncomfortable and busting for a wee haha (which is totally what I did)

xLeanne128 · 04/06/2018 14:37

Thankyou! @December2018 makes me feel much better. Yeah that's the same as me I'm just eating more 🙈 nice to know someone else had nothing and it was ok. I'm getting sick of seeing symptoms everywhere haha x

Cakelaur · 04/06/2018 14:56

Good luck for all the scans.

@xLeanne128 I'm so sorry to hear about your dad passing. How lovely that he knew before he passed though. Don't worry about lack of symptoms both my best friends flounced around like magical unicorns with easy pregnancies and no sickness or tiredness. And there's me like a vomiting troll. I had the same symptoms when I lost a bub last time too. So I don't think they prove much. Count yourself lucky.

My Doppler arrived today and I found the heartbeat!!! I'm now sat here sobbing because I love it so much!!! Best thing I've bought so far!!!

MagicalCreatures · 04/06/2018 15:13

Hi @xLeanne128
I think I remember you from the miscarriage board back in January time. I had one too.

I’m due the 27th December and have my 12 weeks Scan in the 14th June too. So I will be thinking of you. Only a week and a half to go.

I’ve also had no real sickness apart from a bit of nausea if I don’t eat regularly and I’ve seen a healthy heartbeat at 6+4 and heard it at 9 weeks at another private scan.
Also heard it at 9+6 using my Doppler (which I haven’t thrown out the window yet if anyone is wondering) but I am so totally anxious and worried that it won’t be there next week. A lot of us know the feeling very well.
But one of my friends is 29 weeks and had not had a single symptom throughout and she is having a healthy little boy x

@SteveHolt (I love your username and said it like Steve Holt in my head)

At my dating scan, I was in such a rush to fit everything in at work, that I didn't get a chance to fill my bladder prior to the scan. I did a wee an hour before, and then didn't drink anything until I arrived 2 minutes late at the hospital. I then drank two little plastic cups of water and had the ultrasound about 5 minutes later. The sonographer said that there was definitely enough in my bladder for the scan - the liquid just goes right through!

SteveHolt · 04/06/2018 18:31

@applesauce1 Ha, it wouldn't let me add an exclamation...

I think I'll have a bit of water, but not loads. I think I had about a pint before my early scan and they said I didn't need to be as full as I was!

xLeanne128 · 04/06/2018 19:12

@Cakelaur makes me feel better. How exciting!! I'm too scared to buy one incase I cant find the heart beat. @MagicalCreatures yeah I remember you too. As if we have our scans on the same day! What time is yours? Defo feel abit better now. I was positive something had happened the day of my other 2 scans too but all was good. Fingers crossed!!

Bora8 · 04/06/2018 19:12

Hi again everyone. Been a bit MIA the last few weeks as I’ve had a big birthday & also got married 😊 trying to catch up now, loving everyone’s scan pics. I’m 15 weeks on Wednesday but since about week 12 I’ve completely lost my big appetite. I’m managing breakfast & a small lunch but come dinner time & the thought of food is enough to make me wretch never mind actually trying to eat anything. Worrying that baby isn’t getting what it should be. I’m on the small side only being 9st now & have only put on 1lb since finding out I was pregnant & don’t want to keep going at this rate as it feels unhealthy. Anyone else had anything similar?

MagicalCreatures · 04/06/2018 19:58

@xLeanne128 mines at 10.10am I think.
And I’ve just found baby’s heartbeat again on my scanner. Thought I’d have one more shot. Ooh the relief. I’m putting it away now!!!! Crazy Doppler lady is going back in the closet for a few months (or maybe a few weeks) 😂

@Bora8 don't worry. Bean will still get everything it needs regardless of your intake. I initially lost 5kg with hyperemesis and have only put on 1/2 a kilo and am 13 weeks. Also have small appetite and it was huge pre pregnancy. I just try some of whatever I feel like. My biggest meal is my bowl of cereal for breakfast.

xLeanne128 · 04/06/2018 20:09

@magicalcreatures ooo I'll be thinking of you mines at 1.30pm. I'm tempted to buy a Doppler 🙈 but don't know if I dare.. x

Gazingers · 04/06/2018 20:14

Sorry to hear about your Dad @xLeanne128. Enjoy feeling normal! I would happily swap! I’ve read that it is also totally normal for people to have no symptoms.

xLeanne128 · 04/06/2018 20:17

Thankyou @gazingers xx

Ameliaclem · 04/06/2018 22:15

Hi all, I’ve 12.5 weeks pregnant and really exhausted - when does this end! Does anybody recommend starting swimming/yoga etc? Does this benefit?

BunBunMum · 05/06/2018 07:36

@xLeanne128 I had a mc in Jan too so can understand your anxiety. With my first I had very few symptoms - just felt tired but was still working 10hr days. This time I’ve felt worse! Fingers crossed for you x

Cakelaur · 05/06/2018 08:01

Anyone with scans tomorrow??? Mines at 4pm!!! Have to wait ALLLLLLL day!!!

Gemsie1984 · 05/06/2018 08:23

I'm tired too.. all the time. Doesn't matter how much sleep I get it's not enough.

December2018 · 05/06/2018 11:33

I've just finished work and went the loo and I'm bleeding, red with bits in sorry TMI
I'm booked in for an emergency scan at 12:40 I'm so scared, the midwife said to me I need to have an anti-d injection, they won't give them until 12 weeks... I'm 11+4 and they won't give me it... how ridiculous is that
Wish me luck ladies xx
