I take it back- seabands don’t work 🤮 horribly sick today even though I have hardly eaten. Has anyone come through the nausea and started to feel better? Going to have to tell my work before the scan I think because I am literally puking all the time 😔

Cakelaur · 02/06/2018 21:31

@Gazingers right there with you babe! I got the sea bands and threw up all day with them on! I've given up now and just deal with vomiting. I choose meal depending on how them come up as nothing stays down. If the odd mean does stay down... bonus!!

12 weeks tomorrow. Mega milestone!!!

Gazingers · 02/06/2018 22:10

Hey @Cakelaur. Congrats on getting to 12 weeks! You will soon be moving into the wonderful and blooming second trimester then. 🙂 I just can’t stomach anything right now. Had two Cadbury’s button choc pot yoghurts today though so getting all the essential vitamins 🤦‍♀️ I can also eat melon. So weird. Sorry to hear about your own vom fest situation... Hopefully it will ease off soon x

emwithme · 02/06/2018 22:57

@Gazingers I'm 14 weeks tomorrow and just coming out of the other side of the nausea. Week 10/11 was the worst - even with medication I was throwing up half a dozen times a day. Now I actually feel like eating relatively healthy food (rather than just greasy stodge) and don't feel the need to eat every hour to stop the nausea.

If you're throwing up lots, go to the GP. There are drugs they can give you (I started on prochlorperazine which did nothing, then cyclizine which was fab until week 10, then tried metoclopramide which was a waste of time but went back to the cyclizine).

In terms of coping with it, I had lots of ice lollies (orange juice ones are wonderful) and drank almost my entire body weight in sports drink and dioralyte. I also worked out that I couldn't tolerate fat free yoghurt or cheese so switched to full fat and all is well.

GoldilocksTheGraceless · 02/06/2018 23:33

@emwithme I can't tell you how much I needed to hear about someone coming out the other side of vomming!! I'm absolutely awful at the moment, can hardly eat or move, only liquids are tiny sips of lucozade or ice lollies. Taking cyclizine which just knocks me out so can only really use out of work hours. Also looking so fashionable at the moment with something called petechia(sp?) which looks like hickeys on my eyes and around my neck as a result of vomming 😓 come on second trimester!!!!!!!!!!! 11 weeks tomorrow so not long now

FutureDays · 03/06/2018 08:25

I gave sea bands a go yesterday, I don't know if it was the placebo effect or just a rare good day for me but I was pretty good all day, we wandered up to our new ikea and I had an apple pie and it didn't even threaten to make a reappearance, but on the way home in the evening I started feeling a bit dodge and was ill when I got home, but I was able to function quite well until that point and did more in a day than I have for a while... so here's hoping they work today

smoothies · 03/06/2018 08:51

@leanne9312 I didn't know either, my daughter is 12 so a lot has changed since I was last pg.

smoothies · 03/06/2018 08:53

I'm out the sickness, I'm 12 weeks, I really didn't suffer much though. My pregnancy with my daughter was much worse and went on until week 14. I am exhausted though and sleeping all the time! Although I feel that might be easing a little. Come on 2nd trimester!

Gemsie1984 · 03/06/2018 10:01

I'm constantly tired. I'm not sleeping particularly well but I'm always yawning by 5pm. Restless legs are kicking off in this heat which isn't helping. MS has stopped completely now, so that's one small mercy. I'm 13 weeks today.

ND348 · 03/06/2018 10:02

Sorry to hear so many you are suffering so badly with sickness. Hopefully the next few weeks will ease it for you!
I was lucky to only have nausea which is now easing, but paying for an easy(ish) 1st trimester by welcoming in crippling back pain now I'm 14 weeks. I wasn't expecting it to hit so early but I'm literally wincing every time I move and walking like an 80 year old. Dr appointment a week tomorrow, anyone got any advise on trying to ease it?

Paranormalbouquet · 03/06/2018 10:05

I’m very nauseous at the moment but as I’ve just had surgery I think pain and antibiotics aren’t helping!

leanne9312 · 03/06/2018 10:44

I constantly feel sick but without being sick. And lately my nose had been so stuffy and I have a cough it's like a bad cold what the hell? It's hard to breath most the time and I could like a bloody horse when I breath out my mouth haha

December2018 · 03/06/2018 11:52

I've been really stuffy nosed too could be hay fever tho.... sorry to hear some of you ladies are suffering!.... just think some of us are nearly at the halfway point 😊 and all these sickly spells and aches & pains will be so so worth it in the end! Chin up ladies 😘
I've been getting migraines and I'm so scared to even take paracetamol 😂

Stephisaur · 03/06/2018 17:38

We told people this weekend!

Feels a lot more real now 😬

Paranormalbouquet · 03/06/2018 17:46

@December2018 having just left hospital I can say that obstetricians are much more blasé with drugs in pregnancy than pregnant women! I’ve been sent home with antibiotics, clexane and co-dydramol. Am just taking paracetamol for pain as it happens as worried about constipation but team assured me they are all fine!

MagicalCreatures · 03/06/2018 20:02

Hayfever can go f* itself!!!
Oh my god I’m dying.

On another note, after hearing the heartbeat at 9+6 weeks on my Doppler, I now cannot find it for love nor money and I’ve tried everyday for the last 4 days.
Now I know why people hate them and say they cause anxiety.
I was so happy when I heard it and now I’m convincing myself the worst has happened.

I feel like throwing the god damn thing out the window x

Thanks for the advice @emwithme. I am glad you are feeling better and it gives the rest of us hope! I have a prescription of antisickness meds waiting for me at the pharmacy. I have been scared of taking them because the doctor said it can’t be guaranteed that they are safe in pregnancy because of insufficient tests and that just freaked me out. I am normally sick at least once a day but often nothing comes up especially if it’s first thing. I just can’t face most stuff. With my last pregnancy I couldn’t eat anything hot until about 20 weeks and then I was super hungry all the time! I should probably just take them... Really pleased the bands are working for you @FutureDays. Hope it continues. Hey @paranormalbouquet hope you are able to get lots of rest- must be tricky recovering from surgery on top of everything. @smoothies- amazing that you got the gender on the first scan- has anyone else been given this option? x

December2018 · 03/06/2018 20:15

When I went for my scan on Friday I was telling the midwife I have a Doppler and she said a good trick to get a good heartbeat is eat something quite sugary 20 mins or so before you use the Doppler... apparently wakes baby up and makes them wiggly 😊

Gemsie1984 · 03/06/2018 21:18

I was surprised by how low down I had to go to get the HB.. literally just at the top of my mound and even then I had to press kinda hard with the volume up and headphones in! I think they're so little at this stage and can wiggle away that it's not always reliable whether or not you'll find it..

FutureDays · 03/06/2018 21:31

I don't know if the band's worked so well today, or maybe today was a really bad day and the band's stopped me feeling worse than I did.
Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day, dh is flying off to a job interview tomorrow so I've got to get dd, doggy and myself sorted out after work before I crash for the evening, usually would be fine but the extreme tiredness at the moment should make it interesting

smoothies · 03/06/2018 21:39

@gazingers It was the NIPT DNA test at 10weeks that gave me the gender not the scan. 😊

Cakelaur · 03/06/2018 21:52

Eek my Doppler arrives on Monday!!!

Gazingers · 03/06/2018 22:56

Good luck with tomorrow @FutureDays and sorry to hear that today was not so great... Is dh away for long? Ah thanks @smoothies. I am a doughnut... Guess I will just have to look out for a willie on the scan! 😊

xLeanne128 · 04/06/2018 09:39

Hi all hope i can join 😙 11+2 due 22nd december. Scan is on the 14th. I'm really struggling with my anxiety at the minute had a MC in January and reading everybody's posts makes me feel worse 'feeling sick means a healthy pregnancy' 'ok it's a good sign so many symptoms'. I have no symptoms at all which according to everyone's posts means something bad I'm going out of my mind. Anyone else feel normal???

GoldilocksTheGraceless · 04/06/2018 11:51

Hi @xLeanne128 😀 from reading everything I can find, the only thing I can be sure of is that every single pregnancy is different and if you've not got sickness and other symptoms going on then try your hardest to enjoy being symptom free! I know that sounds bonkers and on the days where I've had no symptoms I've totally freaked out, but until you know something is wrong, the only choice is to relax! Not sure if that's helpful whatsoever or just makes things worse 😬😬😬 your scan is three days after mine so I totally appreciate the tension mounting around now as well! Who have you told, if anyone? X
