@applesauce1
I agree with other posters that 1st gain, given the different scales and fluid/ boobs is reasonable and not a sign you have overdone it. Am sure - unless you are overweight or ill - that its recommended to gain in 1st trimester. Still join a gym as fit mummies have easier labour!

@goldilocks, have you filled the form at GP for free prescriptions? I've not got it yet but NHS website says it is valid BEFORE you apply for it??! Maybe ask your dentist.

Not sure if similar cause but i had a small nosebleed (at 11+5)

Roomarmoset · 21/05/2018 15:45

Hi ladies

I need some more advice please. Has anyone had any issues with a manager letting you have time off for midwife/scan appointments?

I had a letter come through on Saturday from my midwife to say she is coming to see me this Thursday at 11:00 (I work a 45 minute drive from home).

I told my manager first thing this morning and she wasn't happy and said as we're busy we need to discuss how I attend my appointments and said she didn't believe people have appointments with a midwife before 12 weeks. I'm going to bring in the letter for her tomorrow but it seems like she's going to make it difficult for me.

Has anyone else had this? My husband is furious because she wasn't very nice to me when I had my miscarriage in January.

Feeling very low about it all Sad

Gemsie1984 · 21/05/2018 16:05

@Roomarmoset that's just not on. Why is she even questioning you? Take the letter to her tomorrow and when she requests the chat explain to her that you're concerned with her response to your pregnancy and that you don't feel supported by her. Given your previous loss then any normal boss would be doing anything they could to be accommodating.. I'm not surprised your OH is fuming, I would be too.

Roomarmoset · 21/05/2018 16:17

Thanks @Gemsie1984
I've been advised to have someone join us in future meetings but I think I will have a chat with her tomorrow and see what she says. We have the option to work from home so I'm not sure what the issue is, I've worked from home previously without any problems.

I think it's because we're busy but I need to stand up for myself. She asked me if I was even pregnant when I started bleeding through my last miscarriage Sad really upset me, but when I came back to work (after she'd had the ectopic pregnancy sick note) she was more sympathetic but it changes on a daily basis.

Gemsie1984 · 21/05/2018 16:35

That would ring massive alarm bells for me, tbh. She shouldn't be questioning your first pregnancy or appointments regarding the second. She could be on very shaky ground in terms of intimidation and bullying. I'd definitely get advice if things escalate. I don't know her personal circumstances but she has a duty to remain professional, irrespective of how busy she is. To be blunt, she sounds like an absolute bell-end.

Stephisaur · 21/05/2018 16:39

@roomarmoset show her the letter? She can't really dispute that.

Roomarmoset · 21/05/2018 17:13

Thanks @stephisaur that’s useful. I’ll show her the letter tomorrow. She won’t dispute it, just make it difficult for me because we’re understaffed and busy.

applesauce1 · 21/05/2018 18:39

Well I had a small cry at your lovely messages. I know I'm being hard on myself. I will be joining a gym for swimming and yoga. Both of these cannot be measured and therefore shouldn't trigger old obsessions. (I know I can count lengths but I won't know how many calories I've burnt)
Crisps seem to be my downfall as I'm put off by larger, seasoned meals but I still want savoury food.

Im just reading Emma's Diary Magazine and getting lots of inspiration for healthy snacks and meals.

@GoldilocksTheGraceless I just read the attached and seems like it's totally normal!

So pleased to hear you're feeling a bit more settled @applesauce1 this is such a journey!!
Thank you to you and others who have given advice re gums. I got my exemption certificate through yesterday so I'll be booking to see the dentist ASAP 😁

AaronPurrSir · 21/05/2018 19:51

I’ve been having the pains when sneezing since week 4, it’s been my most constant symptom. The last week or two the twinges have been more constant and my tummy has definitely popped out, so baby must be doing some serious growing!

Got my 12 week scan tomorrow, very nervous.

MrsTeaPlease · 21/05/2018 19:55

All went well at my scan on Saturday. Was measuring 10+4 So 10+6 today. Baby even had hiccups during the scan! Thought I would post it incase anyone is interested and a similar gestation as I know I was interested to see others.

@aaronpurrsir good luck tomorrow. Hope all goes well.x

Gemsie1984 · 21/05/2018 20:20

@MrsTeaPlease I'm 10+6 today too! Hello bump buddy 🤰👍🏻

Skittlelover · 21/05/2018 20:29

That's great news mrstea. Hope all goes well Aaron with your scan. I've got my next reassurance for recurrent miscarriage tomorrow. Should be about 9+3. Feeling very terrified that it's all going to be over tomorrow. Trying to stay positive tho. X

balalalala · 21/05/2018 20:42

Gorgeous scan @mrsteaplease

@applesauce1 I put lots of weight on in the first tri last time and it's no different this time round. I look like I've eaten all the pies for everyone in the whole town!

Good luck with the two scans tomorrow. Mine is on Thursday! It was supposed to be today but I couldn't make it which was gutting!

BloominMoomin89 · 21/05/2018 21:34

Hi all can i join? Im due 4th but have been very anxious to comment due to mmc last November. My 12 week scan has gone well so im feeling positive :)

Gemsie1984 · 21/05/2018 23:04

Bleeding..

TMI but I've been constipated for a while. I had a BM about 8:30pm. No blood on the tp when wiping although I do have piles. Went to try and go again and nothing came but when I got up to flush there's a streak of blood in the toilet.. wiped back passage and blood. Wiped front bits.. ALSO blood. I'm also cramping now but don't know whether that's all in my head. Absolutely bricking it. I'm 10+6.

Cakelaur · 22/05/2018 08:07

@Gemsie1984 don't totally panick just yet. I had this around 7weeks. And it was an anal fissure. It looked 100times worse in terms of the whole bowl was filled with blood! I thought it was the baby in the bowl. Turns it was a teeny tiny tear in my back passage. Is there DEFO blood coming from the front too? Did you stick a bit of tissue up?? Defo contact Epu. Cos they should get you in for a scan just to be sure. Sending massive hugs I know it's mega scary!!

Roomarmoset · 22/05/2018 08:15

Welcome @BloominMoomin89 you're in good company here, I think most of us have been through something Smile

Roomarmoset · 22/05/2018 08:15

*something similar

Gemsie1984 · 22/05/2018 08:34

Thanks.. I wore a sanitary towel last night and there's nothing this morning on wiping my lady bits. Definitely was last night as it was red and then went to a watery pink. I also wiped my back end and there was a tiny bit of brown blood so I'm assuming they have been kicking off but I was definitely bleeding front end too as the blood in my pants was from front and back.. no cramps tho so fingers crossed..

Happy32 · 22/05/2018 10:07

This happened me with the front bleeding on friday and scan yesterday was great. I think being constipated has an effect because when you have to strain and that, it's going to put pressure on your uterus etc plus everything has got more blood supply down there now!

December2018 · 22/05/2018 10:20

Gemsie1984 sorry but I'm absolutely no help what so ever! But I'm just offering you a big hand hold and a hug, that would petrify me if I'm honest... I would deffo get yourself checked over just for peace of mind (not that us pregnant ladies ever have any)

Also totally off subject but I've been having terrible stitch like pains for the past 2-3 days right in my sides they come and go and only last about 5 mins at a time but they're freaking me out I'm 10+5 today

Skittlelover · 22/05/2018 12:25

Hope everything is ok gemsie1984 and you can see epu soon.
Had my scan this morning and happy news I am exactly 9+3 so growth is on target. Baby was waving their arm and heartbeat was great. So relieved, may be able to sleep tonight! Booking appt on thurs and then hopefully onto the 12 week scan in 3 weeks. Best wishes for everyone else feeling nervous. Xx

GoldilocksTheGraceless · 22/05/2018 15:21

Hey team 😍 just wondering if anyone has ever heard of ante natal self defence classes? I've had a look in my area and can't see anything but seems like a sensible time to know how to get out of a sticky situation!
