@mayah that's a crappy excuse my 12 week scan was only last weds. I didn't expect another one but when I said my brown blood had progressed to red they booked me an appointment for the next morning.

They did reassure my by saying that a miscarriage at this stage is very obviously painful and a lot of blood, so basically just the bit of bleeding I have had is not a bad sign but still get it checked out.

Amarettoplease · 09/05/2018 20:28

@magpie24 I love eBay for used good quality stuff. Even before pregnancy, I’ve had work dresses from Boden and Hobbs off of there. I’ve bought a few maternity bits on there this time, I begrudge spending lots on stuff that I’m not going to wear for long and wasn’t impressed with some of the cheaper stuff last time.

@saraswati I hope all this worry means you get an easy ride once baby is here!

I’m on the fb group but will stay here too Smile

MeredithShepherd · 09/05/2018 21:34

I’m on the fb group too but trying to keep checking here too!
Hope everyone is well, baby is fluttering around lots here tonight. I feel like I have a tummy full of butterflies!

Emma0902 · 09/05/2018 22:07

Awww @MeredithShepherd can't wait to feel that again! I could of sworn I've felt the baby move but I'm only 12 weeks tomorrow is that possible 🤣

TinyPawz · 10/05/2018 07:22

Bricking it for this afternoon. Didn't sleep last night with worry. Seen flump perfectly fine on scan twice now but this scan will be 12 weeks and out of 'danger zone'. I need this day to be over.

sarahhh1984 · 10/05/2018 07:37

Aw, @TinyPawz I have my fingers crossed for you that all will be well. Let us know how you get on.

I'm on the train on my way to a job. I'm freelance and largely work from home but today I'm based at the client's office. I have so much respect for those of you who do a commute every day. I'm half asleep already and all I've done today is got dressed, had breakfast and got on the train.

Laurisi · 10/05/2018 07:48

Hope all goes well today @TinyPawz

Saraswati · 10/05/2018 07:53

Good luck @tinypawz

So glad I'm only part time I really struggle by weds, i don't work on Thurs and Fri but I do have dd obviously. She has ballet today and we have exciting things like cleaning and laundry planned! Dd has decided she only wants a sister called blossom, cute name but I don't think it's going on our list!

TinyPawz · 10/05/2018 10:49

@Saraswati the girl name we have chosen is Bláthnaid which is Irish for Blossom.

Magpie24 · 10/05/2018 11:51

@TinyPawz good luck today. Beautiful name.

14+2 and not feeling very pregnant right now, feeling just like myself really. Which is nice, although a little worrying? Anyone else around the same stage as me had symptoms lifting?

MeredithShepherd · 10/05/2018 13:04

@Magpie24 yes I’m 14+4 and wouldn’t know I was pregnant other than the bump that is rapidly appearing.

GiveMummyTheWhizzer · 10/05/2018 13:08

@Magpie24 I could've written your post! It's is worrying. I just feel a bit tired today. It's horrible not knowing if everything is ok. I am 14+2 today too.

TinyPawz · 10/05/2018 15:43

Well all is good with flump.

Told the consultant that I want a section and was given the hard sell on vbac. Can still have a section if I wish but made feel like a daft child for even suggesting it. Not sure what to do.

Pawz so glad all went well at the scan. It’s totally your choice, and you can always decide later on anyway about a csection, you might find someone more sympathetic to your reasons.

ameretto what brands are you searching on eBay? I love eBay for a bargain!

Only 4 days to my scan....countdown is on!

sarahhh1984 · 10/05/2018 17:56

Congratulations @TinyPawz!

@Magpie24 I'm 14 weeks today and apart from my growing bump I wouldn't really know I'm pregnant. It's normal to feel better in second trimester but it can be worrying when the symptoms all vanish!

moomoo85 · 10/05/2018 18:19

I'm 13+6 and while I wouldn't say that I am feeling normal I am having more good days than bad days. I remember I still felt rubbish until 16 weeks last time so am hoping this pregnancy follows the same.

Also had my repeat parvovirus bloods done today to see if I caught it from my son. Will find out next week so I have everything crossed.

Laurisi · 10/05/2018 21:31

Congrats @TinyPawz

MiniMinions · 10/05/2018 21:48

I'm 14+2 today and also apart from a bloated tummy area don't feel particularly pregnant. Because I had lost a few pounds before I got pregnant clothes are still fitting at the moment. As expected now the job is up at work in staffroom and website people have started asking if it's me or my colleague so I'm out there now! Just waiting for a student who goes on school website to see it and out me as well!!

MiniMinions · 10/05/2018 21:48

Oh and @TinyPawz am glad all went well today after your worries.

confuddledconfuddle · 11/05/2018 01:02

@TinyPawz are you NI? I've just moved bac and was under the impression you can request combined screening at scans? Is this not the case? I have my booking in next Wed and I was planning on requesting/demanding it. I think it's ridiculous it is not offered.

Oh big congratulations in scan. Glad everything went well. Ps don't let dr bully you into any choice, you choose what is best for you.

TinyPawz · 11/05/2018 01:22

@confuddledconfuddle yes in North of Ireland. Screening isn't offered here I believe because of the anti abortion laws. Nothing can be done with the information. Not sure if that is the actual reason or if I have imagined that. Either way they don't screen. You might be able to get screened privately though.

confuddledconfuddle · 11/05/2018 03:20

@TinyPawz yes I believe that's the reason they quote but I argue that studies have shown that women who know about their babies diagnosis before birth have time to adjust and cope with it. I also think it is important to know in case delivery is needed in a specialist hospital (I.e. the royal). Yes trisomy 18, and 13 will be picked up in 20 week scan at the latest. However not all trisomy 21 will and heart abnormalities are not necessarily checked for. Makes me so angry that we are treated like citizens from the last age with no choice over our bodies or our children. Angry anyway that's a disagreement for another thread.
So I will be going armed with my scientific papers supporting why we should be having it! I have already told my GP I will want that testing, although in fairness I don't expect them to know anything about it as not their field. Luckily I did my masters research project in this field so I just need to dig it out.

confuddledconfuddle · 11/05/2018 03:25

@TinyPawz seems the southern trust do offer the quardruple test but it has to be requested if under 35 www.southernguidelines.hscni.net/?wpfb_dl=51

So I'm hoping that I shouldn't have a problem

TinyPawz · 11/05/2018 08:05

@confuddledconfuddle that's good. I am attending the Royal as that is my local hospital anyway so maybe that is why they could be resistant. Already at the specialist hospital so what's the difference? Goodness only knows.

intelligentPutty · 11/05/2018 08:33

Scan this morning. I think I'm 12+ 5. Fingers crossed it's all ok. Confused
