Good luck @intelligentPutty

confuddledconfuddle · 11/05/2018 11:17

Hoping all goes well @intelligentPutty

intelligentPutty · 11/05/2018 11:37

Thanks ladies. It went well. Measured 13 + 2!
My NT was 2.2. Which I 'think' is ok.

Anyone else had scans today.

sarahhh1984 · 11/05/2018 11:59

Congratulations @intelligentPutty! x

Saraswati · 11/05/2018 12:23

Congrats @intelligentputty great to be moved forward too! From my limited knowledge under 3mm is ok but there are other factors. I had my scan on 2nd may and haven't had my results through yet so I'm hoping it's ok as they said if it's high risk they contact you within a week. My nt was 1.5mm but I read somewhere that bleeding in pregnancy increases your papp a or whatever it is and that can increase your risk. All a bit scary so I'm just hoping no news is good news!

Dd woke me up this morning by kissing my belly and saying 'Good morning baby I love you' Smile she drives me nuts sometimes but is the sweetest girl at heart, I can't wait to see her with her baby sibling (once she gets over the jealousy Confused)

Any more scans today?

MeredithShepherd · 11/05/2018 13:10

Congrats @intelligentputty

NoCatsHere · 11/05/2018 13:32

congrats putty sounds like a positive NT measurement to me. But like others said i think they add in other factors from your blood results and age etc...

Hope everyone has nice things planned for the weekend.

intelligentPutty · 11/05/2018 14:37

Thanks guys. Yes I suppose I'm jist really hoping it is positive result.
Mind u with my age and that 2.2 is on the 'higher' side I won't be at all surprised if I have to have another test. ;(
Will be starting to tell family tomorrow!!

Amarettoplease · 11/05/2018 19:36

Congratulations on a positive scan @intelligentputth

@nocatshere on eBay I search for maternity and only filter by brands as they all have different sizing. Jojo Maman Bébé, Seraphine and Isabella Oliver are the ones I look out for (fave work dress from there is Seraphine, it was £11). I had a JMB one for less than £2 +postage but it’s too small so I need to put it back on eBay! I’ve had a couple from next/blooming marvellous too and so far everything I’ve been sent is clean and in good condition. I do want a new pair of H&M black leggings though (maybe some maternity tights as I’ve just been cutting slits in the waistband of normal ones so far!)

wejammin · 11/05/2018 20:03

Had a real struggle with hormones yesterday, at work I felt like I would cry but held it together, DH was working late so I did tea and bed and was horrid to the kids, when DH came home it all came flooding out, poor man has to listen to a good half hour of sobbing and wailing.

I think I'm really struggling at work, because I started a new job 3 weeks ago. In my previous jobs I'd known everyone for years, there were loads of mums, and I could have a good old moan or chat about baby stuff every now and then. My new job hardly anyone has kids and I don't know anyone, I'm feeling a bit lonely and the odd one out. I've got an away weekend tomorrow in a hotel and most people are bringing partners but we couldn't get a babysitter so I'm going on my own, and I have a feeling there's going to be a lot of heavy drinking after hours.

Amarettoplease · 12/05/2018 00:25

@wejammin that sounds tough, no wonder you’re feeling tearful! Not many people that I work with have kids but my immediate surroundings are mostly women who have close family/friends with kids and have been there for them so are understanding (in some ways I find this easier than in my last job when I was pregnant with DS and women with kids I worked with were telling me what to buy and what I didn’t need without invitation to which I found annoying).
Do they know you’re pregnant yet? If not, I’d develop a ‘coming down with something’ where you push through and participate during the day but are absolutely knackered and must go to bed early to get you out of anything too late? Latch onto fellow partnerless folk who will probably be feeling similarly? Take a stash of chocolate to eat in your room when it’s all getting a bit much? Anything to get through it, if there’s no getting out of it.

wejammin · 12/05/2018 07:32

@Amarettoplease they know I'm pregnant, I'm 16 weeks and massive! I've got free time from 3 til 7 so I've got myself some books from the library and a bath bomb and I'm going to go to my room and take advantage of child free me-time. It's in a lovely location so if I get up early enough on Sunday I'll try and fit in a walk after breakfast, in time to get back home for swimming lessons.

I think I need to make more effort to catch up with my out of work friends with kids. They're all so busy though, it's impossible to coordinate ourselves.

Shrimpi · 12/05/2018 12:59

Hi everyone! Sorry I have not posted in a while. I'm so tired of feeling this awful! I am nearly 14 weeks and still feeling sick so much of the time. I think it is a little better in that I am not being sick so often (last time was 4 days ago). My hip has started to become agonising, especially when I wake up in the morning- I limp like an old woman. I thought PGP was meant to arrive in the 2nd/3rd trimester not the end of the first!!

I am just recovering from a week of nights which is probably why I'm feeling particularly bad. There has been a measles outbreak of unvaccinated kids and it's making me feel upset, irritable and angry to think about it even though I would normally be able to just put it aside.

On the bright side, I am really grateful that from baby's point of view everything has been fine and low risk and I haven't had to worry about the little bugger at all. I can't imagine how difficult it is for those of you with these symptoms and also having the emotions of worrying about the baby.

GreenMeerkat · 12/05/2018 18:33

@intelligentPutty my NT was 2.2 and results came back low risk. I was 13+1 so quite far for NT scan too. Apparently the measurements can increase as baby grows so could have been lower had your scan been at 12 weeks if that makes sense? I panicked a bit at mine but looked that up and made me feel better

GreenMeerkat · 12/05/2018 18:40

Also, could I have the FB group details please? Will still post on here mind

TinyPawz · 12/05/2018 20:55

Anyone still waiting on scans? Or are we all in 2nd trimester and trying not to buy everything baby related

Hufflepuffinalltheway · 12/05/2018 22:48

I haven’t posted much on here but have kept up to date with you yoh all, so glad you’re all okay and the scan pictures are lovely!
I think I’ve been absent because I’ve been SO anxious about the 12 week scan because of the miscarriage I had in January. But I had my scan yesterday and all was wonderful! Baby wouldn’t stop moving, probably because my adrenaline was pumping!

I’m on the fb group and probably more active on that but will still be on here.

CVB1990 · 13/05/2018 01:02

Had scan today/ well yesterday now... all good with the baby. Didn’t realise how nice it would be to see bubba on the screen. 13 weeks wooo!
My last pregnancy from the screening came back high risk DS so I had to have amino so I was offered amino today instead of screening but choose screening first to see what that came back as, any one else had this?
Also I have to go see a consultant next week st the hospital because I had an abnormal smear last year and they took a biopsy, said I’m higher risk of miscarrying because of this? Anyone else had it been through this? When you think one worries over.... our comes another ehh!?

Laurisi · 13/05/2018 07:07

@CVB1990 congrats on the scan I’ve not had to have amnio so no advice there sorry.
But I do have to see a consultant for having had biopsy and treatment of cervix but I also have thyroid problems. I’m pretty sure the risk of miscarriage is higher depending on the treatment that was carried out and I was also asked about the type of biopsy that I had. I know that sometimes the treatment of the abnormal cells can shorten the cervix and that you can require a stitch and I think that’s a lot of the worry aswell with it Confused

NoCatsHere · 13/05/2018 08:42

@tinypawz I’m waiting on my scan, it’s Tuesday at 1pm. I’m beyond nervous, 2 mc last year and that women telling me my NT was already high at the 10 week scan I’m freaking out and just want answers.

huffle so glad your scan was good, a mc really makes you worry so much about things.

cvb I have no advice I’m sorry, but I do understand the worry. Was your last amino ok though? Did it give back ok results? I think it is better to have screenings and go from there as from the little I know amino is not a fun procedure and carries some risk of mc. Hope your results come back ok.

CVB1990 · 13/05/2018 10:27

@laurisi thanks for the reply 🙂 when are you seeing the consultant? Someone has mentioned about the stitch to me, I’m hoping that can be avoided. I’d been signed off work recently with anxiety and was due back Wednesday, I had prepared my self for that but I’m not going back now until after the appointment and hopefully the results from the screening.

The last amino was like 7 years ago now but yeh it all came back fine, nothing was mentioned in the scan either about it being higher risk or anything.

@NoCatsHere thanks for your reply too. Yeh amino care back fine last time, just worried me into thinking they think it might not come back normal from the bloods.

Thank you x

Laurisi · 13/05/2018 10:38

@CVB1990 I’ll see him on the 21st this month so I’ll be 15 weeks. when do you see yours? I think first appointment is normally about the 16 weeks mark or there abouts. I’m really not sure what to expect from him to be honest as the midwife was a bit clueless and just said wait until I see the consultant because she doesn’t have a lot of knowledge about each treatment and what action if any would need to be taken. I’m pretty sure LETZ is one of the treatments that can shorten your cervix depending on th amount of treatment you need so I think there’s a lot to consider before they decide. I’m a bit apprehensive to be honest it’s my fourth pregnancy but by far the one I’ve worried about the most as I didn’t have any of my current health issues with the others 😶

Laurisi · 13/05/2018 10:42

@CVB1990 ment to say I honestly think that you do what’s best for you and if you need more time off make sure you take it the waiting is awful because your in limbo and I’m sure that heightens the anxiety. They do say that if there is Higher risk you tend to hear back fairly quickly aswell 😊

CVB1990 · 13/05/2018 11:19

@Laurisi oooh have you. Well she has mine booked for Thursday, one of the midwifes asked when she wanted me to come and she was like, this week! I think that put the fear of god in me aswell. They do like to keep us in our toes this little baby’s don’t though ehhh! Roll on November when a whole new load of worry starts! 😂

Thank you, that’s really sweet 🙂 keeping berything crosses for us both that there just following procedures

Laurisi · 13/05/2018 11:40

@CVB1990 Thursday isn’t long now hopefully after seeing the consultant your mind can be put at ease a bit I’m sure they run through anything and everything that they want to put in place at the initial appointment. It really is an never ending cycle of worry 🤞🏻That some of that worry goes after actually speaking to the consultant 😊
