Team yellow here too! 16 week appointment yesterday but I'm 17 weeks + all Good, lovely heartbeat about 145bpm. Can't remember what gender that indicates?! Also got a homebirth book and dp picked up our snuzpod, our first baby purchase! Feel quite excited now 😊 next midwife isn't until 28 weeks although obviously I have my scan in between. This pregnancy is flying by!

TinyPawz · 05/06/2018 14:20

@Saraswati apparently over 140 is a girl.

intelligentPutty · 06/06/2018 00:53

Interesting. My 16 week (well 17!) me appt was today and found 148bpm. And we are having a girl!!

Magpie24 · 06/06/2018 15:42

Is everyone starting to monitor movement yet? Am 18+1. Not really noticing a pattern yet but am getting some proper kicks which is exciting!

TinyPawz · 06/06/2018 17:24

I'm 16 + 2 but quite large so not feeling any movement yet. I am absolutely miserable in this heat. Don't like it at the best of times and this is worse than normal.

sarahhh1984 · 06/06/2018 20:13

@TinyPawz I have my whooping cough jab booked for next Tuesday. Was supposed to go this week but haven't been too well. From what I remember from last time it's not a big needle although I did feel a bit off colour for a day or two afterwards. Flu jab wasn't a big needle either and felt fine after that one. Can't get my flu jab done until September/October here.

Laurisi · 06/06/2018 21:47

Had the whooping cough today wasn’t too bad but ever since my whole arm has just got more painful as the day has gone on I’m hoping it eases off a bit by tomorrow ☹️

TinyPawz · 07/06/2018 09:07

So apparently flu vaccine isn't given out after May. Have to go back in October for it. Whooping cough was grand. I'd had that same vaccine in 2012 for difference reasons so shouldn't have any side effects. 1 more thing off the list.

sarahhh1984 · 07/06/2018 09:11

@Laurisi I seem to remember my arm really hurting for a day or two afterwards last time. Eased off after a short while so hopefully yours will too.

marmitericecakes · 07/06/2018 11:37

Hi everyone - hope you're all well. I'm 18 weeks today - pretty much halfway there already!

I had a meeting with the consultant yesterday to discuss what to expect from a twin pregnancy. He was quite positive about everything given that my first pregnancy was problem free.

I asked if he would check the heartbeats so we had a quick scan and everything looked good. I have my anomaly scan in 3 weeks and then scans every 4 weeks from 24 weeks onwards.

Is anyone else struggling with aches and pains in their pelvis? Mine is so sore by the end of every day. I need to get a pregnancy support belt - any recommendations!

Laurisi · 07/06/2018 14:50

@Sarahhh1984 thanks feeling a bit better today after an awful sleep with it wasn’t expecting it to be as painful 🙈

NoCatsHere · 07/06/2018 16:40

marmite no aches yet but maybe you’re feeling it more because you have two? Pregnancy support belt will be great or you can always ask your gp for physio referee and they’ll loan you one/help you get the best use out of it.

16+1 and impatient to feel proper movement. I think I can feel something but not sure yet...

I’ll have the whooping cough jab again but I’m personally not a fan of the flu vaccine and have never bothered in previous 2 pregnancies.

LastNightsMakeUp · 07/06/2018 17:01

@marmitericecakes is your pain sacral/lower back/hip pain? I had it with my dd towards the end of my pregnancy but at 17 weeks it's already in full force and I'm hobbling around. I saw an osteopath today who basically told me to rest, ice it 5-6 times a day, not do any walking, not to wear flip flops, not to do pregnancy yoga... came away feeling quite deflated as after gaining quite a bit of weight last time (and losing it) I'm keen to keep moving this time. Especially having a lively toddler to keep entertained. Anyone else have any experience of SI problems?

Melaniesunflower · 07/06/2018 17:56

I'm getting whooping cough jag next week when I'm at the surgery for my 16 week midwife visit. I usually get the flu jag every year through work (Nhs). They don't give it out over summer as cases of flu are less common over the warmer months. The campaign will start again September/ October time

marmitericecakes · 07/06/2018 18:10

@LastNightsMakeUp the pain is in my pelvis and groin. Much worse when I walk and I'm doing over 10k steps a day as it's the only exercise I can really do. But I wear trainers and don't push myself too hard.
The consultant didn't offer any additional support or advice which was disappointing. Honestly if men had babies it would be another story!

LastNightsMakeUp · 07/06/2018 18:54

@marmitericecakes I know I thought the same! Are you able to get a physio referral from your midwife or GP perhaps?

marmitericecakes · 07/06/2018 19:12

@LastNightsMakeUp good advice - I'll go to the GP and try the pregnancy support belt I've seen on Amazon - the consultant did say they're most useful at this stage rather than further down the line.

wejammin · 07/06/2018 20:00

Hey everyone, I've been AWOL for ages, the last few weeks have flown by! It's my 20 week scan tomorrow and for some reason I'm really nervous. We've been waiting for this scan to buy anything or sort out all the baby stuff in the loft and it felt like ages away but now it's tomorrow and I'm panicking!

Saraswati · 08/06/2018 06:56

Good luck @wejammin sorry to those with aches and pains already. Lots of jabs and kicks here now rather than flutters which is reassuring, much more definable as I can't mistake them for gas! Dp saw it from the outside the other day and he was so excited. You can almost feel it from outside too although dp hasn't managed to yet, he's desperate to feel a kick, we just need to time it right. My sickness has gone but I'm still feeling so exhausted, I'm waiting to glow, 18 weeks tomorrow and not it looking like it yet!!

xXJenXx · 08/06/2018 10:27

@marmitericecakes sorry to hear you're struggling with pains...my Mum's a physio so she's been giving me tips on posture to help minimise this and it has helped a lot. I'd definitely recommend getting a physio referral. Hope you get it sorted and feel better soon.

wejammin · 08/06/2018 15:49

Thanks @Saraswati, the scan went well thank goodness, baby was very uncooperative so the photo is rubbish, he/she mostly covered their face with their hands and curled up in a ball. I had to go for a walk to get baby moving but they’re stubborn! I definitely have an anterior placenta which I suspected as the movements were feeling muffled and very gentle, like with DC1 who was the same.

Is anyone using a birthing ball yet to sit on? I need to get one, went into TX maxx today but they had none in.

marmitericecakes · 08/06/2018 19:11

Thanks @xXJenXx. Just been to the GP to ask for a physio referral so fingers crossed it comes through quickly.

@wejammin Sounds like your scan was reassuring if slightly frustrating.

I'm having pizza and movie night with DS. Hope you all have a great weekend.

TinyPawz · 08/06/2018 19:27

Massive amazon order arrived so everything bar clothes has been packed away waiting flumps arrival. Can focus on getting xmas sorted now. Want everything in and wrapped before Halloween so last few weeks of pregnancy and first few weeks with new baby are as relaxed as possible.

wejammin · 08/06/2018 19:29

Wow @tinypawz that's super organised! I've not thought past the end of summer holidays!

TinyPawz · 08/06/2018 19:31

It is. Not usually this organised at all but there is also a potential house move in first week of December that I am quietly ignoring. The idea of trying to pack a house either heavily pregnant or with a newborn is grand gong me nightmares. So like a typical ostrich I'm burying my head in the sand and focusing on other things instead
