@Hufflepuffinalltheway Hey! That's great, I'm Middlesbrough area...how about you? p.s am also a Hufflepuff Grin

HanahMarie · 16/05/2018 11:09

@pipsqueak126 - one of my friends swore by NCT and said it was one of her 'must haves' during her pregnancy - she's still in touch with all of her group and they meet up with their babies etc...I think ultimately it will come down to a bit of luck of who's in your group at the end of the day - I wasn't aware of the Baby Journey one but both sound great...

@xXJenXx - I feel like baby brain is starting to set in a bit...I miss place things more than usual and some things are taking longer to register with me when normally I'm hot on everything - so I feel your pain - I too feel like I have to have sit down breaks between the housework and I'm usually quite fit so that feels strange - cleaning the windows last weekend nearly finished me off! Confused

NoCatsHere · 16/05/2018 11:45

tinypawz how about gap? www.gap.co.uk/browse/category.do?cid=69513&mlink=1048408,,flyout_mat_Jeans and i have a code for 35% off full price sales if you enter NOWGAP I'm not sure what size they go up to though.

lastnight and greenmeerkat i have two boys already and honestly i'm hoping for another. they are a dream, so sweet and loving and hugs a plenty. it's like a love i've never known. they are not typical boys either....my oldest is sensitive has only female friends and is quiet and reads a lot. they younger is slightly wilder, silly as hell and makes us laugh a lot. I promise you will love this boy as much as your dd.

I'm tempted to see if the nub theory works, might enter my picture although i won't find out until birth i don't think!

mayah i have a nagging feeling two after 2 mc last year...i think it's perfectly normal. i'm hoping once i can feel baby move i'll feel more reassured.

ravenclaw oooh what nappies did you buy? i have some from last baby, mainly tots bots, bumgenius but looking forward to adding to my stash!

HanahMarie · 16/05/2018 13:19

@NoCatsHere I'm hoping I'll believe it more when I can feel movement as although I've seen the baby on the scan image I'm still struggling to associate what I've seen with that actually being inside me Confused I think because I don't really have much of a bump yet either and haven't had any sickness I sort of still don't really feel pregnant - it's weird

xXJenXx · 16/05/2018 13:53

@NoCatsHere ….I hadn't thought of Gap...thanks for sharing! I've got a less than ideal 'top button undone' look going on at the moment.

@HanahMarie Not just me then! Phew! I'm also not quite believing there's anything 'in there'. It is weird.

Sabulous · 16/05/2018 14:35

I did NCT with my first, and the ladies in the group were an absolute saving grace in the first months when you're getting your head around everything. It made me feel human, and nice to know others were going through a similar thing.
I'm tempted to do a refresher course this time around, just to get to know a few people. Not for the ante natal bit, as I found them a bit too gung ho about doing it all naturally. Give me the drugs!!

pipsqueak126 · 16/05/2018 14:44

@Sabulous Yes I definitely want to make friends! And the non NCT option seems a lot more realistic in terms of preparing you for a real birth. I would have just booked NCT but my midwife recommended this one, and I'm swaying towards it. I think most places have alternatives to NCT, I just don't know what I'd be 'missing' going down a different route.

I've forgotten who mentioned the headaches, but my goodness, they are coming thick and fast with me! Thank god we're allowed paracetmol, though it's not much help most of the time...

HanahMarie · 16/05/2018 14:51

@pipsqueak126 ah see now I'm normally prone to headaches anyway but I reckon I'm suffering less since pregnant - could possibly be that I'm making a real effort to drink more water though as think that's possibly been my downfall previously 🤦🏽‍♀️

pipsqueak126 · 16/05/2018 14:55

@HannahMarie I think dehydration has something to do with it. As I'm not having my usual cups of tea I must be drinking less than I would normally, but given I'm feeling nauseous, it's an effort to constantly sip water! It's definitely been more along the migraine lines though, and I know they can be more common in pregnancy for some.

NoCatsHere · 16/05/2018 15:16

@LastNightsMakeUp with the nub Facebook group is it private? i don't really want to submit my photo and then accidentally announce it to all of Facebook!!! i haven't told really anyone yet i'm pregnant!

GreenMeerkat · 16/05/2018 15:23

@NoCatsHere only people who are members of the group can see it, but then anyone can join the group! I didn't put it on til i had gone public.

NoCatsHere · 16/05/2018 15:26

green thanks, i doubt i'll know anyone on the group, but thought i'd better check - didn't really want it rolling up in my feed! Shock

Nevada54 · 16/05/2018 16:27

@xXJenXx I’m NE too :)

I’m really interested in the nub theory, unfortunately you can’t see anything on my scan pic!

I’m just had a quick search of local NCT courses, the nearest one for Nov dates is about 25 miles away and only Jan/Feb in my area. They won’t be booked up already surely?!

Nevada54 · 16/05/2018 16:29

@NoCatsHere might it show up on your feed that you have joined the group? I know it doesn’t for secret groups but not sure about for closed ones. Might be worth looking in to!

Melaniesunflower · 16/05/2018 17:31

Got my appointment changed, now need to wait till 4th June for my scan 😞 I'll be 14+4 at that point! I suppose looking at it I won't have as long to wait for my 20 week scan.....

northernbelle84 · 16/05/2018 19:09

Hi, have been reading along for ages, this is my first post Smile I'm also NE (Co Durham) and due 4 November, first baby! I'm learning lots from you all.

Had no motivation or energy to do anything for the first trimester. Starting to come out the other side now and feel better at 15+3. Got quite a bump now and wore an actual maternity dress today to work - felt like a big step.

I have the same NCT issue - I'm scared they'll be too heavy on the natural birth thing. That's something I'd like but am prepared to compromise on if necessary. There don't seem to be many other options around here though.

Anyone considering Armistice-themed names? I thought I'd better have some possible middle names prepared in case baby arrives on 11 November (I'm quite patriotic!) but not terribly keen on Poppy or Victor.

northernbelle84 · 16/05/2018 19:10

Plus, I just checked the NCT course price! £187!!! Maybe not then!

Saraswati · 16/05/2018 19:34

@northernbelle84 funny you should say that! My grandads middle name was Victor because he was born in 1918 so we were considering using it as a middle name especially as my due date is the 10th so could be an 11th baby. I also want to consider a suffragettes themed named because for the centenary of the vote, so maybe emmeline or Eleanor (for Eleanor Roosevelt who is a hero of mine).

Maternity trousers from h&m arrived today and it's love! I got black for work but will buy some jean ones from there too now I know they fit well. They are over the bump so loads of room for growth!

GiveMummyTheWhizzer · 16/05/2018 19:47

Nub theory group can't tell anything from my scan pic - so still yellow here until 20 week Scan 🙈🤷🏻‍♀️

Saraswati · 16/05/2018 20:05

What is this nub theory group? I'm intrigued!

bellanotte22 · 16/05/2018 20:15

Think it's called Strictly Nub Theory.

MeredithShepherd · 17/05/2018 07:33

Ive posted my 12 week scan on 3 different nub theory sites and every person who has commented has said boy! I’ll know in 4 weeks and 6 days!

NoCatsHere · 17/05/2018 07:52

meredith be so interesting to see if they are right! I’m going to stay team yellow until the birth although DH wants to find out.

I posted on the nub group and they are saying girl! I’m shocked, surely I only can produce boys?! I’ll believe when I see it!

Poppy2507 · 17/05/2018 10:57

Hey I've not posted on here before. Mostly cos I've been irrationally terrified of having a missed miscarriage, to the point of phoning in sick at work to google it all day and even watching YouTube videos of people finding out when they have one (how awful is that) anyway, I had a 7 week scan a while ago (anxiety got the better of me) and was dated at the 26th, but had my 12 week scan Monday and have moved up a week now making me due on the 20th November :) could I also be added to the Facebook group? Anyone else from Dorset? I've attached my scan pic :) x

Looks like the nub theory group is public so I'm holding off for now! I haven't done a Facebook 'announcement' and probably won't bother. Welcome @poppy2507 glad everything is Ok, I think we've all had our moments when you think the worst. I certainly have and still do although at nearly 15 weeks I'm starting to feel a bit more confident. I'm in Hampshire so not too far from Dorset!
