Hi everyone, I'm brand new to this....waving to you from North East.

We had our scan on Friday and all well. Due date moved forward two days to 22nd Nov.

Any tips for using this group?

GreenMeerkat · 14/05/2018 08:41

Welcome @xXJenXx and congratulations x

Emma0902 · 14/05/2018 08:44

We've got another scan next Wednesday so they can do the NT measurements, then our gender scan will fall on 7th June!

I'm soooo impatient I can't wait to find out pink or blue! My partner is convinced it's a boy and my pregnancy has been different from my DD but I just don't know 🤣🙈

Saraswati · 14/05/2018 09:52

Staying a surprise here but I had hg with dd and less sickness this time so everyone is convinced boy but I'm keeping an open mind! DP and I had a good names conversation yesterday so we have decided a boys name and have 2 final choices for a girl. 14+2 now and dare I say it, feeling pretty Good!! Lota of flutters going on which is reassuring and Brown bleeding has stopped so even dtd last night, dp was dying. Good practice for after birth though!

Good luck to those with scans etc this week!

Hi all, just checking in after a week's holiday in Italy. Miraculously no sickness whilst I was out there, just the usual nausea and tiredness after a big meal, but at least I ate! I broke the rule about deli meat - there was a famous sandwich shop and the menu was strictly in Italian, so I went potluck, and ended up with salami and various other condiments, but it was SO GOOD that I felt it was worth the potential risk. I did avoid the hot tub at the villa though, so I was good on that regard. Typically, back to routine, back to sickness - just when I thought I was easing at 14 + 3, evidently not.

The holiday was with my friend's extended family, so I felt OK about sharing name choices with them, as they barely know me. They loved all of them and suggested a few of their own, so that was good. But I'm thinking we'll keep the sex a secret, as well as the name, once we find out. Boys seem easier for us than a girl. Well, I have lots of girl options but DH is adamant to go with his gran's name, which wouldn't be the end of the world, but it's got other connotations with me which he'd be devastated to hear about, and at the end of the day, I could get over it. So I'm keeping an open mind, and who knows, I might suggest such a good alternative that he decides to go with it!

I'm considering buying a pregnancy pillow - so far I've been using a normal pillow between my knees which has been fine, but do the specific pillows support bump too? That's what I feel is lacking.

My boss still doesn't want me to go public at work as she's yet to work out who will take over my projects - I understand that but I'm going to be showing really obviously soon!!! Maybe I should make it even more obvious so she has to tell everyone?!

Oh, and I'll not be Facebooking - I deleted my account a while back so I'll carry on posting on here :-)

Hufflepuffinalltheway · 14/05/2018 11:54

@xXJenXx hi! I’m in the north east too and I’m due Nov 22nd!

bellanotte22 · 14/05/2018 12:58

Back from the scan, all looking well thank goodness!!

It was a bit of a mystery knowing which room and who to see when. I saw about 5 different people which was confusing and amusing in equal measure!

Great scan pic @bellanotte22 !! Congrats

Seen a couple of 22nd Nov EDDs - we are 21st Nov 😊 xx

bellanotte22 · 14/05/2018 13:20

Thank you HanahMarie they've moved ne forward to the 18th :)

sarahhh1984 · 14/05/2018 13:52

Is anyone else's bump huge? I look about five six months gone already. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I'm guessing I'm just having a bloated day but I feel gigantic and I'm only 14+4.

GreenMeerkat · 14/05/2018 15:18

@sarahhh1984 yes I am massive too!

TinyPawz · 14/05/2018 15:24

I'm a rather large lady but had managed to lose some weight before getting pregnant so much so my one and only belt had to have 2 new holes punched. Well I'm out those and a further 2 other belt holes. So 4 in total. Though because of my general largeness I just look like I'm back eating all the pies rather than a bump

sarahhh1984 · 14/05/2018 15:24

@GreenMeerkat Thank goodness it's not just me. Was in a shop earlier and the lady in there looked shocked when I said I was only 14 weeks. 😂

sarahhh1984 · 14/05/2018 15:25

@TinyPawz I don't think I could face putting on a belt. Everything I'm wearing is super stretchy at the moment.

pipsqueak126 · 14/05/2018 17:21

I'm the same about the belts - after a week in very loose dresses and skirts, I'm glad the weather is still good enough to keep wearing the same, until I buy maternity jeans at least! I've not 'popped out' yet I believe, but DH says I'm definitely showing...

GreenMeerkat · 14/05/2018 18:04

This was me at 11.5 weeks!!! Blush

You can imagine how big I am now at 16 weeks! I was big in my other pregnancies but this is just ridiculous!

MeredithShepherd · 14/05/2018 18:20

My huge bump at 15+1! I wasn’t even showing until about 20 weeks with my son so this feels weird!!!

Nevada54 · 14/05/2018 18:54

I’m loving the bump pics! This is my first and I looks like I’ve just had too many carbs.
Jeggings are getting too tight but I ordered some under the bump ones and they’re very baggy.

My (non pregnant) friend text me this morning with what names she likes for her future children, I think to make sure I wasn’t going to use them Hmm

sarahhh1984 · 14/05/2018 19:53

Thank you for posting the bump pics, ladies. Making me feel much better to know I'm not the only one with a big bump this early!

Melaniesunflower · 14/05/2018 20:59

I just look like I'm putting on weight, but I only have 2 pair of jeans that fits comfortably, so they're spending a lot of time in the washing machine, goodness knows what I'm going to do for the 2 weeks we're away in the camper from next Monday!

Melaniesunflower · 14/05/2018 21:00

Oops, that should be 1 pair of jeans!

Emma0902 · 15/05/2018 06:57

Ladies any advice? My partners grandad has been admitted to hospital with pneumonia and he wants us to go down on the weekend, any one know the restrictions on pregnant people / 1 year old visiting - I don't want to sound selfish when I say I don't want us getting sick or possibly passing something on to him!

Melaniesunflower · 15/05/2018 07:07

I would phone the ward and speak to the staff, they'll let you know their policy, and also if there are any infections you need to worry about. Pneumonia should be ok, but you don't know what other folks have

GiveMummyTheWhizzer · 15/05/2018 11:23

@Emma0902 yep phone ward and take advice from them is your best bet.

Has anyone else got there placenta at the front? X
