I have recently found out I am pregnant and I believe baby would be due 6th January 2019. I know it is such early days, but are there any other Mums-to-be out there who have just discovered they are pregnant and who will be due next year? Sounds crazy saying that!...

I didnt realise you can take gaviscon

LeeCee · 01/06/2018 23:14

Hi all been a while since I checked in, past the 8 week mark now. Booked for a scan at 10+4 and after that we are going to a wedding abroad and holidaying with friends for a week. Don't know how I'm going to keep the secret while we're there! But hoping if the scan goes well we'll feel better about it if we do slip up!

Anyone else gasping with thirst? I cannot drink enough water. Feeling constantly parched!

Leliana · 01/06/2018 23:20

@ash1992 You can take some Gaviscon/equivalent unbranded products: www.madeformums.com/pregnancy/is-it-safe-to-take-gaviscon-for-pregnancy-heartburn/29657.html

WeeBump89 · 01/06/2018 23:54

You can get it in capsule form or in a bottle. Can be drank straight or mixed into hot water. You can get it from pharmacy. We give it to women post csection to help with gas and bloating :)

ash1992 I second Gaviscon or equivalent liquid. It's amazing stuff, I use it even when I'm not pregnant Smile

Ash1992 · 02/06/2018 08:03

@soontobemumof4 so I can get gaviscon in a liquid form not just a tablet? That's great would it help with stomach gas. I'm thinking folic acid supplement is making my stomach make all strange noises :( and cramps

Soontobemumof4 · 02/06/2018 08:21

ash1992 yeah most pharmacies sell It. Comes in a couple of flavours too

Leliana · 02/06/2018 08:29

Good morning all. Feeling tired, but no real nausea today. My predominant symptom remains that my boobs are growing rapidly and are very sore Shock

Leliana · 02/06/2018 08:30

@ash1992 Gaviscon/Peptac/equivalent usually comes in two flabours: peppermint or aniseed. I don't enjoy either, but I find peppermint more tolerable.

One thing I'm struggling with at the moment is making food, so unfortunately I go hungry and get really bad sickness. Luckily though my DH has taken on cooking and preparing food for me so I can eat and enjoy food again. Stupid sense of smell Confused

So I’ve been feeling sick for about three weeks or so now but have had this strong feeling that I wouldn’t actually be sick. Like it all felt pretty safe. But low and behold this morning (dead on 9 weeks today) I was eating breakfast and suddenly had this overwhelming need to vomit and it all came back up. I was so shocked after so long of not actually being sick! Worried that I’m entering a new, more intense phase! I hear weeks 9 and 10 are when HCG levels peak so it could be that...
hope you’re all doing ok!!

NormallySweary · 02/06/2018 11:49

Poor DP. I had 2 blissful days of no nausea and last night he thought he was finally going to see some action. Nope instead he had to just lie there while I ran off to the loo to lose dinner. Pregnancy is not sexy!

I'm 10 weeks tomorrow so I'm hoping the nausea is on it's way out now.

WeeBump89 · 02/06/2018 11:59

When did everyones morning sickness start? Can't help but feel my smugness of not getting it will catch up with me shortly...

LottieMcG · 02/06/2018 12:17

@WeeBump89 me too! I'm worried it will suddenly hit me at some point soon! I'm 6+4 so waiting it out but silently hoping my cramps will be the worst of it 😬

WeeBump89 · 02/06/2018 12:20

@Lottie the cramps are awful aren't they? First time I felt it I was like are you joking I thought period pain was done for 9 months lol

Leliana · 02/06/2018 12:28

I'm 7+6 and have some nausea but no sickness!

DH is still getting plenty of action, but he seems slightly nervous about hurting the baby, bless him! He knows in his head it's safe, but after my bleed last week he's a bit anxious Blush

Frenchiemamax · 02/06/2018 12:36

WeeBump yep been for a scan, definitely just the one in there! Lol. Been having nausea since week 5 but as soon as I hit 7 weeks I’ve been throwing up every morning and feeling sick all day. Today’s my birthday so was hoping to stuff my face with cake but doesn’t look like that will be happening, probably for the best haha

ohhellojo · 02/06/2018 13:21

@ozzyseb bit of a weird question, but does your pain feel like you’ve been kicked in the bits and you’ve bruised ‘down there’? I randomly started feeling that kind of pain last night at work and started spotting a tiny bit so I have an early scan on Monday too. So hoping it’s nothing 🤞🏻

ohhellojo · 02/06/2018 13:22

@Frenchiemamax happy birthday! Hope you keep some cake down!

Ozzyseb · 02/06/2018 13:36

Thank you @bookatbedtime I'm really hoping that's the case! Just so nervous for Monday now more nervous then I thought I would be!

@ohhellojo I guess so yes. The pain had eased off now though, it did feel bruised but it was the crease in the leg (if that makes any sense!) lol what time is your scan on Monday?

Happy birthday @frenchiemamax hope you have a wonderful day! Cake

Leliana · 02/06/2018 13:40

Happy birthday, @frenchiemamax! Hope you have a marvellous day! Cake

ohhellojo · 02/06/2018 14:13

@ozzyseb yes exactly that! Though when I explained that to my OH he said ‘it’s just groin pain! It’ll be your muscles/tendons moving to accomodate your womb!’

Tbf that sounds probably right, but best for us to get it checked out anyway :) good luck for Monday!

Upsydasiy · 02/06/2018 14:21

Happy birthday @frenchiemamax

Frenchiemamax · 02/06/2018 15:48

Thank you lovelies for all the birthday wishes. Currently on way home from our day out with a carrier bag to my mouth! Oh the joys Grin
