I have recently found out I am pregnant and I believe baby would be due 6th January 2019. I know it is such early days, but are there any other Mums-to-be out there who have just discovered they are pregnant and who will be due next year? Sounds crazy saying that!...

@NormallySweary that doesn't sound fun... Hope the no nausea comes back for you. I know what you mean about it not being sexy... I've been finding brushing my teeth makes me nauseous so it's not the best thing for DP ;-)

Happy birthday @frenchiemamax ! Hope the sickness wears off enough for some cake!

WeeBump89 · 02/06/2018 21:54

@frenchie happy birthday! Have some cake for all of us! Hope you have had an amazing day.

More cramping today! Lots and lots of stretching going on in pelvis lol God know what size this baby will be if it’s causing that much fuss as an embryo Confused

Ash1992 · 02/06/2018 22:19

Anyone tried peppermint cordial

emdoc · 03/06/2018 00:53

@WeeBump89 yeah, what is UP with the cramping! I swear nobody talks about that part of early pregnancy but I have had some seriously painful cramps!

@Frenchiemamax happy birthday! Hope you managed to stomach some cake 🎂

I’m 9+4 today and struggling with nausea and sickness. Highlights of my weekend so far include being sick multiple times at work on night shift (while trying to hide it) and sprinting through a public park downtown today to vomit in the bushes after trying to go out for a bit of lunch. Can only seem to tolerate some fluids today 😩 hope others are doing better than I am!

Ash1992 · 03/06/2018 08:13

I'm 7/8 weeks and still getting cramps:( and my stomach sounds all gurgling does anyone else have this

Frenchiemamax · 03/06/2018 09:19

@Ash1992 not tried that cordial before, what’s it for? No cramps here really just constant sickness. Seems to be when I let myself get too hungry but the nausea makes you not want to eat!

Ash1992 · 03/06/2018 09:34

@frenchiemamax it's like peppermint tea helps digestive system. How many weeks are you are you vomiting I've not vomited yet but the nausea seems to make me loose weight

Frenchiemamax · 03/06/2018 09:47

@Ash1992 let us know how you get on if you try it! I’m 7+4 today, proper sickness really kicked in a few days ago. Seem to be throwing up most mornings and evenings

Ash1992 · 03/06/2018 10:39

@frenchiemamax will do x

polkadotjersey · 03/06/2018 11:23

So I'm feeling sorry for myself this weekend (6 + 3).

Realised yesterday that I had a water infection (I seem to get them every six months or so) and got myself really worried as I know they can cause miscarriage.

Took myself to the polyclinic and got prescribed antibiotics to hopefully take care of that and asked the pharmacist what I can take while pregnant for hayfever as I've really been suffering. His answer? Nothing 😒

To top it all off I woke up in the middle of the night because my lower back was really aching so now that's got me worried it's a sign of something wrong! It's such a scary time.

Hope everyone else is feeling a lot better! Thanks for letting me grumble to you x

Leliana · 03/06/2018 13:38

@polkadotjersey It may be worth talking to your GP - there are a few options: www.medicinesinpregnancy.org/Medicine--pregnancy/Hay-fever/

Leliana · 03/06/2018 13:39

I'm 8 weeks today. Still almost 2 weeks until my booking appointment, but it's starting to feel a bit more real now Smile Since my scan I'm more confident that I'll probably end up with a baby at the end of this process!

Thanks @Leliana and @BookAtBedtime Smile

We've just moved so I haven't registered with a GP yet but that sounds like a good idea.

BookAtBedtime, good spot! I'm a massive cycling fan (watching not doing, I'm more of a runner usually). Are you?

@BookAtBedtime Oh amazing! We haven't got our telly set up at the new house yet so will be catching up in the week.

Glad to hear your scan went well. I got appointments through last week for my booking appointment when I'll be 8 weeks exactly and a scan at 12+4. I did chase them after I hadn't heard anything for a week since my referral though.

Leliana · 03/06/2018 14:28

@BookAtBedtime I had to self-refer to the midwives. My appointment is at 9+5.

How is everyone this afternoon? Had a nice morning - went to church, then DH cooked a roast dinner. I've just realised I'll be 37 weeks pregnant at Christmas and I am very seriously tempted to volunteer to be Mary at our church Nativity play this year Grin

LG93 · 03/06/2018 16:28

Small update from me as I'm still feeling rubbish and don't have much energy to post although I'm lurking religiously! Tablets were working well, today they're not. At GP on Tuesday so hopefully she can adjust the dose or something and help me feel a bit better.

RE:hayfever in pregnancy - I take citirizine daily and use a steroid spray when I need it - I asked my GP before falling pregnant if it was safe to carry on and she said they were both things they'd give in pregnancy if needed so not to worry but not to take them if I didn't need them. My hayfever seems worse since falling pregnant so have had to carry on, but mine is extreme and I suffer all year round so didn't expect to be able to stop them! Definitely see a gp - as with most drugs they won't have been 'proven' safe for pregnancy as they can't test on pregnant women so technically pharmacist was right, but gps will know what is and isn't safe to prescribe

Frenchiemamax · 03/06/2018 17:38

Also suffering with hayfever here so thank you for your tips! I’m after a bit of advice, my DB is getting married in Australia at the end of October, I have booked my flight but have just registered that, with a 7 month bump, it won’t be the most comfortable flight (or holiday). What would you ladies do? Shall I cut my losses and cancel my flight? I think the travelling and heat may be too much at that stage.

Leliana · 03/06/2018 18:13

@Frenchiemamax There is some advice here: www.netdoctor.co.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-family/a9098/pregnancy-and-travel/

After 28 weeks you may need a letter from a doctor or midwife stating your pregnancy is straightforward. If it's straightforward the airline may well agree to carry you - but if you have any complications they may well decline. It's too early to know if you will have complications, really. At the very least, you should book amazingly comprehensive travel insurance, valid from now, that would cover you if you find out later that you cant travel.

Thanks ladies for the advice! Also if anyone has travelled that far at 7 months I’d be interested to know how you got on 😁

Ash1992 · 03/06/2018 19:47

Is anyone 7 and a half weeks
