I have recently found out I am pregnant and I believe baby would be due 6th January 2019. I know it is such early days, but are there any other Mums-to-be out there who have just discovered they are pregnant and who will be due next year? Sounds crazy saying that!...

@thereareworsethingsicoulddo I’m so sorry to hear that. Thinking of you Flowers

I’m so happy to hear of all the good scans today! I hope it continues for all of us.

@Leliana, I bet we are in the same field! I’m Canadian (randomly ended up on MN and got used to it before I realized it’s almost all UK 🤣) so I’m on Diclectin which we use here, it’s B6 + an antihistamine. Antihistamines usually make me really drowsy but I’m only taking the diclectin at bedtime so I can’t tell!

Yesterday I went to my GP for my booking in appt and to schedule the 12 week scan... was standing on the scale and one of my best friends walked right out of another room! I didn’t realize she was working

emdoc · 31/05/2018 03:17

Oops posted early working there that day (she was covering for someone). It was pretty funny because it was clear why I’d be there doing that so I just admitted to being pregnant! She and her husband are two of our best friends so I don’t really mind. They’re the first out of our immediate family to know though. Small towns are funny!

Frenchiemamax · 31/05/2018 07:37

So sorry thereareworsethingsicoulddo ❤️

gemsparkle84 · 31/05/2018 07:44

Sorry @thereareworsethingsicoulddo xxx

Feeling rubbish this morning. Woke up at 3.30am with a terrible headache... I remember headaches with my 1st so I was expecting them at some point. Thought I could be dehydrated so sipped squash for an hour then I had to take a couple of paracetamol. I know it's fine I took them a lot with my 1st but still didn't want to take any ha ha. Didn't get to sleep again til nearly 5. Feeling a bit better this morning. Btw if there is anyone else expecting number 2- with a 2 year old- Confused

Hope everyone isn't feeling too ropey. Xx

Jebbs · 31/05/2018 09:28

So sorry @thereareworsethingsicoulddo

@Leliana I get 3 months full pay, but I also have a holiday savings account (you can get bonuses paid into this in hours, put un-unused holidays in it etc) and, if I understand correctly, I can add time on from this without the company having a say and it means my salary continues during the full maternity time. It means that I'm aiming for about 6 months, maybe just over as DH works in the education system and he'll be on holiday in July to take over. Means we wouldn't need childcare until September.

KnucklestheEchidna · 31/05/2018 09:42

Currently 8+4 according to my Natural Cycles app, haven't had many symptoms at all which worries me a bit haha. I have my booking appointment on Monday, could anyone advise what I should expect on the day? First pregnancy, so everything is new!

Emz1989 · 31/05/2018 09:47

Hi again everyone, just catching up. I briefly introduced myself last week and have just been a bit lurky since!
6+1 by my calculations and not feeling too dodgy yet, just wiped out with exhaustion.
Had a bit of a worry last week - I’m a primary teacher and there were 2 confirmed cases of slapped cheek so my GP sent me for bloods. I’ve since been told the results of the virus immunity were ok but the gp would like to meet me today to discuss results from a liver function test they did. Anyone know anything about this, not even sure if it’s pregnancy related!! Thanks x

Upsydasiy · 31/05/2018 11:00

@thereareworsethingsicoulddo sending hugs 🤗 to you.

I’m still feeling pretty sick 🤢 managing to eat small amounts though so that’s a positive.
Hope everyone is okay.

Soontobemumof4 · 31/05/2018 11:45

upsydasiy same here, not been sick for a couple of hours, im feeling so sick but whenever I eat even the smallest of things or drink anything my stomach cramps up. Really struggling to look after the other kids today. Sickness woke me up at 6am too Sad

purplesmiler · 31/05/2018 12:53

Hi ladies,

I haven't been on for a couple of weeks as I had some bleeding and I have been under the EPU (who have been brilliant) for tests and scans. Given my previous MC I thought it was happening again, my initial scan showed nothing however my blood levels rose each time I was tested so I was a bit of a mystery.

Felt in limbo but carried on as you do anyway I had another scan today and there was a sac with a yolk which they told us was good as it shows the development since my first scan. I am two weeks behind where I thought I was according to measurements (5w3days) however my cycles were long so it is likely I ovulated later.

Feel cautiously happy and have another scan in two weeks so hopefully there will be more progress.

Have noticed my body shape changing the past few days and have very sore breasts. Also lots of burping at all times of the day and night.

Hugs to you all x x

Frenchiemamax · 31/05/2018 13:41

Fingers are crossed for you purplesmiler xx

gemsparkle84 · 31/05/2018 14:16

Yes @purplesmiler sounds good.

I work in a restaurant and let's just say the smells are a challenge at the minute Confused

Frenchiemamax · 31/05/2018 14:28

Just popped out to the supermarket at lunch with a male colleague, had to subtly unbutton my jeans in the car 😂

WeeBump89 · 31/05/2018 15:51

So excited for my scan now on 16th!! I will be 7+6. Nervous. Any advice for the tiredness. I got myself a pregnancy pillow yesterday and it helped a little for support but still struggling.

Frenchiemamax · 31/05/2018 15:54

weebump my only advice for tiredness is just sleep whenever you can! I’ve been napping after work for an hour most days and it helps me get through the evenings

gemsparkle84 · 31/05/2018 16:09

Yes @WeeBump89 I forgot about my 5 foot long sausage pillow!!! I need to get it out I think the time has come. I'm only 6 weeks but 2nd baby and so so bloated it's ridiculous. I'm already wearing maternity leggings on my days off. They're so flipping comfy!!

WeeBump89 · 31/05/2018 16:11

Thanks girlies. I'm a midwife so you would think I knew everything but the funny part is once it happens to you... you get baby brain and lose the plot lol

gemsparkle84 · 31/05/2018 16:13

Wish I could nap 🙈 I have a 2 year old and a full time job... I would love a nap... zzz

Soontobemumof4 · 31/05/2018 16:30

gemsparkle84 me too, I've got three here stopping me napping Hmm mine are 6, 3 and 1! I've no hope lol

NormallySweary · 31/05/2018 18:30

Stop saying the word nap! Still at least another 2 hours before I can contemplate one of those 😢

jennac · 31/05/2018 18:47

So I’m 8+6 today and have started getting this dull ache really low down on my back/just above my bum. It’s not at all like the lower back pain I had early on, it doesn’t feel like my back at all but as I say; a dull ache. Kind of like period pains maybe? Any ideas? Thanks!

Leliana · 31/05/2018 19:11

Met relatives with young children today to enjoy some half term fun. I'm absolutely exhausted - I've been on my feet all day. I feel like I'm ready for bed already! I'm starting to get a lot of low back pain, which is presumably due to things expanding and moving around in my pelvis.

It's been difficult being around family and not blabbing, but we specifically don't want to tell children in the family until after 20 weeks in case we need a TFMR. My parents and DH's parents both know, but that's all. I think I will tell my sister tonight, if I can do so discreetly.

Some reassuring stats here for those of us who have seen healthy heartbeats on scans, particularly at 7/8 weeks or beyond: www.google.co.uk/amp/s/expectingscience.com/2015/08/26/lies-damned-lies-and-miscarriage-statistics/amp/
