I have recently found out I am pregnant and I believe baby would be due 6th January 2019. I know it is such early days, but are there any other Mums-to-be out there who have just discovered they are pregnant and who will be due next year? Sounds crazy saying that!...

Hi everyone! Welcome to all the new bfps!
Sounds like we are all pretty similar! Exhausted and a bit nauseous! I got up 3 times overnight with dd no idea how im going to cope until 5 at work!
I just take folic acid (on top of inhaler, thyroxine and anti depressants I've just started!).
Slight pain/ uncomfortableness in your tummy is fine, I've got it and had it last time too, as is constipation and/or diahorrea - pregnancy is lovely!
For nausea, mints or ginger biscuits were my friends last time!
It does usually get better after the first trimester! I really enjoyed being pregnant after the first bit last time even though we didnt tell anyone until 15 weeks and most people after 20!

stegosauruslady · 15/05/2018 09:58

The stretching feeling was doing my head in yesterday, super uncomfortable especially if I bent in particular ways! I'm mega sick today, I had to walk past the bin truck twice on the school run this morning and nearly threw up in the street!

Thanks for the reminder about mints @Maxbenji, I'd forgotten, but I'll grab some today...it helped me loads in previous pregnancies!

We are off to tell DP's Mum today, she is going to be sooo excited!

Pyxie · 15/05/2018 11:57

@stegosauruslady yes, I'm also a runner and finding it quite tough atm. Just hope I can keep up with my running club tomorrow! The second trimester is definitely easier.

I've just booked a private scan for tomorrow and got my booking in appointment sorted for 30th May.

I'm so over this exhaustion now!

LG93 · 15/05/2018 16:11

Morning sickness arrived today at 4w+6. I actually prefer it to the low level nausea I've had up until now as I actually felt better after, although feeling nauseous again now this afternoon.

I'm so excruciatingly tired I can barely function.

I also feel really guilty as I'm not feeling excited or anything really about this pregnancy. DH is so excited and I really thought I would be - it's all I ever wanted and now its happened i just feel really indifferent. I don't feel pregnant apart from the symptoms and I'm struggling to connect the dots that there's a baby At the end of this, and when I do think of the baby ijist worry that I won't love it enough because surely I'm meant to be in love with it already. I'm going to be an awful mum aren't I 🙈

I almost darent write this down in fesr of judgement but I almost feel that if someone told me now I wasn't pregnant anymore I would just carry on as normal... I'm not sure if this is a defence mechanism or if I just have no maternal instinct despite having been broody for my whole life 😩

Ash1992 · 15/05/2018 16:32

You feel like that due to hormones I feel like that too quiet low when we should be happy but apparently the second trimester is much better

LeeCee · 15/05/2018 18:43

@LG93 I feel the same! Was so excited for first week or so after we found out but have been on a real downer since. Trying to tell myself it's just the hormones and not overanalyse but it's so awful. Had one moment of sheer panic couple of nights ago thinking what have I got myself in to! This baby is going to come out of me and my life and body will never be the same again!! 😂😂 of course that's what I've been hoping and longing for! It's mad. Can not wait to perk back up. For now I'm just taking it easy, dosing up on chocolate and getting hugs from Himself.

LG93 · 15/05/2018 19:30

Thanks ladies - it's so reassuring to know it's not just me - I'd genuinely convinced myself I was going to fail as a mother! 🙈 I'll put it down to pesky hormones and keep putting one foot in front of the other until I feel better

Ash1992 · 15/05/2018 20:32

Anyone felt blocked or pulsating ear

Januarybaby19 · 15/05/2018 23:05

Hello everyone, I have just found out I am pregnant (yesterday) and it definitely hasn’t sunk in yet! Stupid question but when am I supposed to go to the doctors?! You can probably tell I am a first-timer... Confused

Maxbenji · 16/05/2018 06:50

I'm going tonight, think I'm 8 weeks but took 3 weeks to get appt! The doctor will refer you to the midwife, so it doesn't matter too much when. They usually have the first appointment between 8-10 weeks for booking in and then a scan.

In terms of being unhappy, I think its relatively normal until you get a scan for confirmation and start to get a bump and can feel the baby. Its a mixture of hormones, keeping the biggest secret in the world, and worrying it will be ok.
We are all here to support each other xx

helloworld88 · 16/05/2018 07:30

@Maxbenji keeping the biggest secret in the world 😂😂 yep that's exactly what it feels like with me too!

Januarybaby19 · 16/05/2018 07:42

Thank you for the info! I totally agree about needing more confirmation, I don’t really feel like it’s real yet. I’ll ring the doctors today for a appointment, I’m 4wks today. xx

purplesmiler · 16/05/2018 08:16

Hi all

Im 5+6 known for a few days now, anxious as we had a MC 20 months ago and it has taken us some time to get our bfp. Want to get excited but also holding back if that makes sense. Having some symptoms mainly pulling and have been feeling icky the past couple of days. Fingers crossed for our pregnancy journeys to be positive experiences xx

Upsydasiy · 16/05/2018 08:44

Morning all. Checking in for the day
Congratulations to all the new bfp

I know what you all mean about not feeling real it’s no my sunk in here either!

I’m currently away for a few days on a pre-arranged trip and it’s the hardest thing keeping this secret! So worried about alcohol situation. 🙈

Lollipop86 · 16/05/2018 12:24

Hi everyone! Joining with a due date of 15 Jan. Had a mc last month so can't quite believe things could be so different already. Fingers crossed for everyone and looking forward to sharing updates! Xxx

Ash1992 · 16/05/2018 13:06

@lollipop86 I'm due the 9th jan. Oh no sorry to hear that how many weeks were you? Are you feeling positive ? I think that's the key

isambardo · 16/05/2018 13:21

@purplesmiler I know just how you feel. I'm six weeks today but having had two miscarriages last year I've been quite reticent this time. I've been feeling extremely sick though, which I guess is a good sign!

I've made my booking appointment with the midwife so it feels a bit more real now, it's not till I'm 9 weeks so I hope it doesn't delay the 12 week scan.

@januarybaby where I am you can self refer to the midwife and the first appointment is usually at 8 weeks. Just ask the gp receptionist.

Lollipop86 · 16/05/2018 13:30

@Ash1992 I was 7 weeks so not passed that point but can't help but be so excited. I haven't told my husband yet, I think he'll be really anxious after last time. It's our wedding anniversary tomorrow though so feels like the perfect time to tell him xx

helloworld88 · 16/05/2018 14:16

Aww @Lollipop86 that's a lovely time to tell him :)

Notevenmyrealname · 16/05/2018 14:20

Seems like a lot of people are having similar symptoms. I’ve been feeling a bit like I’ve made a big mistake getting pregnant again and have been feeling really anxious today. All day I’ve felt like something terrible is going to happen. I was six weeks yesterday and have my booking in appt on 31st. Last week I was busy with family stuff and felt a bit anxious but just put it down to having a lot on, but there’s no reason now so I’m thinking it’s hormones. Wish they would get lost though. Also, is anyone losing weight? I’ve not had much of an appetite and have actually lost a few pounds in the last couple of weeks. I know this will change once the baby starts getting bigger but I’m hoping it’s nothing to worry about and is just because of the nausea / anxiety / hormones.

Frenchiemamax · 16/05/2018 14:53

*noteven sorry to hear you feel like that, hope it’s hornones and passes soon. I’ve also lost a few lbs in the past week / 10 days. It’s so important for us to get nutrients but I just can’t stomach much atm!

TheNewDelia · 16/05/2018 18:51

@LG93 I think it's a very odd period, feels very surreal especially when you can't tell people and feel sick all the time! Please don't worry, how you feel now isn't an indication of how you will feel later!

I'm struggling a bit at work - feel sick all day and eating bits and pieces all day to calm my stomach @Notevenmyrealname, no chance of me losing weight but I've heard that's fairly common! Exercise seems very unappealling but going to try to go for a swim later Hmm

LG93 · 16/05/2018 19:45

Thanks everyone. I've had some issues at work (was going through disciplinary action unfairly - saying I had done something I hadnt and could have resulted as gross misconduct/dismissal) I thought I was dealing with well with my 'truth will out' attitude but they've finally been resolved it today (and dropped the accusations) and I feel like a weight has been lifted and I feel a bit happier actually. I told my manager too today (once it was sorted as didn't want the information to sway any decisions either way) and she was really happy for me. She promised not to tell anyone until I'm ready but the morning sickness is starting to rear it's ugly head and the nausea is still strong so I wanted it noted that if I disappear from my desk for extended periods of time that I'm not skiving but poorly - especially in the light of the recent accusations! She's the first person other than DH and strangers that I've told. It feels a bit more real now

Ash1992 · 16/05/2018 20:03

@Lg93 how many weeks are you? I'm 6 weeks not had any vomiting yet just feel little sick now and then

LG93 · 16/05/2018 20:17

5 today I think - although if you go by LMP I'm 5+6. I've felt nauseous since before I even took a test (caused me to test early and get bfp at 9dpo!) - I've only been sick a couple of times but I suspect it'll only get worse!
