I have recently found out I am pregnant and I believe baby would be due 6th January 2019. I know it is such early days, but are there any other Mums-to-be out there who have just discovered they are pregnant and who will be due next year? Sounds crazy saying that!...

@Penelopepitstop23 funny you should mention that, I got my hair cut today and was actually falling asleep which has never happened to me before! So maybe this is more than my “usual” tiredness haha 🤔

Frenchiemamax · 11/05/2018 23:02

Is anyone struggling terribly with insomnia? Between that and the awful thrush I’m finding it hard to enjoy these precious first weeks ☹️

charlybs · 12/05/2018 06:21

@Frenchie get to the Dr about the thrush if you haven't already. they can prescribe you pessaries and you're fine to use the cream too - just not the oral tablet.

Also it's totally fine not to enjoy bits (or all) of pregnancy. I had a rough time last time with my first and expectations vs. reality really floored me! I thought I would be this glowing earth mama whose body was a temple, ended up being a tired grouchy harpy who could only eat pickled onion monster munch. We have a ridiculous amount of hormones rushing around our bodies which is sending everything squiffy - not exactly the recipe for a beautiful harmonious experience xxx

Upsydasiy · 12/05/2018 06:55

Good morning all 😊
Early morning insomnia is now making me grouchy 😩
Also feeling pretty green today 🤢 but stopped at MIL so trying to just ignore it. Send help!! 😂

Penelopepitstop2306 · 12/05/2018 06:56

@charlybs well said. I went to bed exhausted and have today woken up at 5am still exhausted. Got to get up in 10 minutes to get ready to walk for my hair cut. I'm not feeling glowy I just feel tired and irritable.

My mum has asked DH and I to help her move things in her house today. She has had building work so all the furniture is in the wrong rooms. She is driving me potty because everyday something else is wrong. We haven't told her yet so I'm now stuck between DH panicking if I lift more than a cushion and my mum moaning the house is upside down. It's going to be a long day 🙈

Sorry for a grumpy start to the day all. I'm going to have to give myself a talking to and try to nap later.

ohhellojo · 12/05/2018 07:55

Anyone seen a difference in their hair/skin/nails? The OH said ‘ooh I like your eyelashes! When did you have those done?’ And I’m like wtf you on about? But my lashes are almost touching my bloody eyebrows atm! Shame my hair and nails aren’t growing so fast 😔

stegosauruslady · 12/05/2018 08:06

@ohhellojo My hair is lush at the moment! I have quite thick, curly hair and it is definitely thicker and shinier.

@charlybs I totally agree. I have three DDs and have hated pregnancy at different points in each one! Cling to the moments of enjoyment you do find! Also, I find that replacing alcohol with ice cream is a valid pregnancy coping strategy.

I have to take the DDs clothes shopping today, school summer dresses and a few summery bits. I might stop in on the maternity wear sections while I'm there, the bloat is real!

LG93 · 12/05/2018 08:23

My hair looks beautiful- my nails are all split and broke at the minute- my nails are usually lovely so it's strange!

We've reached a new low in hiding the pregnancy- we've just booked a mini break with DH'S cousins to Rome for march as we said we'd go before I fell pregnant and it would look suspicious if we booked out! Not sure taking an 8 week old to Rome is very wise though...

loopdeelou · 12/05/2018 10:18

Hair and nails have definitely improved. My nails are rock hard 😍. One plus at least.

Also and without meaning to rub it in to those with insomnia, I'm also grateful for the tiredness and getting 13 hours sleep last night (sorry!). Only just woke up. Best make the most of these lie ins in case insomnia kicks in and before you all say that you told me so! 😁

@loopdeelou I’m jealous I’m sleeping well just getting up stupidly early 😩

LG93 · 12/05/2018 15:16

Just trekked around the south of England looking for new bras - I got measured in bravissimo and I'm now a FF! All the maternity ones werent very comfy or supportive, so I'm sticking with a well fitting underwired bra for now and will switch into wireless in a few months when I cant put it off anymore!

LeeCee · 12/05/2018 16:01

Hope all you girls are enjoying your weekends so far. I have hit a wall of exhaustion today absolutely wrecked! And the hormones are making me so blue also. Cuddled up on the couch feeling sorry for myself! And watching knocked up! 😂

Maxbenji · 12/05/2018 16:28

We were up at 6.20 and playgroup for 2 hours this morning. DD had a nap, I did jobs, now on sofa but need to move soon.
Started feeling sick this afternoon, I felt similar first pregnancy but never actually threw up!
Hit a wall of tiredness each day by about 11, but just have to work through it.

Upsydasiy · 12/05/2018 18:35

I’ve given into tiredness today. Went up for a power nap at 3 and the DH didn’t have the heart to wake me so I’ve just got up now for a wee. Feel grumpy with myself that I’ve slept so long. But OMG I’m exhausted I could go back to sleep!!

ld1234 · 12/05/2018 18:46

Exhaustion has hit me today too, like a tonne of bricks. Looking forward to sleep tonight and hoping I don't wake up too early like previous days. Have a good rest of the weekend girls

Penelopepitstop2306 · 12/05/2018 19:56

Sounds like tiredness has hit us all today. I just about managed to to stay awake at the hair dressers this morning but have been snoozy all afternoon.

DH and I helped my mum sort her house out from her building work. I was very careful not to lift a lot and to move carefully but have had some pinching feelings in my tummy since having a rest. I'm a bit concerned but trying to stay calm and positive.

peaches1991 · 13/05/2018 08:19

Anyone else had their booking in appointment letter? Mine is next week, I think I'll be about 7+4 - sounds like its going to be a v long appointment!

charlybs · 13/05/2018 09:28

it's mostly them telling you a bunch of public health stuff like don't smoke. They take a medical history just so anything important is flagged. It's not arduous!

stegosauruslady · 13/05/2018 10:36

Morning! Yes, I was hit by tiredness yesterday too. Felt horrible walking home with the DDs, but dragged myself back out to visit friends and I'm pleased that I did.

Today there will be six children in my house for most of the day, so I will be hiding on my PC gaming!

MrsH1990 · 13/05/2018 21:58

Hi I'm !nearly 6 Weeks with my first. The exhaustion and bloating is shocking. Call me in denial but I didn't realise how much pregnancy drains you in the first few weeks! I feel like I've hit a brick wall around 2pm 😩

I've got a full day & night of "drinking" next Saturday with my friends for a hen! Got a pizza & prosecco festival 12-5 and 6.30-11.30 Bongos Bingo I don't know how I'm going to hide the "not drinking" & also the exhaustion. Any tips would be great please xxx

LeeCee · 13/05/2018 22:23

Welcome @MrsH1990 I think we're all too exhausted to even post much on this forum recently! 😂

For your sessions I'd suggest going with a tooth infection - the meds for that you can't drink on, and being ill would give you an explanation for being tired?

mrsgreen13 · 13/05/2018 22:58

Hi all!
We found out last night we are pregnant! Had an inkling so have been testing this week but only got a positive yesterday (on our wedding night!) We have only been TTC a few weeks - selfishly because AF was due on the wedding day so thought we would start trying a bit early and see if we could prevent that mess.
We have had to cancel our original honeymoon plans because DH has recently been diagnosed stage 5 CKD and can't travel far. We booked a lovely treehouse with private hot tub instead and now realised I won't be able to use it!
We do like a drink in my family, so will be very hard to hard from my mum - especially as we work together! I expect I will tell her when we have confirmation from the doctor but want to wait to tell everyone else. DH's two brothers have babies due November and we will be due 21st Jan so looking forward to going through it together.

I'm currently reading up on the do's and don'ts and vitamins, does anyone have any suggestions? I take biotin, omega 3+6, vit c + zinc and vit d +calcium anyway, so will I be okay to cut out the omegas and add in a folic acid or am I better off with a specialised pregnancy tablet? I take fluoxetine as well so don't want to be taking a cocktail of pills - sorting out DH's half a dozen tabs each day is enough for me!

MrsH1990 · 14/05/2018 07:32

@LeeCee thank you! Good idea! I will try and use that one. X

@mrsgreen13 I have been taking pregnacare it's got like 19 vitamins in one folic acid being one of them. Saves stressing about taking loads! Good luck! Xx

stegosauruslady · 14/05/2018 08:18

@MrsH1990 Are you in Liverpool?

@mrsgreen13 Congratulations! Welcome to the knackered, bloated vommy thread!

I'm now five weeks pregnant! Is anyone else finding it super difficult to continue to exercise? I'm a pretty serious runner, but my legs are like lead at the moment! Bit worried about it, I'm hoping it will pass with this first trimester!

MrsH1990 · 14/05/2018 08:38

@stegosauruslady Yes I'm in Liverpool, are you? X
