I have recently found out I am pregnant and I believe baby would be due 6th January 2019. I know it is such early days, but are there any other Mums-to-be out there who have just discovered they are pregnant and who will be due next year? Sounds crazy saying that!...

@loopdeelou I didn’t mean you disagreeing hun 😊 I meant in general 😊

I know what you mean and you can’t be 100% reassured by an early scan but same that you can’t be 100% by a 12 week scan

I thought about it for a long time and I really feel like I will drive myself insane wondering if bean (or beans) are doing okay. Plus I think it will help make things a bit real 😊

You just have to way up the pros and cons and decide what’s best for you lovely! Xx

loopdeelou · 11/05/2018 13:06

@Upsydasiy think it came out wrong... wasn't a dig 😁. I am such a worrier. If it was up to me i would have a scan every week!

@loopdeelou 😂 good old internet

Same! That’s why we’ve booked a scan already 😂

Think the worrying is heightened with the first trimester been a strange excited but lonely experience!

Glad we all have this space to share it with each other x

Woody096 · 11/05/2018 13:14

We are going to have an early pregnancy scan, probably around 8 weeks. I have booked into see the midwife at the end of the month.
Took another test this morning as I have no real symptoms.... other.... than wind! Still positive. I think the symptoms kicked in last pregnancy about week8. So maybe I should count my blessings for now!

Pyxie · 11/05/2018 13:22

@Maxbenji I'm also on ADs for PND from my first. I'm wondering about whether to try coming off them or not.

Anyone else crazy thirsty? It's not helping with all the peeing 😄

Maxbenji · 11/05/2018 13:28

Pyxie, I've only been on them a week, but was on for over 6 months after having my dd.

I think I'll be 8 weeks next week when i see the doctor and no ideas when I'll get a booking in appt, probably the same time as the scan!

Hungry all the time and don't feel full, put on loads of weight last time so trying to limit myself & eat healthily. No nausea yet though so all good!

loopdeelou · 11/05/2018 13:33

I think if we go for a scan then we'll probably aim for week 8. I'm dying to tell people but feel like I need some concrete evidence first! I'm feeling rotten and it's awful to feel so ill and act like you're fine! I'd usually be moaning to my parents if I was ill but DH doesn't want to tell anyone yet so I'll have to be patient.

Help I’m addicted to peeing on sticks 😂🙈

I can’t help myself! Did another cheap pound test this afternoon and in a week it’s gone from a squinter to a nice bold line 🤞 (DH asked if there’s more than one in there 🙈 twins run in the family!)

emdoc · 11/05/2018 16:38

@Upsydasiy oooh, maybe you’re the twins on this thread! Seems like there’s bound to be one. Also I hear you on the shift work and chronic exhaustion! I’ve felt very tired at times but that’s so normal for me that I can’t really blame it on the pregnancy! 😂

Constant nausea here for me. Also my dog stepped on my boob yesterday and I nearly cried it hurt so much! I’ve had some very intense cramps too. Didn’t realize in advance that early pregnancy had so many uncomfortable symptoms. We leave on a holiday on Sunday, I hope I’m not feeling too miserable! Also have to get through a visit with friends tomorrow before we leave without arousing suspicion by not drinking 😬

loopdeelou · 11/05/2018 16:51

Hope you have a nice holiday @emdoc!
I didn't realise there'd be so many symptoms either! I had this illusion that pregnancy was fine until you got really big 🤔. I'm hoping some of the symptoms either subside or I get used to them! I feel like collapsing on the sofa.

Glad I'm not the only one addicted to peeing on a stick! Did the digital one today just to see the word pregnant :) loved seeing my line get stronger over time too but it's just something different about seeing those words and the weeks!

Frenchiemamax · 11/05/2018 17:25

How long are you ladies going to carry on testing for? I’ve done 8 tests, I’m 4+3 but just want to keep doing them to make sure my little seed is still there! DH thinks I’m mad 😬

blorgzorb · 11/05/2018 17:40

I've only done one Grin, should I do more?! I mean, my period hasn't come, my boobs are bigger than they've ever been and I feel utterly knackered so I THINK I'm preggo Shock

blorgzorb · 11/05/2018 17:44

So good to read I'm not alone with waking up early too. At least an hour before my alarm goes off at 6 I keep waking up. I'm forcing myself back to sleep but it's not really a restful sleep. Anyone else having vivid dreams?! I'm dreaming every night. Not about crazy stuff it's all pretty mundane but it hasn't let up for a month.

helloworld88 · 11/05/2018 17:56

@Frenchiemamax think I've done about 8 too!

@blorgzorb I'm not getting many symptoms yet which is probably why I keep testing!

charlybs · 11/05/2018 18:05

oh my goodness the sickness is back with a vengeance. spent all day on bed with my head in a bucket. can't wait for my GP appt so I can get some anti sickness meds it's awful. was never this bad with my first!!

Upsydasiy · 11/05/2018 18:09

You guys have all made me feel a little less mad now 😂 thank you ❤️

@blorgzorb 👏 well done you have more self restraint than me. I’ve done more tests then I care to think about!

@emdoc don’t 🙈😂 I am worried that twins may be a possibility.
Growing one successfully scares me enough! Also have a lovely holiday!

@loopdeelou are ther mess helping your sickness?

Upsydasiy · 11/05/2018 18:10

@charlybs hope you manage to get some anti-sickness and feel better soon. How many weeks are you?

charlybs · 11/05/2018 18:22

@upsydasiy thanks. Not 100% sure as I didn't have a period (fell straight after coming off contraception), but my clear blue when I took it said 2-3 weeks so I'm guessing I am roughly 5 weeks now? Doubt I'll know for sure until the 12 week scan

charlybs · 11/05/2018 18:50

actually i am pretty sure I know date of conception as DH works away a lot. a conception due date calculator put my EDD at 28 December, which is mildly terrifying as I'm also having elective caesarean due to complications from the 1st so we are looking at just before Christmas! Hoping that's wrong, we have a Hogmany wedding to go to in Edinburgh haha!!

stegosauruslady · 11/05/2018 19:09

charlybs Christmas baby for you...I hope you have someone to cook Christmas dinner for you!

I'm super pleased to be having a mid-winter baby, DD3 was the middle of December and it was so nice to just relax in front of the fire with a blanket and a snuggly newborn! I'm really looking forward to it.

This baby was conceived while we were on holiday in Turkey, DP has been told that it is not having a Turkey themed name!

charlybs · 11/05/2018 19:12

@stegosaurus ooh that would go down very well after the the effort of labour though wouldn't it? pass the yorkshires!! (it would also mean we don't have to trek halfway round England trying to visit everyone in the holidays - result!)

Penelopepitstop2306 · 11/05/2018 20:12

Evening all!
@blorgzorb I normally do have really vivid dreams but right now I can't remember any! It's so strange.
@charlybs I hope you get some anti sickness medicine soon to help you feel better.
DH and I are hoping for a quiet Christmas on our own at home. Our family is quite a way away so would be nice to just be on our own for the last time.

LG93 · 11/05/2018 21:15

Just checking in for the day. Been reading my new pregnancy books tonight (expecting better - thanks for the recommendation and 'how to grow a baby and push it pit's which seems quite good.

Feeling sick again. Only ate half my dinmer and now trying not to fall asleep on the sofa 😴

Penelopepitstop2306 · 11/05/2018 21:27

@LG93 I am reading how to grow a baby and push it out too. I've found it to skip over the early pregnancy very quickly so far but am finding it interesting for later on.

I'm exhausted tonight have managed to fall asleep on the sofa since my last post now dragged myself off to bed. The only good thing if I wake up early tomorrow is that I have an early hair cut booked so at least it won't be a mad dash to the salon. Will try not to fall asleep whilst having my hair washed 😴 night all!
