I have recently found out I am pregnant and I believe baby would be due 6th January 2019. I know it is such early days, but are there any other Mums-to-be out there who have just discovered they are pregnant and who will be due next year? Sounds crazy saying that!...

@Penelopepitstop2306 welcome to the group. As for the midwife appointment, I just phoned my doctors reception and said I've had a positive home test and they said all I had to do was book in with the midwife. Got an appointment for the 21st as she only works 3 sessions a week. I will be 8 weeks then but was never asked how far along I was when I phoned to make the appointment.

Penelopepitstop2306 · 09/05/2018 21:34

@jellyfish2210 @Frenchiemamax thanks for the advice. I will call GP reception tomorrow because I don't want to take a GP appointment if I don't need one. I have no reason to see a doctor rather than a midwife. I'd used my surgery's new fangled online booking service which completely confused me so I'll go back to calling them I think.

I told two of my good friends at work today as they are both expecting and told me from an early stage so that was very exciting. DH and I are going to stay with Brother and SIL with my mum on bank holiday weekend at the end of the month so will tell them then and then MIL the following weekend. I'll be 7 weeks for my family and 8 for DH's so I think that'll be ok.

Hope you're all doing well ladies. Smile

Pearcrumble · 09/05/2018 21:57

@laurs2309 hope the doctors could give you some relief!

@LG93 it's hard not to analyse every twitch and twinge, and even harder to be relaxed! I hope you're feeling a bit more at ease though.

@frenchiemamax I've not told anyone except partner, trying to wait until I'm further than 4/5 weeks. It's a bit easier cause I moved to a new area recently away from old friends and family so haven't had the face to face temptation yet! Maybe when my parents visit in a couple of weeks I'll crack

Pearcrumble · 09/05/2018 21:58

Oh and thanks for the welcome everyone, and hello and congrats to all the new joiners, quite a flurry today and yesterdaySmile

Upsydasiy · 09/05/2018 22:17

Congratulations to all the new joiners ❤️

Just got in from work and I’m exhausted hit a wall about 3-4pm and feel like I need a nap. But at 4-5am im wide awake 😂

Hope everyone has had a good day 😊

We’ve decided we are going to tell my mum and dad on the bank holiday weekend. We are going to have an early scan in a couple of weeks 😊 want to wait til 12 weeks to tell everyone else but I’m really close to my mum so if anything was to happen she’d be my support. So excited to tell them! Feels strange keeping such a huge secret!

Hope everyone is having a lovely evening. I’m about to crawl into bed.

Night all x

Jebbs · 10/05/2018 02:46

@Frenchiemamax we've told my parents as I was staying with them early on and we wanted it to come from us rather that's a guess from me running to the loo every hour (will be the first grandchild for them as well as our first). It also means I have someone other than DH to talk to if things don't go as hoped... For everyone else we plan on telling them nearer the 12 week mark but it's so hard!

Upsydasiy · 10/05/2018 05:38

Morning everyone
Morning insomnia continues been up since 4am. It’s fgoing to be a long day 😂

laurs2309 · 10/05/2018 06:26

Thanks @Pearcrumble. She gave me some anti sickness tablets so will see how I go with those.

@Upsydasiy was 3.20am for me today...but that's because a cat got into my bedroom! Was convinced it was a burglar rustling around till I opened my eyes and was face to face with a massive black cat sitting on my bedside table watching me! 😱 We don't have cats so as you can imagine it scared the life out of me!

Upsydasiy · 10/05/2018 06:28

@laurs2309
Sorry lovely but that’s give me a bit of a giggle this morning 😂

laurs2309 · 10/05/2018 06:54

@Upsydasiy pleased to be of service! 😁

LeeCee · 10/05/2018 07:17

Morning ladies

@laurs2309 I was not expecting the "we don't have a cat" bit to that story 😂😂

Hope everyone is feeling well today. I've had no more nausea yesterday but I'm in to see my GP today so hopefully will get a confirm that all is on track!

ohhellojo · 10/05/2018 07:30

Bit of a weird question, but has anyone had any shooting pains in their bellies after lovemaking? It’s only one or two twinges, but it makes me wince and go ‘ooh!’. As if I’ve stood up too fast and twinged a muscle, but instead of in my leg or my back it’s in my lower belly and seeing as this is my first, I was wondering if that was in the slightest bit normal?

Frenchiemamax · 10/05/2018 08:26

Morning lovelies, hope you all had a comfortable evening! Sorry to hear about you guys with insomnia, I was also up at 4am yesterday morning (but for some reason I didn't mind a bit) :)

jellyfish2210 · 10/05/2018 08:55

@laurs2309 that's given me a real laugh this morning. I frequently wake up with a cat in my face, but she is definitely ours. I would've hit the roof if that had been me!! How did it get in??

@ohhellojo good on you for asking about the love making giving you shooting pains. Hubby and I have been avoiding the whole subject!! But from what I have read, if you orgasm then your cervix contracts or something along those lines. It is not harmful at all to you or your baby. And sometimes there can be a little spotting.

This is our first pregnancy so doing a lot of reading but definitely been too worried to make love!

LeeCee · 10/05/2018 09:11

@ohhellojo we've been avoiding sex altogether since we discovered we were pregnant 🙈 I know it's ridiculous and there's no risk of harm to the baby but it's our first and we're so over cautious

ohhellojo · 10/05/2018 09:14

@jellyfish2210 it was like we were doing it for the first time ever, we were both real nervous; like ‘oh are you okay? Is that hurting you? How does that feel?’
I’ve had spotting on certain ocassions over the past couple weeks, but never this pain afterwards so I’m a tad concerned. Fingers crossed I just have a spazzy cervix 😂😂

@laurs2309 do you know where the cat came from? A neighbours? Or just a random moggy? Absolutely hilarious 🤣

ohhellojo · 10/05/2018 09:17

@LeeCee I had to persuade him it was okay, he was like Seth Rogan in Knocked Up - all panicky about prodding something that can only be the size of a pea right now 😊

emdoc · 10/05/2018 09:33

Haha we had the same! Had a sex slump after our BFP I think due to a combo of exhaustion/schedules/him being scared of causing problems! And my sex drive hasn’t been as high I’d say since conceiving. We did sort that out now though 😆 I did feel a couple of crampy twinges.

I’ve had two pretty good days with mild queasiness and it’s making me a bit nervous even though I’m happy to feel well! Keep telling myself to enjoy it because it might not last...

loopdeelou · 10/05/2018 09:42

Sex, what's that? 😂 He is not coming anywhere near me when I feel like I'm going to vomit on him! Poor guy.

Ah ladies this chat has really made me chuckle!!

Jebbs · 10/05/2018 09:59

@ohhellojo I had a slight shooting pain during on the side, maybe about kidney height but forward... no idea what caused it and I've also been wondering if normal or something not good. I'm wondering if part is due to feeling everything more - I'm sure I'm noticing stuff that I wouldn't have before and trying to work out the significance!

@laurs2309 same cat questions a the others, do you know where it came from out how? It would have completely freaked me out to wake up to a cat.

Frenchiemamax · 10/05/2018 10:11

Anyone else having issues down below with thrush/ what seems like thrush but worse! It almost feels cut down below and reeeeeally stings when I pee! Have smothered myself in Sudocreme for now Confused

Upsydasiy · 10/05/2018 10:16

I’m spotting 😢😩

Frenchiemamax · 10/05/2018 10:24

How many weeks are you Upsy?

ohhellojo · 10/05/2018 11:15

@jebbs that sounds very similar to what I experienced! Maybe we both have twingy cervixes 🤷🏼‍♀️

@frenchiemamax that sounds terrible! Hope the sudocreme works for you!
