Just reading about that 'child guru'. WTF?! The woman is evil! Feeding controversy aside, saying your baby (even newborn) should only have cuddles at bath time or bedtime? Only one feed at night? Should sleep through from 11 to 7 from day 1? !!!!!!

Btw, sorry about my rant earlier. Feeling a bit better now flat is tidier and had cake from waitrose...

DaisysGotABigBump · 15/05/2007 17:21

Holly...re the evening primrose oil.......

First take one of Alice's paint brushes....

BadZelda · 15/05/2007 17:27

Actually Holly - it took me years to find a dentist that DOESN'T freak me out, having been sent to the 'butcher of ladbroke grove' as a child. Now, despite being currently eligible for freebies on the NHS would still rather pay as I trust him implicitly!

Sorry to hear you've been so poorly sputnik...not down to dodgy rice???

DaisysGotABigBump · 15/05/2007 17:34

Hey....we need a new thrad title, since Nannyjo was first past the post!!!

foxybrown · 15/05/2007 17:43

Busy day on here!

Hope you are all OK.

Am officially nesting. I cleaned the powder drawer of the washing machine.

DaisysGotABigBump · 15/05/2007 17:52

I washed out my wash bag in preparation for getting my hospital bag ready....then cleaned the kitchen cupboards (that is such a big nesting type deal for me!)

DaisysGotABigBump · 15/05/2007 17:56

I need big pants......all my pants have started rolling down and really digging in just under my bump along the line of my old c-section scar !

So, advice needed from all you big pant fans....Do I buy big pants in the next size up, or two sizes up, or splash out on maternity pants????? I'm worried that if I don't get maternity ones they'll just dig in further up?

notsolilKel · 15/05/2007 18:04

LMAO at name changes. Already got my big fat moniker on time to contemplate the postbirth name lilkelsgotasaggybumandtum?

So KWYM about the workmen being around and thinking they must think you're the laziest arse ever. Had some boiler people here for 2/3 days and am convinced they each thought I was total spoiled brat watching daytime TV and doing fark all - ha!

also ROFL at my "qualifiedness" to comment on grammar. Whatcha mean anyways? We Americans can't speak no proper English or summat? Yeah I had a witch for an English Grammar teacher (yes some years ago, before they invented fire, there was a subject in schools called English Grammar!) and ever since I'm one of those irritating people who get twitchy when apostrophes are used incorrectly, and people generally speak like idiots. Thankfully I'm so perfect I never make mistakes myself - har har har -

annobal · 15/05/2007 18:15

LOL at name changes. Workmen finally gone and will be back tomorrow (so another night without a shower and toilet in ensuite - I'm going to be really smelly as its been at least 2 weeks without )

Re big pants - I got mine from John Lewis (but then I do get most things from there...) - pack of 5 for £6, not Tescos cheap but really comfy and just bought the next size up - now too big on me as I seem to have weight shifted from everywhere to bump. I am SURE that is a temporary thing .

annobal · 15/05/2007 18:17

Just for you lilkel

notsolilKel · 15/05/2007 18:21

GAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

annobal · 15/05/2007 18:25
Grin
riabutterflew · 15/05/2007 18:46

Am getting really good at stalling. Another phonecall to my sister and very long email to my other sister. No nesting going on here today!

See you later when I have no children awake to growl at.

DaisysGotABigBump · 15/05/2007 18:50

You do have another toilet and bathing facility though...don't you Annobal?.....I hope

kittykitt · 15/05/2007 18:52

Very chatty on here as usual - taking me ages to catch up again! Will be a relief when mat leave starts so that i can keep up in "real time"!
Scary to hear of first June birth - congrats to Nannyjo!!
Lots of nesting going on then.. I wish!! We now have NO kitchen at all and the builder was looking all gloom and doom this morning when he said that if it continued to rain they wouldn't be able to lay the concrete. I HATE this weather - can't believe it would have to piss it down these couple of weeks of all weeks..
So it's like living in a bedsit at the mo with all cooking arrangements in the living room. Called my mum to tell her to get cooking - i'm going to collect lots of curries on Friday to freeze. (Of course the sofa, curtains, etc will then smell of curry, but what can you do?)
Great idea on the texting buddies thingie - will send you my email Holly!

notsolilKel · 15/05/2007 18:53

ok here's a real i'm-so-over-this-pg-thing thought for you - how about ditching the pants altogether and simply sticking a Carefree pad into your trousers? blardy pants don't reach beyond pubic bone at this point anyway.....

NattyThomasandEllen · 15/05/2007 18:57

best knickers i found were marks and sparks £4 for 5 i think.. bought a size 22 so they are absoulty massive and go all the way to the top of my bump, oooo so comfy.. do get a shock when look in mirror to find bump is pink... lmao
had a good day, Thomas is FINALLY within the correct weight percentile, and hes shot up to. he still only weighs 21.5 pound bless him
no nesting here.. dreading having to start packing, and thinking sod all point nesting a "nest" that wont be my nest for much longer..

DaisysGotABigBump · 15/05/2007 18:59

PMSL Lilkel....but not such a bad idea, except in my case it would need to be TenaLady .

Kittykit...sorry about your builders . they really know how to take the p*** sometimes don't they. Deny them any more cups of tea until they get finished!!

kittykitt · 15/05/2007 19:02

One of the builders is really fit - i've even caught myself trying to flirt with him, then i remember that i am the size of a house with bad skin and the worst array of clothing thrown on...
Ah well, i can perhaps just spy on him through the window and dream
Maybe just a sneaky cuppa for him!

kittykitt · 15/05/2007 19:04

forgot to say - LOL at the name changes!!

DaisysGotABigBump · 15/05/2007 19:05

good news about Thomas Natty....try not ot get too hung about percentiles...DS was on the 91st for weight, but always the 50th for height/length cos he was a chubby little onion, but he's evened out now and is nicely proportioned, whereas my poor nephew whos 8 wieghs the same as a four year old and wears clothing for 5-6 year old. My sis's HV got a bit angsty about it, but sis is only just 5' and her DH is only 5'4" so he's never going to be a basketball player is he?

NattyThomasandEllen · 15/05/2007 19:06

only if he tells u ur blooming then he can have lots of tea !

hubby has finished work.. wait for it.. 3
hours early

notsolilKel · 15/05/2007 19:12

don't worry Nat the hormones will kick in at some point and you will not be able to resist them....till then I'd just rest up if I were you, you'll need your strength to move house!!

oh my DH has defo won major brownie points - brought home lovely bunch of pink roses (my fave) in honour of our engagement day (3 yrs ago today)! how sweet is that?

what's the rule about making tea for workmen anyway? how long do they have to be working for you before they qualify for tea? I wonder if that's why our bloody boiler still isn't working properly (is poorly )

kittykitt · 15/05/2007 19:13

Lucky you, Natty.
Mine's just called - he's working in London during the week - to tell me that he's on his way out to have dinner at a aswanky restaurant with clients.
I, on the other hand, am going to stick a jacket potato in the microwave (no oven to crisp it up!) and have it with beans. YUM
AND he'll be drinking wine
