Hey guys new thread!
(i stole the title )

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
riabutterflew · 15/05/2007 13:22

I am V[blush[. My window cleaner has just been and he asked if we were moving. I assumed he meant because of all the piles of assorted crap all over that I am in the middle of sorting out. I had forgotten that some drunken revellers put a for sale notice in our garden at the weekend and it's still there. I am such a tit sometimes!

I am still quietly fuming over DHs work situation (and working myself into a state). I am sure they are taking the piss because they know we can't afford for him to walk out (which is what he would have done ages ago if I had not been PG) and even if he left for a different job (and he IS going to start looking because I am not having 3 children and doing this every chuffing couple of weeks) he will lose his PL entitlement. FFS.

auntymandy · 15/05/2007 13:46

hi all.
Mot been around for ages. Just wondered if anyone had had their june bundle yet?

annobal · 15/05/2007 14:04

Hi auntymandy, how are you? I think there has been one birth so far (there is a stats link further down this thread). Hope everything is going well.

notsolilKel · 15/05/2007 14:22

hello anyone there?

Loved your lists of things to look forward to when not pg anymore. Mine in no particular order:

  1. wearing non-smocky tops!
  2. jogging
  3. wine
  4. champagne
  5. beer
  6. brie
  7. sushi
  8. DH and resuming marital 'relations'
  9. reaching the taps at the sink without having to hoik belly up over the rim of said sink
10. the baby and all the lovely babyness - wee toes, drooly smiles, baby smell, snuggles, cuddles, and cute ickle clothes

Was going round the shops yesterday (just to torture myself really, as we've no money and I've no ambition to wear actual "real" clothes anytime soon) and was positively mortified that current fashion still appears to include racks & racks of huge billowy tops!!! Even the new Ms Moss collection had just oodles of giant floaty stuff! Last thing I want when this baby is finally out, is to shroud myself in yet MORE baggy preggie tops! I hope all this fashion for the pg look changes sometime in the summer...!!!

Natty belated compliments on your blog. Props to you!

9 days to go, beginning to wonder which mags to take to hospital with me...

daisybump · 15/05/2007 14:26

LOL Ria....some of the things you post....you could have your own soap opera.

DHs job sounds like a nightmare though...an old flatmate of mine used to go out with a chef and that was bad enough, being married to one must be hell with the amount of hours they have to work!

You should start up your own restaurant with you front of house....and call it Butterflies

Hi Auntymandy ...is everything ok with you and your LO? We've been wondering about some of the names that had gone quiet. Hopefully everyone will pop back in to post baby news. One down...lots more to go.

Hi Annobal....glad you're feeling better, but take it easy still...if you were the beginning of June I'd say clean the house from top to bottom, but...its a bit too soon for you isn't it?

Sputnik for you feeling poorly...there's been a lot of it about on here and if it wasn't for the fact that we're all at opposite ends of Europe....you'd think it was a bug that was getting passed around...or a computer virus ..bad joke!

I'm sitting here polishing my halo...I've cleaned the front of (almost) all of the kitchen units and the white goods....which is no mean feat as our kitchen is like a bloody aircraft hanger (still not enough cupboard space though )

daisybump · 15/05/2007 14:31

Hi Lilkel...I'm positively welcoming this seasons big floaty numbers....they'll hide all the post baby flab!!

9 days....blooming heck, are you getting nervous about it yet, or just taking it in your stride? Who's looking after your DS on the day, and more importantly who's letting us lot know the news? Have you primed your DH....and have you joined up with Holly on the text buddy list?

notsolilKel · 15/05/2007 14:38

major at your aircraft hangar kitchen. KWYM about storage tho - it's like lost umbrellas - what happens to it all??

I wouldn't mind a little floatiness in the tops but seriously, if I put some of the current stuff on after pg, people will still blardy think I'm farking 9mo pg!! gahhhhh!!

I'm wavering between excitement, paranoia, depression, exhiliration, panic, fear, worry, suspense, hunger, and cravings for alcholic beverages... all perfectly normal at this late stage I'm sure

Mainly bored off my arse as there's nothing left for me to do - anything I think of (repainting ceiling in the loo, which is in dire shape, for example) is strictly not allowed. boo hoo!

Also v occupied with 1000's of scenarios for possible care of DS depending on time of day and day of week, when labour actually starts. If in fact the baby waits till the 25th, it's fine as MIL will be here. HOWEVER any earlier and it's going to be a bit crazy. Cue my concerns about waiting times when showing up for elec section at hosp.

daisybump · 15/05/2007 15:01

Just been trying to pack my hospital bag, and took the sudden notion to wash my wash bag....in 3 years the muck has never bothered me, but today ....so that's kind of stalled things there till it's dry.

I also don't think it's all going to fit in my little (expensive) bag that I bought....nappies and sanitary products being bloody bulky things....so I might need a second bag for baby things...not unreasonable I don't think; it can stay in the boot of the car till needed. Pram being delivered tomorrow which has a matching change bag so that'll do just nicely (even if it doesn't colour co-ordinate with mine)

fatcatkin · 15/05/2007 15:14

Daisy,
I've been wondering how everything is going to fit in my hospital bag too. So far, i have a labour bag, an immediately after labour bag, a baby bag and a rest of stay bag. And nothing fits!!

notsolilKel · 15/05/2007 15:35

we're just going to have to sneak all these bags in gradually - bringing them all in at once would be waaay too desp housewives

actually i relied a lot on DH last time to bring in fresh clothes, packs of mat pads, food, etc (and take away the stuff needing washing). but then I was in hosp for a week...

was just spray painting some baskets to match my (still) uber-neutralised theme (aka white, white, and yet more white). blardy hell. those kids who do all that graffiti must have some bionic wrists. my hand hurts from just 2 minutes of holding down the spray button!!

annobal · 15/05/2007 15:59

LOL at sneaking in bags. You'd think after a hospital scare I might have packed my bag, but no...

Lilkel, also have thousands of scenarios as to who will look after LOs when I go into labour. Worse comes to worse, I'll go in with indep midwife and DH will look after LOs.

Well, I've picked up DS1 from nursery and didn't even bother to turn the tv off. I have workmen fixing the ensuite today and they must think I'm the WORST mother EVER as I haven't left the sofa or turned the tv off ALL DAY. Have to say that I'm getting a bit annoyed with them now as they are making a huge mess tracking in loads of dirt - i'm starting to sound a bit uptight now...

Seansgirl · 15/05/2007 16:09

TG! Thought it was just me who couldn't manage a 'travelling light bag' Think I had two bags last time, the labour bag and the after bag too.

Sorry to hear you're not feeling well Sputnik, poor you! you have just got up off your feet

Lilkel, so your state of readiness I am sooooooooo far behind I think I might pass out at the thought of it all!

Daisy just the job in the kitchen I've been putting off too - cupboard fronts - how do they get so frickin' filthy? That and skirting boards ...grrrr!

evenfattercatkin · 15/05/2007 16:13

Just found this thread about another scary guru lady!

daisybump · 15/05/2007 16:13

I just hope I don't go early as the in-laws offered to come and stay to look after DS....then booked 2 weeks in Greece and arn't back till the 8th June...then are having FILs 70th brithday lunch on my bloody due date.

Friends have offered ("just call, it doesn't matter what time of night"...but do they really mean that, I mean really really mean that) as has the lady scross the road and DSs sometimes childminder....but I worry that people are just saying that to be polite and when push comes to shove...

Lilkel...I've just been reading the 'poorly' thread....as an American, are you qualified to comment on grammar in such a knowledgeable fashion?...I mean you guys say dove instead of dived and burglarized instead of burgled..... (I was going to ask that on the other thread but what a can of worms that would open up and I didn't want you getting it in the neck from all and sundry)

daisybump · 15/05/2007 16:14

LOL at the name change Fatcatkin!!!!

evenfattercatkin · 15/05/2007 16:14

I felt it was necessary!

DaisysGotABigBump · 15/05/2007 16:16
Grin
evenfattercatkin · 15/05/2007 16:26

Am feeling slightly proud as I have begun to tackle the mess that is the upstairs of my house! I haven't really done much but I've at least made a start so i'm feeling much better about it. Might go and do a bit more now while i'm in the right frame of mind....

DaisysGotABigBump · 15/05/2007 16:36

I'd better be off and do some real parenting for a change. I promised DS that if he was good, I'd stay off the computer.....he's just come through to remind me that he's been good all day and to tell me that I'm not spending enough quality time with him and we need to do some painting....where does he get it from!!

evenfattercatkin · 15/05/2007 16:38

Bless him! Enjoy the painting...
Liking your name change too!

BadZelda · 15/05/2007 17:02

Hello back from dentist. Apparently my original repair was so good that he was able to just glue it back on. Still managed to give me two shots of anaesthetic 'in case you experience any discomfort'...hmmm I can't help thinking having a fat lip all arvo is worse...but at least I don't have a sharp fang sticking out of the front of my mouth any more: hurrah!

Have had two people spontaneously shout 'that's a boy' whilst looking at my bump today (not at the same time). One was persian and the other african...still wondering if the ultrasound guy (who said it was a girl) was wrong...guess we'll find out in a month or so...

BadZelda · 15/05/2007 17:04

And DH came back all happy from the kiddy group as he met another dad and bonded with him, so even forgave me for my strop at him this morning. He also cleaned out loads of junk from our cellar whilst I was at the dentist. Wonder if he's nesting?

hollyandalice · 15/05/2007 17:06

Yawn, isn't shopping exhausting?! Actually what I mean is isn't shopping with a naughty two year who insists on walking and running across roads in the pissing rain exhausting?! I do, however, have all my Boots bits and pieces so am feeling quite sorted! I even bought some evening primrose oil, though I'm not sure what to do with it!!

Sputnik, I hope you are feeling better you poor thing!

Hope everyone has had a good day! xx

hollyandalice · 15/05/2007 17:08

I have a broken tooth too bz! I'm too scared to get it fixed though, my last visit to the dentist was v traumatic! Bless your dh bonding with another dad!

riabutterflew · 15/05/2007 17:11

Dad bonding? Don't think we have that in Northern villages

Another installment in the Ria-opera. As the window cleaner was here I unlocked the garden gate (can't really expect him to climb 6ft of fence with a ladder and a bucket, can I?) so I locked the back door and the door into the conservatory so DS2 couldn't get out. While I washed up from lunch he got the key for the living room window (it is a low one and opens into the conservatory) and climbed through it and let himself into the garden! As I was cross (although proud of his deviousness in a misguided kind of way) I sent him to bed, so have been asleep for a couple of hours too and still feel like shite.

Kitchen cupboards - I started cleaning the fronts on Sunday and did 5 of them (having cleaned the insides the other week). Yesterday DH managed to spill tea down two of them, already. Am going to finish them off tonight then I can hear the boys being naughty but don't actually have to sit and watch them.
