You're not mental daisy, just pregnant! (((HUGS)))

daisybump · 12/05/2007 20:50

Cheers Foxy...now I get £5 off another bra!

NattyThomasandEllen · 12/05/2007 20:51

we are ALL mental then.. sounds about right some of the posts make me wonder sometimes lmao

OP posts:
foxybrown · 12/05/2007 20:51

But you are such a lovely mentalist, Daisy!

I don't think you are mental (really) but I think you've had a tricky time of it. This baby is coming out, by hook or by crook, by fanny or tum - one way or the other. You might find that once you decide to have a c-s it clears your head - you won't be left in limbo. There are lots of positives about it. And if you don't, then you can wait with us and we can drive each other slowly crazy

daisybump · 12/05/2007 20:53

Off to watch CSI NY...even if it is a repeat....

Oh, booked DS birthday party today...at aforementioned Wacky Warehouse. Wanted to have a big barbecue but as its two weeks away from D-Day....thought getting someone else to organise would be the sensible thing to do!!

NattyThomasandEllen · 12/05/2007 20:55

daisy if it helps i had almost EXACTLY the same birth experiance. am also very nervous of dialting to same point and stopping. did you have an epi?

OP posts:
hollyandalice · 12/05/2007 20:55

Wow you are brave daisy! I don't think I'm going to bother with a birthday party this year for dd. Am I a bad mum? I just don't think I could handle it atm!

foxybrown · 12/05/2007 20:56

Definately Daisy!

I did that for DS1'a 3rd b'day, expecting to be sat on my arse introducing my newborn daughter to everyone (she was due a week beforehand). Little did I know she'd be late and I'd still be crawling around rescuing small children from soft play corners!

NattyThomasandEllen · 12/05/2007 20:56

i didnt H&A, and it was my sons 1st.. evil mother

Cheers you lovely lovely bunch . I've had a rough few years with one thing and another, and the PG state, although marvellous, doesn't make dealing with things that easy......it seems that in the last 2.5 years I've had every significant life event in the book thrown at me (sometimes doubled) so it's no wonder I'm feeling a little bit touched by it all.

I promise I will stop with the whinging and get with the programme and be a paragon of good homour and bubbliness from now till D-Day....

BadZelda · 12/05/2007 20:58

Hey Natty - what great news about the house - fingers AND toes crossed that you get it. Daisy: put your feet up higher than your hips...might help with the swelling? Oh and keep your fluids up. And no - I don't think you're mental either, just have a lot to deal with and maybe not enough support during the week. We're here for you to vent at though. Like the title...it does seem much closer all of a sudden. Friend brought around baby sling, moses basket, carseat and steriliser today: eek! Everything's just about ready now...just got to wash all the sheets / covers and we'll be there.

daisybump · 12/05/2007 20:59

LOL Foxy...mind you, the spiral slide into the ball pit might have been good for bringing it on!! I might just try that

NattyThomasandEllen · 12/05/2007 20:59

oh daisy i know what u mean! in the last few months alone ive been issued an eviction notice, got married (so stressful omg) celebrated sons 1st birthday, now im moving a few days b4 baby due! eeckkk!

OP posts:
foxybrown · 12/05/2007 21:00

farkin 'ell!

I've mostly sat on my arse and eaten cake

NattyThomasandEllen · 12/05/2007 21:01

good idea.. i wonder if the frantic moving will take my mind off it? im getting impatient now, 9 months is too long, who do we speak to to get it shortened u think?

Quick question before I go....got a crib matress from mothercare (38cm wide...the only size they do) and there is a gap of about 2cm either side in the crib, but the length is spot on. I don't remember how snug the fit was with the last one, but that also came from Mothercare. Will this be OK by the time sheets and blakets are on, or should I try to find a wider one?

NattyThomasandEllen · 12/05/2007 21:05

you can always sausage (roll) a blanket and put it down the side, thats what i have to do with my cot.

Don't know how you do it Natty...don't think I could have coped with being preggers again before Ella was one...took so long to feel 'human' again instead of a mummy appendage. I feel like I've got that part cracked this time though...hopefully....maybe not having put on nearly 3 stone will help with my self-esteem issues...feel much more confident about the whole thing anyway. R.e. the actual birth...I can't help thinking after the tedium of nine months of pregnancy I'll just be up there going - "Right it's eviction time. Out you go!" A little slice out of life, and hopefully a lovely baby to take mind off any residual discomfort ;) Hasn't been too bad this time around, but I don't think I'd ever fall into the 'I love being pregnant' camp. I miss rollerskating!

foxybrown · 12/05/2007 21:12

Definately with you about being more confident about giving birth - am really quite looking forward to it on one hand.

On the other, am shitting myself incase my luck has run out.

And I am very comfortable with never, ever being pregnant again. I'd better not be!

NattyThomasandEllen · 12/05/2007 21:13

my god i miss being "normal" been pregnant/breastfeeding for nearly 2 years non stop now, really had enough... i am totally part of the HATING pregnancy club this time

OP posts:
NattyThomasandEllen · 12/05/2007 21:14

see i want a third in about 3 years time.. my god i dont want to be pregnant again tho.. slight conflict there

OP posts:
daisybump · 12/05/2007 21:16

Ella is such a lovely name BadZ..I was always going to call my daughter Isabella (Ella for short) after my gran....but DHs brother called his daughter Ellie so that's kind of out for us now. might use it as a middle name.

Mamas and Papas do a crib mattress thats 40cm wide. We've just had a measure and that will fit much better....so its back to Mothercare I go. It's just a PITA that M&P are at the other end of town!

hollyandalice · 12/05/2007 21:17

I don't understand these women who love being pregnant! It is a miracle and everything and wonderful that a baby is being made, but I think I could really have done without ms, stretchmarks, hb, BHs, getting fat and generally feeling like shite!

I'm with you foxy on looking forward to the birth, but also shitting myself! My first was reasonably easy, although it hurt like hell and I just want this one to be the same!

hollyandalice · 12/05/2007 21:19

We were going to have Bella for a girl, until we realised it was the name of that farking annoying tweenie!
