Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
hollyandalice · 15/05/2007 08:49

Wow, sounds interesting, what an imagination you have! I would never have the patience to do that! Good luck, hope it gets published!

derlor · 15/05/2007 09:01

morning all,
BZ i can't believe you've written a book - how impressive!
Naty glad you still pg
i've had another good sleep not used to this, could have been longer though but had to get up and pack DS off to school. DD and i now sitting eating toast and jam - yum (1 of my 5 a day already!!!)
really need to hall my ass off the couch and get dressed and go to shops to exchange the 5 pack of thongs i bought in mothercare for wearing after i have the baby - oops don't think that would be too comfy!!!!! - you'd think the woman would have said - "hey muppet these are thongs!!!" but no she just let ma buy them then probably talked about me later.

hollyandalice · 15/05/2007 09:08

Lol derlor! I haven't worn a thong since dd was born! I can't stand the "cheesewire" against my scar..ouch!!

BadZelda · 15/05/2007 09:08

AIBU
to expect DH to actually take DD out somewhere, like playgroup from time to time? He said he doesn't like it! (like playgroup is for his benefit...) When I'm looking after her we spend a lot of time at library, playgroups etc. He seems to think taking her shopping constitutes reasonable activities. Grrr. Said he could have a lie-in today, but didn't expect him to translate that as 'I'll hang around in bed all morning' ...whilst I, who am dumb enough to be working for whole family when I am 36 weeks pregnant can't even get on with my work (and potentially get it finished, and go on leave) because DD wants a cuddle / climb on me. Poor lamb just needs entertainment! Grrr!

TALLULAHBELLE · 15/05/2007 09:09

Morning everyone - am off to the Lakes today, yippee! Hope its nice weather down there. No babies while I'm gone please.

BadZelda · 15/05/2007 09:09

why on EARTH would mothercare sell thongs? URGHHG horrible things.

Accessorise do really nice knickers these days?

TALLULAHBELLE · 15/05/2007 09:12

Sorry BZ - missed your post. Don't think YABU. Reminds me of a friend's DH who wouldn't drop their DD at her dance class cos was all mums and it made hime feel uncomfortable!

hollyandalice · 15/05/2007 09:14

I'm looking forward to the baby is born and dp is left with dd on his own! They are bloody useless, I have no idea what he's going to do with her.

TALLULAHBELLE · 15/05/2007 09:14

Got 5 pairs big cotton knickers @ Tesco yesterday for 1.25 -bargain. Much cheaper than disposable paper ones and got to be more comfy.

derlor · 15/05/2007 09:15

have a great day Tallulah
BZ - kick him out of bed
right DD has got "me too" on - i'm off for a shower i can't stand it!!!!!!!!!
then off to buy some decent comfy pants oh the glamour..
have a good morning all back later x

TALLULAHBELLE · 15/05/2007 09:19

Holly did u say the spatone no good? Had low iron count at last bloods and this was recommended instead of iron tablets cos less likely to cause constipation. Am planning mercy dash to H&B today for spatone, arnica, RL tabs, lavendar oil, t-tree oil, wheatgerm oil. God will cost fortune. Don't want to waste money on stuff won't need or use.

hollyandalice · 15/05/2007 09:19

I'm off to town in a bit too. I need to do a serious Boots shop, then I'll have everything I need for bubs! AAAARRRGGGGHHHH!!! Scary! I shall be paying a visit to the tesco home store for big pants too! Thanks for the tip tallulah, oh and have a lovely trip!!

BadZelda · 15/05/2007 09:27

I hate disposable knickers, so just bought cheap ones and threw them away last time: black doesn't show up much...

DH has gone out now. Feel a bit guilty as weather is shit. Where oh where did the sun go?

daisybump · 15/05/2007 09:32

Your novel sounds......interesting BadZ....actually I love all that serial killer stuff, so I'd buy it. Who do you imagine playing the lead roles when it gets made into a Hollywood blockbuster, or is that getting too far ahead of yourself?

Don't know what's going on with my nether regions this morning...but something doesn't feel quite right...no contractions though - BH or otherwise just lots of odd sharp stabbing and niggly tingly pains.

Derlor...you've not got long now have you?

bumperlicious · 15/05/2007 09:33

Morning all. Sounds like an eventful evening. Natty, keep your legs crossed for a while!

@ annobal - you're the last on the list too so here's hoping LO stays put for while longer. Sorry you were stuck in hospital. Hope you are a bit better now.

My top 10 things that I am looking forward to:

  1. meeting the bubba
  2. finding out the sex and choosing a name
  3. not being in so much damn pain everywhere
  4. getting my fitness back (and hopefully my figure - I'm freaking out like you Holly - I'm 26, my body will never be the same again!)
  5. seeing DH be a daddy
  6. seeing my mum be a grandma
  7. drinking a huge glass of champagne!

Hmm that's as far as I can get at the moment. Things I am not looking forward to are having much less money, sleepless nights, having a stomach like a deflatd marshmallow and no longer being able to eat with abandon!

riabutterflew · 15/05/2007 09:35

BZ you are not being unreasonable. My nephew didn't go to pgroup at all because my BIL is SAHD and wouldn't go. I can't name many mums that actually enjoy it. I'm off men today. (The novels sounds veryinventive, but a bit scary for me! Well done you.)

I'm sorry, but it's one of these days -

AAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRSSSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

The only saving grace for this week is that M&D have gone away so I can't waste time popping in to see them for a cup of tea every time I get pissed off and so will have to do something at home to stop me being bored.

I have worked out how to get into my La Redoute account (silly cow - I hadn't registered it properly). Were those codes on this thread or the last one Holly?

Re pants, I have just bought cheap pants too(but I couldn't get any from tesco as none big enough in our store)as I haven't seen disposable ons in big sizes anywhere (and I do so LOVE big pants.)

Am glad there were no babies last night!

BadZelda · 15/05/2007 09:36

link{http://www.caposcripti.com/\here} are the first few chapters...if you want a preview. Actually chapter 1 has been deleted now...will be weird reading it again, as it's been a LONG time

hollyandalice · 15/05/2007 09:37

Soz tallulah, had to change a very stinky nappy!! If you're still here I have been taking spatone, but still have low iron. On the pack it says you can take two a day if pg, but I have only been taking one, which may be why it hasn't been working. I am also a veggie, so am prne to low iron anyway, even though I have never had a prob before.

hollyandalice · 15/05/2007 09:40

Ria the codes are on this website. I am just going to buy some bits from there too as my account no finally arrived yesterday after about a month!!

BadZelda · 15/05/2007 09:42

Well - most playgroups are a bit dull for grown-ups - but that's not the point of them is it? Wondering if I should look into part-time nursery for DD soon, as she's bound to get bored with a new baby in the house...

riabutterflew · 15/05/2007 09:43

Last night I didn't think I could come up with a list, but let's see (I am copying here!).

  1. Finding out the sex and knowing which name it will be (but I still like them both). I hadn't thought of this - dur.

2)Having baby meet my parents (they weren't very pleased at first but I think they've come round now, and they do love babies). And going for walks with pram with them.

  1. The first time the boys meet the baby (though the novelty will soon wear off).

4)Being able to sit on my arse in bed all the time while I do BF-ing.

  1. Finding out how much weight I HAVEN'T put on this time compared to the other two.

  2. Having someone to snuggle on the sofa at night when DH late home from work.

  3. Having something that will tempt DH home from work early (for the first couple of weeks anyway).

That's it for now I think...

daisybump · 15/05/2007 09:43

I'll have a look later BZ....we can be your No.1 fans!!

Feeling a little less deflated today than I was last night...I honestly felt like packing my bags and just going....(see...polar bear). Don't know where, just away from here and the state of the house and the impossible child and the ironing. I told DH that I'm not packing my hospital bag as I might not stop at things for the hospital.....
.....Think I might book myself in for a massage at the weekend, see if that won't calm me down a bit

riabutterflew · 15/05/2007 09:50

Thanks Holly. Will save shopping for later.

Might stay on computer all day though. No-one else seems to notice the mess so why should I bother.

bumperlicious · 15/05/2007 09:54

That's sounds like a fab idea Daisy. I can't imagine how you must be coping on your own for most of the time. You sound like you are doing brill though. I've been a right state throughout this pregnancy too. I'm looking forward to getting the real me back (if there is a real me? )

Right, must get on. Got to tidy house as have a friend coming over for tea and cake later. And have to go into town to try and open a joint account for me and DH. The hopefully I won't feel like it's me buying all the stuff for the baby. Hope they let as have one as we don't actually have much money to put in it!

bumperlicious · 15/05/2007 09:57

Sympathies for you too Ria, you pretty much sound like you are doing most of this stuff on your own. Very in awe of all of you doing this with children already. I've been the whingiest of the lot and I only have myself to worry about!
