Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
hollyandalice · 14/05/2007 14:00

It looked like she was in labour, maybe not!

foxybrown · 14/05/2007 14:02

I saw that. Do you think she's in denial? Lemonaid's offered to go and help her - how nice is that?

Poor woman, she sounds like she's a lot further on than she's admitting to IMO.

hollyandalice · 14/05/2007 14:03

That's what I thought, pooing+hot+contractions=labour!

BadZelda · 14/05/2007 14:04

Holly I'm sure the midwife would try and fit me in, but you can only make an appt. through the evil receptionist - who is a bitch from hell

hollyandalice · 14/05/2007 14:06

They all are, the one at my surgery sneers at you when you ask her a question, cow! It must be a pretty thankless job though! Can you phone your mw direct or your mw led unit?

BadZelda · 14/05/2007 14:11

Yeah...but they'll just make me go to the unit over at Kings. Feel fine, so I'm sure it's all ok...just frustrating at this late stage to be kept waiting sooo long for an appt when you just want a bit of reassurance etc that size, position, etc are all good. Maybe I'm overreacting, but one appt over the last 10 weeks of pregnancy seems a bit too few?

hollyandalice · 14/05/2007 14:23

Can I just say how much I FUCKING LOVE YOU GUYS!!! I am sat here in floods of tears because you are all so lovely and nice and kind!

I received what I thought was my secret shower gift a couple of weeks ago and it was lovely and a lot more than I expected and I felt lovely and warm inside! It was wonderful! Then on Saturday I received another gift, which is also wonderful and I couldn't understand why I had received two gifts so I kept quiet and emailed marslady as I thought it had been sent to me by mistake! I have just received a reply from lovely mars lady and it turns out the first gift was from a wonderful person who just sent me a gift out of the goodness of their heart to cheer me up!! I feel so brilliant and thankful, you are all wonderful and lovely!

Thank you very much to my actual secret showerer who sent me a scrummy present from Greenbaby. It is some lovely organic baby oil, which I have already used on my dd and makes her smell divine and all soft and scrummy! Also some postnatal bath oil with lovely essential oils and it smells delish and a lovely little organic cotton playsuit, which is really cute! Thank you you lovely kind person, it is such a thoughtful gift and I love it and you!!!

Thank you again to my secret gifter! You are so kind and the gift you sent was brilliant and you have really brightened me up!!

I LOVE YOU ALL!!

I'll stop gushing hormonally now!!

I go away for a few games of Snakes & Ladders and you've all turned into blubbering wrecks!!

Don't it just warm the cockles of your heart???

notsolilKel · 14/05/2007 14:43

we love you too Holly

re the mw thing - i have most success if I just ring the labour ward at my hospital direct (skip the GP step) and just start off by apologising "very sorry if I've reached the wrong place, but I'm xx weeks pg and worried about ..." and generally a really nice MW is on the other end and they're more than happy to help you with whatever is going on!

hollyandalice · 14/05/2007 14:46

Right I've pulled myself together now!

foxybrown · 14/05/2007 14:49

Thats a good idea lilkel! Labour ward MWs are so lovely and helpful.

NattyThomasandEllen · 14/05/2007 14:56

wonders where this wonderful labour ward is..
i had mean MW @ last birth, mean they were!
i havent had many check ups, however i was referred to an out of area hospital due to my refusal to go to the local one. so i have all my checks @ hospital and they usually have space.
if ur in lambeth are u having baby @ kings? if so i might see u on the ward

OP posts:
BadZelda · 14/05/2007 14:57

Are you in lambeth natty? Hopefully having homebirth...if I do end up on ward could well bump into you though.

NattyThomasandEllen · 14/05/2007 14:58

no im in croydon, i refused to go to mayday. so they said i could go to kings!

OP posts:
foxybrown · 14/05/2007 14:59

my MWs at kings were lovely. But that was 5.5 years ago.

hollyandalice · 14/05/2007 15:00

I've got no sodding food and can't be arsed to get out of my trackie bums and pursuade dp to take us to tesco! Is there any meals I can make with fresh air, frozen peas and cherry tomatoes?

BadZelda · 14/05/2007 15:01

Have you got any pasta?

foxybrown · 14/05/2007 15:01

Rice or pasta?

I've got shopping coming tomorrow. Cupboard is bare. Just used last of butter.

hollyandalice · 14/05/2007 15:01

I love mws! They are brill! Except the one that told me off in hosp for asking her how to change dd's nappy! She was a bitch and I complained about her!

hollyandalice · 14/05/2007 15:02

No pasta or rice ! I am old mother hubbard! I'm going to have to go shopping, but it's so much effort!

daisybump · 14/05/2007 15:04

Helloooo...I'm back from the hell on earth that was shopping at 8+ mo pregnant...without a big strong man to do the carrying

But...apart from carrier/sling type thing I've got everything I need and can now pack my hospital bag

SG...got your track thingies....just let me know where to send them.

My you lot have been chatty, and hormonal!

I've just been reading SOH's birth story an blubbing...what an epic and that elective c-section is looking more and more appealing after that!

Don't think I'll be getting a Wilkinet carrier...saw a woman with one in IKEA and she was putting her LO on her back and needed someone else to help her....

got my Tena Lady and it was very very embarrasing....found a till with older lady, thought fine, she's oder she'll have children she probably understands about weak bladders...no embarrassment factor. Fat chance..she scanned it about 6 times...nada, then held the bloody things up and shouted over to her manager....I wanted the floor to open up and swallow me.....but it's done now and I'm not buying them ever again, I don't care if I have wee running down my legs and smell like an old lady

right off to get my little charmer...I'll catch you up on his shenanigans later, it gets worse it really does!

foxybrown · 14/05/2007 15:07

NOOOO Daisybump!

can't you get them with your weekly internet shop???
