@SkyLucy I feel your pain. I work full time and have an 11 month old, who has now decided to wake several times in the night. I thought I was exhausted in my first pregnancy but this takes it to a whole new level. Add in a sprinkling of nausea, which I didn't have with number 1 and I'm feeling all in all pretty fed up. If only I could just go somewhere for a half hour nap (as I have been doing over the weekend thanks to DH) at work I think I would be a much more reasonable person.

RE. Bras. I spent way too much money on bras last pregnancy. During the pregnancy and then on nursing bras. I tried to be organized and bought loads of nursing bras before I gave birth. Massive error as by the time my milk came in my boobs had tripled in size. A year on and I'm still not back to my pre pregnancy size. I spent my youth wanting bigger boobs and now I am spending my 'mid-life' wishing for my pert, manageable boobs again Grin

Picklesandpies · 03/04/2018 11:23

@NoCatsHere Thanks - I have given out the same words of support for others but somehow it is harder to accept it when its you isn't it! I'll be 7+3 according to my LMP but when I took those blasted clear blue digital tests they were a week or so behind. I took one last week and it still said 2-3 so that's also making me think things are not as they should be (as well as not feeling pregnant and cramps the other night.) I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed. Feel very slightly crampy now but if I was busy I might not notice if you know what I mean. Bleeding is still there but not bright red and not lots. Horrid though - I'll just to glad to know what's what later on. Thanks for the reply.

MrsFTigalar · 03/04/2018 11:23

@Picklesandpies so pleased you've got your scan moved. That must be a relief.

I'm still wildly nauseous, but not being sick. I almost feel like I'd feel better if I were. DS is still poorly though which is taking up most of my energy though.

Picklesandpies · 03/04/2018 11:24

@Magpie24 How are you? I think you have your scan today. Hope it goes well x

Picklesandpies · 03/04/2018 11:25

Thanks @MrsFTigalar I'll update later either way.

toasterstrudle · 03/04/2018 11:28

@NoCatsHere and @Picklesandpies it is SO much easier to give advice than take it!

I keep telling myself "the stats are in your favour" and trying not to think about it but it literally dominates my thoughts. I'm hoping going back to work in a fortnight will help give me a distraction at least. I feel bad for DS too, I feel so rotten most of the time I'm definitely not the best mum right now.

I'm struggling with waiting for my 12 week scan now! It's on the 20th and I just keep wanting to know everything's ok. I've held off an early scan partly due to saving money and partly as a friend had a late mmc at 11 weeks after seeing a positive scan at 8 weeks so DH is really against it even though I've told him that's really rare. Don't want to go to a scan without him so I'll just have to wait. Which in itself is not easy! I really don't enjoy being pregnant Confused

NoCatsHere · 03/04/2018 12:08

toaster and pickles yes! I'm trying to take some of my own advice, I have another clearblue in the cupboard and i'm trying so hard not to use it. i got 2-3 2 weeks ago, but I also would be worried if it doesn't go up to 3+ weeks.... those things are evil!

toaster i had a mmc after seeing a heartbeat on a early scan and it was really hard. i can't decide this time if i want a reassurance scan early or not. Although it is really rare, and yes stats are in our favour!

Magpie24 · 03/04/2018 13:19

Had my early scan and all was great! Measuring exactly to dates and could see the heartbeat. Hope this gives some comfort to anyone who has had bleeding. I've had on and off pale brown and one bright red after a BM. But doesn't seem to have made any difference. Finally starting to allow myself a bit of excitement now!

HanahMarie · 03/04/2018 13:22

@Magpie24 Yey so excited for you - I can't wait to have my first scan so that I can feel like it's ok to get all excited 😊

ION - why are prenatal vitamin tablets so frigging huge!! 💊

Picklesandpies · 03/04/2018 14:02

Lovely news @Magpie24 x

TinyPawz · 03/04/2018 14:22

Brilliant @Magpie24. Did you get a little picture?

I've only a week more to wait before second epu scan. Doing tests a few times a day and still positive, thank goodness. So trying to remain hopeful.

sarahhh1984 · 03/04/2018 14:53

Thrilled for you @Magpie24!

Can't wait for my private scan on Friday. Then it's only a few weeks until my 12-week scan.

Magpie24 · 03/04/2018 15:25

No pics! They said the pics are for them. Boo

Emelene · 03/04/2018 15:59

So pleased you had good news at your scan @Magpie24! Smile

MrsFTigalar · 03/04/2018 17:53

@HanahMarie they're awful aren't they. And make me feel so sick too. I think when my pregnacare run out I'm going to see if there's a brand that makes smaller or chewable ones

Emelene · 03/04/2018 18:06

@MrsFTigalar - Boots do very small Vitamin D and folic acid tablets (own brand) that are really good if you need something smaller to swallow! Smile

TheUbercornMum · 03/04/2018 18:27

Great news Magpie!!

I hate taking folic acid too it makes my sickness worse. I tend to take before bed in case I'm sick (tmi). I can't take pregnacare as the mixture of vitamins is too much so found some small folic acid ones in Waitrose. I can't wait to stop them tbh!!

Hope all those of us struggling with sickness are doing OK today. I've not had a great day again but thankfully kept some food down but not drunk much. I'm counting down the weeks until I feel better.

TheImprobableGirl · 03/04/2018 18:38

Magpie Really glad your scan went well.

Pickles That is good that you won't have to spend a worry filled night, hopefully it will be reassuring news!

I don't mind the folic acid so much, but I need to start taking some more vitamins. I literally can't wait for my 12 week scan - seems so far away! Booking is next Tuesday, which will start the ball rolling

Went swimming today and feel a bit achy painy now - has anybody else tried any exercise? Feel like all I do is eat sandwiches and crisps and will be the size of a house!

MeredithShepherd · 03/04/2018 18:38

Had my booking in appt today at 9+1. Midwife was lovely and said I should get my scan date through in the next week or two. Not long to go!!

olderthanyouthink · 03/04/2018 18:54

Sadfeeling sorry for myself today, felt really nauseous and exhausted this morning so couldn't face breakfast which probably made it worse and I didn't feel like cycling to work would be a good idea so had to take the bus which sucks. Was late to work and I think I looked a bit off so a few people at work are a concerned but I cant tell them what's up yet.

Don't think I like being pregnant so far, when's the lovely glow-y bit going to happen?

Oh and the off hand comments that happen all the time at work... today my manager said to me that I should sort my career out before I have kids 😐🤦‍♀️

sarahhh1984 · 03/04/2018 19:42

@Emelene I was about to recommend the Boots Vitamin D and Folic Acid to @MrsFTigalar too! I take them along with a chewable Vitamin C tablet. Midwife told me that's all you really need and there's no need to buy expensive (and huge!) prenatal vitamins. The Boots ones are about the size of a contraceptive pill.

BadBadBeans · 03/04/2018 19:47

@Picklesandpies Good luck with the scan tonight lovely x

@Magpie24 Thrilled that your scan was a good one! What a relief.

@TheImprobableGirl I went to the gym today for the first time since doing my back in about ten days ago. I just did 25 minutes on the cross-trainer and then some gentle stretches (didn't want to push the back too far) but I BLOODY LOVED IT. I felt so much better for it. But, I remember with my first pregnancy that my legs felt soooooooo heavy in the first trimester when I was trying to run at the gym. You've just got to go with what your body tells you x

@olderthanyouthink Awwh, sorry you feel rough - and sorry about the comments. I got a similar comment about waiting to have kids (semi-joking, in fairness) from my headteacher just before I got pregnant - and I was 30 at the time! You've just got to try and let it roll off you, if you can... Oh, and the glowy bit happens in the second trimester :)

Thelmaprobablegirl my booking appt is also on Tuesday but my scan isn’t for another month!! Feeling v.fed up today, over work, and wondering if I can hold out for another 4 weeks. Will actually be 13 weeks on scan date - does that seem late to anyone ?

Also feel like I am going to get huge - didn’t help seeing my friend who is 17 weeks and tiny - no hint of s bump at all (my ‘bump’ is much bigger but probably Pringle/cheese related ....)

Aussi · 03/04/2018 19:50

Sorry that was a massive rant - just getting impatient !

BadBadBeans · 03/04/2018 19:58

Hey @Aussi, this is a really handy NHS webpage which tells you when your antenatal appointments should take place. The dating scan is supposed to be between 8 and 14 weeks, according to this page - but 8 seems ridiculously early, and 14 seems rather late! I do know of other people who have had theirs around the 13 week mark. Mine last time was when I thought I was 12+2, but I got dated as 12+6.
