"Magpie" I don't think 34 weeks is crazy going to a wedding a few hours away. If you want to go, I'd plan on going-but worth warning the bride and groom that things might change. I went to a wedding abroad at 34 weeks with DS. I really wanted to go and had a ball while there. I guess you need to think about how comfortable you'll be travelling, and worth checking out the local hospitals just in case.

We won't find out whether it's a boy or a girl. We didn't with our other two. We have one of each, so have lots of things for both-although he/she will probably be in white for the first few weeks regardless.

wejammin · 31/03/2018 23:51

@Potkettleblack2 we also have one of each and didn't find out. I imagine each DC is going to want the same gender and someone will be disappointed!

toasterstrudle · 01/04/2018 08:27

@Magpie24 I think it depends on where it is (eg how remote, how easy to get to hospital just in case etc), and I agree speak to bride and groom about plans maybe changing seeing how you feel.

My really close friend is getting married when I'll be 37/38 weeks - I'm going to speak to her about it as I was actually fine at this point in my last one but got very tired after a while. I was going to see if it would be possible to maybe come to the church but not stay for the meal etc as sitting for long periods was very sore (although my bump was absolutely huge, might be different this time). I also don't want DH and me to take up two spaces if we'll be disappearing early!

toasterstrudle · 01/04/2018 08:29

@HanahMarie your own wedding will be totally different, you'll be on a high so you'll be fine I reckon! I got married at 24 weeks and had the best day (although couldn't drink of course!). I didn't go home until 3am, which was unheard of for me in pregnancy!

LastNightsMakeUp · 01/04/2018 09:29

We have 4 weddings this year whilst I'll be pregnant, for one we're travelling from the SE to Cornwall and staying in a yurt on a farm for 5 nights..... I could have planned that better I think! I'll only be 20 weeks then though so hopefully won't be too bad. We had a wedding last pg too so I need to claim back my maternity dress from a friend once we're at 12 weeks and I'm set!

A girl I used to work with got married at 38 weeks, she has quite a few pictures sitting down with bump below the table and I honestly didn't realise til she shared pics of a newborn a week or so later!

Morning sickness has finally struck (7+6) although I know ovulated about day 19 so would put me right on track with my last pg.... luckily I'd made us all Lindt bunny baked oats for breakfast so wasn't too unpleasant on the return! (Silver linings!) I feel strangely reassured 🤷‍♀️.

BunBunMum · 01/04/2018 09:43

I’ll be going to a wedding 4hr away in mid-Sept (I’m due end of Nov all being well). I was absolutely fine at 34 weeks last time - in fact I was still working full time until I was 39+3! Everyone and every pregnancy is different though!

BunBunMum · 01/04/2018 09:51

@Kingy2910 Welcome! Your experience is almost identical to mine! My DS will be 2.5 in a week and I had a mc end of Jan at 8+4. I was amazed to get pregnant again so quickly! I’m really nervous of things going wrong again x

GiveMummyTheWhizzer · 01/04/2018 10:10

Chocolate makes me feel sick. This is a sad sad day 😭

confuddledconfuddle · 01/04/2018 10:18

@HanahMarie I was bridesmaid at 35 weeks and totally fine. Was one of the last ones up and spent the whole night on the dance floor. Started getting ready at 6.30am and crawled into bed at 2.30 am the next morning.

I gave birth 3 weeks later. Plus I worked up until 4 days before I gave birth.

A woman my dh knows was still running 5k and matching his times while 33+ weeks pregnant. That I couldn't have done - maybe because I can't do it not pregnant either Grin

I am bridesmaid next year with a potential 3 month old - that I am much more concerned about!
Sometimes when pregnant or with babies I feel things can be a little more difficult but I don't believe that should stop you.

LastNightsMakeUp · 01/04/2018 10:26

@GiveMummyTheWhizzer bad times indeed 😪

HanahMarie · 01/04/2018 10:57

Awwww you ladies have made me feel so much better - I'm glad that so many of you are on your 2nd/3rd babies and can offer all this advice x

I have my one close friend who has a little one but none of my other friends have children yet and I sadly lost my mum last year to cancer and so it nice to have a group like this to get advice 💜

Magpie24 · 01/04/2018 11:29

Feeling really upset today as had some bright red blood after a bowel movement. Nothing since. Very very worried. Had pale brown spotting around 5 weeks but this was different. Am 8+4. I have an early scan on Tuesday because of the earlier bleeding but that now seems like an eternity away!

keepinghopeful · 01/04/2018 11:35

@Magpie24 try not to panic - sometimes this can be because of straining of bowel movement can cause the cervix to bleed?

Ladies are your symptoms ie nausea & sore boobs be worse some days over others? Mine seem very mild & because of having a mmc before im bit worried 😕

NoCatsHere · 01/04/2018 11:39

hanah im sure you’ll be fine. I felt really good even late on in my first pregnancy and worked up to 34 weeks part time happily. Even in my second pregnancy with a week to go I went to my agents party in London about an hour away as I really didn’t want to miss it. Everyone thought I was going to give birth right there in the bar but I felt fine and knew if something happened I’d just go home straight away or straight to a hospital! Everyone feels different though and I’ve been lucky with easy pregnancies.

Those of you with bigger boobs I’m sorry if it’s annoying for you however for me it’s total the perk of pregnancy, I’m SO flat chested and after bf my first two for extended periods I’m left with basically just nipples!!! Shock🤣 I can’t wait til they grow a bit more!!

magpie I hope you don’t get any more red, and your scan on Tuesday resassures you all is ok. So scary to see red though.

Picklesandpies · 01/04/2018 11:53

Thinking of you @Magpie24 Hope you can take it easy today and don't get any more spotting xx

Picklesandpies · 01/04/2018 11:58

@HanahMarie My advise is do what you can before your baby arrives. I was a bridesmaid with a five week old baby and it was HELL. Expressed for two weeks beforehand to get enough milk to last dd2 all day while I was busy and then went off for the day (and night) without the breast pump. My boobs felt as though they were literally going to explode - they actually broke the side zip on my dress. Baby wasn't interested in feeding as she had never had such a good supply of milk - no breast pump to express so I ended up trying to hand express in the disabled loo at the wedding reception. Utter agony until dd2 wanted to feed in the morning. Oh, and we had two fire alarms go off in the night at the hotel which necessitated getting us all out into the freezing cold. Fun times! Attending a wedding at 34 weeks might be tiring but I'm sure you will have a lovely time and no one will think badly of you if you make your excuses and leave early. X

Picklesandpies · 01/04/2018 11:59

Sorry to hear about your Mum by the way - that must be hard xx

Nightmanagerfan · 01/04/2018 12:07

Just to say you can get 40% off Gap with the code FORYOUGAP until Monday. Might be good for some maternity wear. It also gets 25% off anything in the sale.

Happy Easter all. Hope you feel well enough to eat some eggs!

Magpie24 · 01/04/2018 12:08

Thank you everyone. I feel like this has been a rubbish Easter, too tired and sick to do anything and now this. But what will be will be. Nothing I can do really. Hope everyone is having a lovely day.

HanahMarie · 01/04/2018 12:10

💜 @Picklesandpies

And make sure you rest today @Magpie24 - duvet/sofa day xx

wejammin · 01/04/2018 12:16

@Magpie24 I hope it settles down for you.

I'm trying to find an outfit to wear for Sunday dinner with all my family that hides my substantial bloat and uber-boobs that still looks smart. It is not going well. Waaaahhhhh

Magpie24 · 01/04/2018 12:35

Thanks guys. Raging nausea has to be a good sign right?

HanahMarie · 01/04/2018 13:06

So before I found out I was pregnant - I signed up for a 60k charity bike ride (which is next weekend!!) to raise money for St Peters Hospice (they cared for mum in her last week and were incredible!)

Due to lack of dry weather I have done little to no training so as it's quite a nice day today I'm about to go out and do a ride with Dad and tackle some hills...🚵🏻‍♀️

Wish me luck ladies 🙈

LastNightsMakeUp · 01/04/2018 13:19

I'm sure it is @Magpie24 and I don't think some spotting after a bm is unusual in early pregnancy. Try to keep your water uptake up if you can to avoid constipation. Everything crossed for you. Horrible wait with a bh weekend x

Picklesandpies · 01/04/2018 15:05

@Magpie24 I would say raging nausea is a good sign. I had a hush of bright red blood at about 20 weeks with dd1 and everything was fine. That was after a bm too x
