@givemummythewhizzer wow, 6 months in! Quite a shock I bet! My sister's friend whilst at uni didn't know until she was giving birth in the ambulance, and she was studying medicine, so it can happen to anyone! Her daughter is absolutely fine too, in fact about to start uni herself, so that's reassuring too! Thank you everyone :)

TinyPawz · 31/03/2018 16:25

I found out with dd because patience is not one of my virtues. If all is well with this one (two? ) I'll be finding out again. Been 12 years since last baby so need to start from scratch and prefer the planning knowing the gender. I would be happy either way but would love a boy this time. We have picked names for both Just in case.

TheUbercornMum · 31/03/2018 16:31

@moomoo85 Ugh yes I totally understand. I think not drinking much isn't helping me but I do remember the doctor saying that those with bad sickness seem to get it. It's horrible and not nice. Have you tried acidic drinks like orange juice or still lemonade? Seem to help a bit for me but as everything it's very individual. I remember this symptom lasted way beyond the HG last time so I'm gearing myself up for it to be here for the long haul. Grrr!

MeredithShepherd · 31/03/2018 17:24

@Tyrionsbitch yay!! Can we see a picture? Flowers

MeredithShepherd · 31/03/2018 17:39

I literally can’t stop burping. It’s either one end or the other. I am vile! DP just said to DS “Mummy is making some funny noises lately.” I shot him a death stare and growled that it was his fault! Ahhh fun times...

Kingy2910 · 31/03/2018 17:40

Hi all been watching in the background. May I join????

Got 2.5 year old dd had a mc early Feb and have found myself pregnant straight away. Think I'm about 6 weeks. Planning on a reassurance scan around 8 weeks (that's when I lost the last one) got booking appointment in for 24th April. Think I'm due around 25th Nov but that could all change at scans.

Saraswati · 31/03/2018 18:13

Having a surprise again here, I didn't find out with DD bit felt very strongly from the beginning it was a girl, I just 'knew'. I don't feel like that this time and feel very different (I'm being sick but not like it I had with dd). So it could be because it's a boy but it could be because I'm older, know how tondeal with it better, different partner, who knows?! I'd love another girl, the idea of a boy scares me, but I think it would be nice for DD to have a brother like I do.

I've only told one friend, no parents yet and I quite like the secret, I think it would make for a very long pregnancy with my mum asking me every 5 minutes if I'm ok if I told her before 12 weeks Confused

HanahMarie · 31/03/2018 18:58

@Magpie24 @TheUbercornMum
You guys have me worried now saying that you wouldnt attend a wedding at 34 weeks - I'm gona be 34 at my own wedding 🙈
Literally have no concept of what thats gona be like as this is my first...I just hope I'm not the size of a house and feeling totally grotty and unattractive...I'm quite slim and toned now so I'm hoping I don't totally balloon out BlushConfused

moomoo85 · 31/03/2018 19:05

@Saraswati I was the same with my son, I just felt that I knew he was a boy. I have no strong feelings this way though

TheUbercornMum · 31/03/2018 19:50

@Hanahmarie everyone is different, I'm sure it'll be fine and it's your wedding so you can do whatever suits you on your special day and adapt your day however you want!! The thing that put me off my invite last time was largely the long 4/5 hrs upwards car journey, having to drive there, spend a day at the wedding surrounded by drunk friends and then do the journey back the next day without rest. It just felt too much. Had it been close by it may have been different. Your wedding, your style and you can make it fit you!

TheUbercornMum · 31/03/2018 19:53

Interesting what some of you say about just knowing. I just knew DD was a girl last time. I had a massive hunch. This time I'm not sure but I'm thinking boy but I've no idea why. Last time I was adamant DD was a girl. I didn't have a preference last time nor do I this time, so it'll be interesting when I do find out!!

BadBadBeans · 31/03/2018 19:57

@Hanahmarie I would have been fine for a wedding at 34 weeks, don't worry! I am sure your day will be wonderful.

@givemummythewhizzer That must be an interesting story, finding out at 6 months! What was it that finally made you realise? I know someone who only found out at 7 months. I was 6 months pregnant at the time and looked like I had swallowed a basketball, but she really did not look pregnant standing next to me. I find it so fascinating that a body can hide a pregnancy from the person it belongs to!!!

I had a slight feeling that my dc was a boy... I would have strangers pointing and shouting 'boy' at me in the street and family were so sure baby would be a boy some pre bought baby boy cards.... she's definitely a girl! My OH and I knew she was a girl from our 20 week scan but I still had doubts til I saw her!

@HanahMarie I drove 5 hours there and back for a wedding at 34 weeks pregnant. I was absolutely exhausted but still enjoyed the day. I started my maternity leave at 33 weeks so was mostly well rested by then (as much as indigestion would allow!)

HanahMarie · 31/03/2018 20:29

@LastNightsMakeUp @BadBadBeans @TheUbercornMum

Awww thanks you guys - we are getting married locally so no long drives - luckily we hadn't booked the honey moon yet so no loss there - will be more of a mini/babymoon now which will be just perfect ☺️

TheUbercornMum · 31/03/2018 20:32

I'm sure it'll be amazing Hanahmarie. Smile

GiveMummyTheWhizzer · 31/03/2018 20:37

@BadBadBeans I didn't have periods back then so didn't miss them, no other symptoms. Looking back I kept getting a pain in my back and gagged when I brushed my teeth but that was it.

I had a really bad pain in my tummy when I was swimming one night so I went to the doctors the next day to see if I had appendicitis or something and she laid me down and had a feel of my tummy and said "well it's not appendicitis but I can feel a baby...." Never forget that sentence as long as I live.

And that was that.... Blush I was really overweight back then though. 7 stone lighter now.

No way I wouldn't have known about this one with the lovely nausea! Envy

Tyrionsbitch · 31/03/2018 21:04

@Meredith here you go! Was surprised at how clear it was at 8 weeks.

HanahMarie · 31/03/2018 21:29

@Tyrionsbitch
Wow that's incredible! Eeeek I can't wait to see mine 😊

@GiveMummyTheWhizzer
Omg I bet that was a moment to remember 🙈 I can't imagine what that would be like to be told you're gona have a baby in 3 months!!

BadBadBeans · 31/03/2018 21:29

@GiveMummyTheWhizzer Cripes, that's an amazing story! You must have been reeling!!! I just can't even imagine the stress of having three months to prepare for becoming a parent Shock! (On the other hand, I guess you did miss out on a lot of the waiting and worrying part of pregnancy... Silver lining?!)

@Tyrionsbitch Gorgeous scan!

We are going to find out, I in a way would love another boy as already have loads of stuff that I would love to get more use from and rooms etc would be easier as could share a bigger room but DH would prefer a girl so one of each. In the end as long as they are healthy that is all that matters to us.

wejammin · 31/03/2018 21:41

DH just have me my Easter egg. The thought of chocolate totally turned my stomach and I'm now eating gherkins instead. Easter is going well!

HanahMarie · 31/03/2018 21:50

@wejammin
Haha - oh dear - if this baby makes me go off chocolate we may fall out before they're born - gherkins are also cool though 👍🏻

HanahMarie · 31/03/2018 21:52

Changing the subject but - my boobs are literally so big I don't think I'll ever wear a bra again! I'm quite small normally (34B) and I swear I'm like a DD cup now!...almost a little scared to go and get measured now 🙈

hellotoyellow · 31/03/2018 22:29

@HanahMarie one of my best friends got married at 34 weeks, she had a lovely day and looked incredible. Your wedding is your day so you set the rules, I'd rather my own again than a friend's later on iyswim.

With you on bras... Terrifying! My biggest ones barely fit.

TinyPaws · 31/03/2018 22:42

@HannahMarie @hellotoyellow I outgrew all my bras, bought bigger stretchy maternity bras then outgrew those too. Blush

I'm very sore too, I dread to think what's ahead!
