I had elcs with dd and was planning on another for this one. Though reading your messages I fear it is not going to be as straight forward as Just requesting one.

petiteange28 · 27/03/2018 07:12

@TinyPawz I started a lot later than you then. Busy trying to squeeze them in Grin

Picklesandpies · 27/03/2018 08:19

Hi @TinyPawz

My dd1 will be 11 when, all being well, this one arrives. Do you feel as though you have forgotten everything about pregnancy? I keep having to google things such as what I can and can't eat. Knew more the first time around as I had time to read all the books!

6+3 today and still not really feeling pregnant Hmm

keepinghopeful · 27/03/2018 08:34

@Picklesandpies & @TinyPawz i have one DS who is 11 as well! Yes have forgotten everything... hoping this one goes ok as have had few losses in last year so very anxious. Im 5+5 today, nausea has kicked in since yesterday & boobs seem to have got massive & sore. Stomach feels bloated & tender (hope this normal). Have early scan booked for 7+0wks so fingers crossed make it to that

DrWhy · 27/03/2018 10:02

@hellotoyellow I flew quite a lot in my first pregnancy but only up to about 30 weeks, it got pretty uncomfortable at that point and you start to need a Drs note for many airlines after 28 weeks - although some don’t ask for one (sometimes your travel insurance still does). You can’t fly from 36 weeks. I hope that doesn’t impact your plans too much.
I’m sorry some folks are having a nightmare with their midwives. I see mine in mid April for the first time but I’ve booked the appointment and I’m delighted that it’s the same one I had for DS, she was absolutely fab. I’ll be having the opposite battle for most of you by the sound of it though as I’m seriously considering a home birth....!

GiveMummyTheWhizzer · 27/03/2018 10:05

@confuddledconfudle I seem to be all day nausea at the moment. Seem to just have a sicky feeling all the time unless I'm eating something.

My stomach has definitely expanded. I can still get in to most pairs of trousers/jeans but I don't think it will be long before I have to grab some maternity pants.

Had to take a paracetamol this morning as although I actually slept better than I have in a while last night, I've slept funny, and my neck is killing me! Think I will have to look in to a maternity pillow at some point soon too.

Is anyone else having a little trouble going to the toilet? I seem to be very windy with little else happening! Is there anything that we are allowed to take to help?

Got scan tomorrow and will be approx 8+3. Am excited but also really anxious about it.

Fidgety31 · 27/03/2018 10:26

I have a private scan this afternoon - wish me luck
I am 7+4
Only having it because I am still in a bit of denial about being pregnant and haven’t booked in with midwife or anything yet
I think I need to see it first

It’s 21 years since I had my first child and private scans didn’t exist then
It’s cositng £90 - not sure if that’s normal or not
At Mothercare

GiveMummyTheWhizzer · 27/03/2018 10:32

@Fidgety31 mine is with a company called life through a lens who are literally 2 mins from our house. I think it's £49 for the confirmation/reassurance scan (I've paid £20 deposit). All being well we can pay less than normal for a 4d later in pregnancy because we've had this one if we want too which I thought was good.

NoCatsHere · 27/03/2018 10:46

welcome windy1234 i am also early days at 5+1 and suffered a mc, and a mmc last year. i also can't believe this one will work out (although I do have 2 children already). If you want to vent all your worries on another equally supportive thread as well as this one, I'm also on the pregnant after a mc thread where lots of wonderful people are going through very similar doubts. www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/3165698-Posifrickinspring-thread-for-PG-after-MC?watched=1&msgid=76661433#76661433

Fidgety31 · 27/03/2018 11:19

@GiveMummyTheWhizzer
Wow yours is much less than mine !

I just did a quick internet search and there isn’t much choice where I live - maybe thats why they charge more

I’m hoping then can do it with an abdominal scan and not internal as that would worry me it might do some harm

NoCatsHere · 27/03/2018 11:23

fidgety i had one last year and it was around £90/100 when i looked at places in my area.

Windy1234 · 27/03/2018 11:27

Thanks so much everyone for being so welcoming - yes I will pop over to that thread nocats - sounds like a good place to be!

Still not more symptoms, but in the back of my mind just trying not to think about it....although at work it is all I can think about!

Fingers crossed for us all for healthy happy pregnancies

Emelene · 27/03/2018 11:58

Good luck @Fidgety31. My scan was about the same price, again not much choice where I live. If you're anxious about an internal scan, maybe have a read about it before you go? They wouldn't offer if it could hurt the baby, and it gives them a better view, particularly when the baby is so small. Maybe speak to your sonographer? I hope it goes well for you. Smile

MiniMinions · 27/03/2018 12:11

Oh my goodness I don't remember being this tired last time...I am not sure how I am keeping my eyes open they are so heavy! Doesn't help that if I wake in the night that it is taking forever to get back to sleep.

Has anyone got any energy boosting ideas?

Am 8w today, generally feeling achy but think that is coming from the poor sleep more than anything else. Nausea seems to have disappeared for the moment which is good although worrying at the same time. Still haven't been told my scan date so am assuming will find out next week when meet midwife.

confuddledconfudle · 27/03/2018 12:57

@GiveMummyTheWhizzer I'm having the opposite with my bowels that is worrying me. Constipation is normal.
@Fidgety31 internal scan is safe, I got one for bleeding in my first pregnancy and she is here keeping me awake at night now Grin

Potkettleblack2 · 27/03/2018 13:06

I've been going from being constipated for about a week, to having 24 hours of seriously bad diorrhea. It's not a fun cycle to be in!

TinyPawz · 27/03/2018 13:43

Yep. I have forgotten everything. Feel like someone is going to take my adult badge away.

Any recommendations for reasonably priced (cheap) maternity bras for large cup sizes. Was all chuffed with my clever idea of going to bon marche and getting old lady bras, no underwire and cheap as chips. Was less than chuffed to discover the larger cup size available is DD. I am or rather was GG or H.

HeresMeh · 27/03/2018 13:56

SNAP! @Potkettleblack2

DrWhy · 27/03/2018 14:18

@Miniminions I need ideas too. Our 18 month old usually wakes twice a night and it’s now taking me forever to get back to sleep. I usually alternate nights with DH but for the last week even when he has the monitor in the spare room the wailing from DS has thoroughly woken me through the wall before DH has even stirred himself. Really irritating! I also can’t make DH understand that although I’m only 5 weeks pregnant I am ‘ran a marathon today’ exhausted. Even though he knows that first time round I was in bed by 8pm and this time I am doing bathtime and bedtime until 8.30-9ish then a washload and tidy up then resettle DS then sleep, resettle DS again. I just want to curl up under my desk with a duvet. Last night I went to bed at 9.30, was drifting off about 10.30, was woken by howling DS, got to sleep about 11.30, woken again at 3.30 and up then until 6, sleep until 7.15 then awake for the day - it’s hideous.

wejammin · 27/03/2018 14:29

@DrWhy I am also completely wiped out. Spent most of the day letting DD watch cartoons so now she's completely hyper. DH helpfully reminded me last night that Serena Williams was still winning grand slams during her pregnancy. I told DH he was very lucky that I didn't have a tennis racquet nearby at that moment or he would have felt it, cheeky bugger.

I have a big job interview tomorrow and I've not been sleeping worrying about it so that's really not helping with the tiredness either.

My 12 week scan is now booked for 20th April. It feels like forever!

Fidgety31 · 27/03/2018 15:05

I had my scan and she measured it at 7 weeks not 7+4
Does that mean it is too small ?
I only had see once on 10feb and my last period was 2 feb with 26 days cycle so there’s no way I can be only 7 weeks
I’m confused

confuddledconfudle · 27/03/2018 15:05

I wish I had a date for a scan or booking in appointment or something - just so it would feel like something is happening!

I keep using my pinwheel at work as if it is going to change my dates or something Confused

toasterstrudle · 27/03/2018 15:55

@Fidgety31 you probably ovulated a few days later than you think. Sperm can survive for a while inside you. Try not to worry x

NoCatsHere · 27/03/2018 16:16

fidget I agree with toaster, sometimes you can ov later than you think and also I’m sure at this early stage when they are smaller it’s slightly harder to date. I’m sure with my last pregnancy they put me back a few days and then the 20 week one I kept forward again. Try not to worry too much.

TheUbercornMum · 27/03/2018 16:25

@Fidgety I was put back by 3 days this time and put forward 3 days last time (I'm sat cuddling this DC atm!). Both times I knew ovulation date but there's always some give or take when things happen. As my sonographer said for my private scan this time, she wouldn't be concerned about give or take 5 or so days especially early on.
