@AJ89 congratulations that's great news!

@Badbadbeans I think I'd personally tell them now in that case imo. I'm sure they'll be happy for you even if they've experienced some disappointment already. It could be that they've got a BFP already though, like you say, and then you can go through it altogether!!

Picklesandpies · 25/03/2018 15:27

Lovely to see @AJ89 Smile

NurseB · 25/03/2018 16:36

Hey all! Popping my name down to hook on to the thread... I'm 6 weeks exactly today, due 18/11. First time mum and old at 43! Any other oldies out there? Petrified and excited in equal measures - got early scan next week to check something there. Have NO symptoms which I'm finding difficult - convinced my poppy seed has fallen out already!

Emelene · 25/03/2018 17:08

Brilliant news @AJ89!

I went for an early scan at 8+0, all good, nice strong heartbeat. Measured at 7+6 so my EDD may change to Fireworks night! Smile I'm so relieved and also feeling so much better from my UTI! Hope you are all having a good weekend x

Brilliant ladies with scans today!!

toasterstrudle · 25/03/2018 19:10

What lovely scans! Hooray!

I'm now 8+3 (going by LMP, haven't had a scan), been doing the hair bobble trick on my size 10 jeans for 2 weeks, now doing it on my size 12 jeans and today was a struggle as the flies don't even meet. Had to wear a very long vest and tunic style top! I'm actually going to have to get my maternity jeans down. Anyone else showing already?! DH can't believe it as I already have a small bump. Hoping it's due to stomach muscles not really recovering after DS born last summer and not just potato/bread Confused

toasterstrudle · 25/03/2018 19:13

Last time I didn't have a bump until about 16 weeks!!

Magpie24 · 25/03/2018 19:37

@toasterstrudle I feel the same! Am 7+4 and bought a maternity bra today. Am worried about fitting into my work trousers tomorrow. And tights digging in too!

toasterstrudle · 25/03/2018 19:42

@Magpie24 I'm glad I'm not alone (although sorry this is happening to you already too!!).

Potkettleblack2 · 25/03/2018 19:45

I can't believe how tight my clothes are! In my case, I'm pretty sure it's all the pasta I've been eating unfortunately. I'll be getting my maternity clothes down from the loft too soon!

TheUbercornMum · 25/03/2018 19:48

I am now 9 weeks and have a very small bump. It was bigger but the bloat and HG have reduced it a little the last few weeks. Definitely there though. Last time it wasn't until about 18 weeks that the tummy was very noticeable!! I am still able to fit in my stretchy topped jeggings so it's OK but I need to get maternity clothes down from the loft soon I think or buy some new bits after the 12 week scan as my leggings I wear in the house are digging in at the top so I've had to start to wear dresses. Roll on spring and summer for floaty dresses, flip flops and cardigans!!

HeresMeh · 25/03/2018 19:52

Hi everyone,

I'm sorry to bring the thread down but I'm just looking for anyone with experience to help me out..

I'm 5+5 and due on 20 November. Yesterday my symptoms just disappeared. I've only had sore boobs and fatigue but since yesterday I've felt absolutely nothing my boobs have gone back to normal (deflated and not sore!) and my stomach just doesn't feel bloated and firm anymore Sad

I'm really panicking. I've had no spotting or anything like that but it's just this feeling of emptiness and that the minimal symptoms I did have are now gone!

My booking appt is not until Wednesday, 11 April ( I have an early scan booked for the same day, I'll be 8+1 then)

Any one with any advice or experience on this? Good or bad... I'd rather it wasn't sugar coated

mrsmistergav · 25/03/2018 20:01

Hi! Can I join you? Got my bfp on Wednesday and am 5+1 today. Have to wait another week and a half before I can even get a good appointment. Been feeling really nauseous and been getting really bad travel sickness - which I don't normally get. I'm an older first time mum at 37 and had to take clomid. I had a miscarriage last year but this time feels completely different!

Potkettleblack2 · 25/03/2018 20:15

HeresMeh I think that it is fairly common to have symptoms come and go. I posted something similar last week, but my symptoms have come back since Friday. It's difficult not to worry, I know.

Lovely scan pics-I'm still undecided as to have one or not. Seeing the pictures is making me tempted!

Welcome to all new BFPs!

AJ89 · 25/03/2018 20:24

@heresmeh my symptoms come and go, some days I don’t feel anything, others I’m nauseous and my boobs hurt etc.

sarahhh1984 · 25/03/2018 20:37

@toasterstrudle and @Magpie24, I'm 7+4 today and I have plans to get fitted for a maternity bra at some point this week or early the week after. I had to wear a maternity skirt on Saturday as my one clean pair of jeans could no longer fasten. 😱 Think I may have to order some ASOS maternity leggings as an interim measure until I'm big enough to fit back into my maternity jeans.

@HeresMeh My symptoms come and go too. I vaguely remember when I was pregnant with DD reading that this can be quite normal. It's usually to do with the way your hormones surge and then plateau for a few days. So your symptoms are stronger as the hormones surge and then you feel normal for a few days as they plateau and your body becomes used to it. Not sure how accurate that is but it certainly makes sense. I seem to have a few days where I feel dreadful followed by a day or two of feeling fine? Then it all starts over again.

BadBadBeans · 25/03/2018 20:43

Congratulations on all the gorgeous scans, guys! And welcome to the newbies.

@TheUbercornMum yep, I think you're right. Just tried to ring my brother to tell him and he's not answering. Typical!

@toasterstrudle I'm only 6 weeks so not in this position yet - but then again, I've not even bothered trying to put my skinniest Topshop jeans on. Living in my slightly stretchier Gap ones (which did me until about 18 weeks last pregnancy) and joggers.

@HeresMeh There are a few of us on here who aren't really feeling pregnant. You're still very early, and some people don't feel pregnant for literally months! If you are really really panicking, you could maybe take a pregnancy test tomorrow morning, and then another in a few days? But please use your first morning wee, or you'll end up getting in a tizz because the line won't be strong! Look after yourself. x

Love seeing these early scans! I never had any early scans with my first two pregnancies - just waited to the 12 week one. However due to the 2 mc last year I’m going to beg the doctor for one at 8 weeks or so just to check it’s not another mmc. I can’t bear the waiting this time!

And I’m another one where my tummy has completely popped out, especially in the evening after dinner it’s riculous. I’m only 5 weeks tomorrow. Such a difference to my first pregnancy. It’s going to be so hard to hide it!

MeredithShepherd · 25/03/2018 20:49

Yep I actually wore maternity jeans today. I have a bump already! My tummy muscles never recovered after DS! I’m going to be an elephant by November!

Saraswati · 25/03/2018 21:36

Love the scan pictures! Nearly 7 weeks here and bit of bloat going on. I've got a non wired bra already. I didn't show until over 20 weeks last time and even then just bought a size 12 and that fitted for ages. I have a feeling this time is different! I had hg last time and lost weight but it's not so bad this time. I don't have any maternity clothes left as I didn't know when I'd be having another so will need to get everything again.

Those scan pictures are making me want to have one now!

TinyPaws · 25/03/2018 21:41

My maternity bras arrived today, the're so comfy!

I was panicking they wouldn't fit as I need something to wear to work tomorrow but they're fine!

ALRM · 25/03/2018 22:28

Hi everyone, thanks for all the lovely messages. I have more blood tests tomorrow but everything points to an early miscarriage I'm afraid. Low hcg and continued bleeding and loss of symptoms. Now it is basically just: is it another miscarriage or another ectopic.

hellotoyellow · 25/03/2018 22:44

@ALRM Flowers thinking of you.

Congratulations to all the newbies and all the scans.

A little blue today. Still eight days until my rescan so a bit tense. Wish I'd pushed for 9 days not 14 now (either side of Easter weekend) but guess that risks still not seeing anything. DH gone abroad for work for 6 weeks today and I'm really up in the air about whether to visit him - normally would in the middle (East Coast US) for a weekend but nervous about mc on the flight or in the US! I'm really going to miss him buying me tonic waters with garnish so it looks like I'm drinking... And listening to me moan that the nausea is almost 24-7. Urgh.

Really helpful to hear about clothes. I keep on looking at Isabella Oliver (have got Baukjen work dresses already) and thinking I'd better make it to 12 weeks before I buy anything!

TheUbercornMum · 25/03/2018 22:47

@ALRM so very sorry Flowers life can be crappy at times. Hope you're being looked after. Flowers

DrWhy · 25/03/2018 23:05

@ALRM I’m so sorry to hear that.
