This is my 2nd dc. We weren’t trying so unexpected but I’ve had a feeling something was going on for the last week. Tested this morning and got a BFP.

So it’s DC2 (already have a 4 year old DS)
Due date 5/11/18 I think

My feb 2014 group is fab and I’ve made some lovely friends on there so hoping to do the same this time all being well!

3+6 so super early, and due Nov 12 (if I've done my maths correctly). I'm a first timer and all I can think about currently are the things that could possibly go wrong. Absolutely terrified! Congrats to everyone else who's due in November, though I'm nervous I absolutely share your excitement 🙂 Any advice for a first time mummy to calm her nerves a little I won't mind if you throw it my way... best of luck to you all!

sarahhh1984 · 03/03/2018 18:31

Congratulations to all the newcomers!

@Magpie24, I can echo the recommendation for the Pregnancy+ app. I used it last time and this time as well.

@PerrieGrey, best advice I can offer is try to relax and enjoy it. Trust your instincts and if you're worried about anything at all, speak to your midwife, your GP or the hospital. And avoid Googling symptoms! It just terrified me when I did that. Confused

PerrieGrey · 03/03/2018 18:35

@sarahhh1984 thank you! I've massively limited my googling. Quickly realised that there are about 5 different answers to each question! I wish I knew who my midwife was. Frustrating that first contact is at 11 weeks... nobody teaches you how to do this! Going to be glued to this board from now on 🙂

Fidgety31 · 03/03/2018 18:35

Hi
I got a bfp two days ago. I haven’t worked out my EDD yet as still in shock but my last period was 2nd Feb.
This will be my fourth baby - I have 3 boys aged 20,16, 8.
I am 42 and this is unexpected. Not sure how I’m feeling right now to be honest.

sarahhh1984 · 03/03/2018 18:42

@PerrieGrey Wow! That is late for first contact. Well, in the meantime you can call your hospital's early assessment unit if you have any problems or speak to your GP. Hopefully you'll be fine and it'll all be plain sailing for you!

PerrieGrey · 03/03/2018 18:45

@sarahhh1984 that's what I thought. I was expecting to hear between 6-8 weeks but apparently not! I've booked an early scan for 7 weeks to calm my nerves. So, so excited! Thank you for your speedy responses. I didn't know this forum existed and I have a feeling I'm going to spend a lot of my days here!

bangwhistle · 03/03/2018 18:58

@Magpie24 congratulations! I read Bumpology in my second pregnancy. It debunks a lot of the myths and actual science behind pregnancy so you can make informed decisions about what you avoid or do. Even when it was advised pregnant women avoid tranny eggs, for example, it was only because there was a risk you might get sick it wouldn't hard the baby. I like stuff because I think lots of pregnancy advice is pretty patronising so I'd recommend a look. Lots of my friends really rate Clemmie Hoopers book too.

I also found Coping with Two great to help me plan for two when I was freaking out about how I would cope so recommend that to all the 2nd DC gals,.

bangwhistle · 03/03/2018 18:58

😂 tranny eggs! Runny eggs. Bloody auto correct.

toasterstrudle · 03/03/2018 19:06

Thanks for Coping with Two recommendation @bangwhistle - might help me get prepared!

MeredithShepherd · 03/03/2018 19:15

Hi newcomers!
Fidgety wow that must have been a shock! How are you feeling?

MiniMinions · 03/03/2018 20:39

@bangwhistle tranny eggs made me properly LOL haha

Oh my god I am super trumpy today....keep blaming my son hehe

MiniMinions · 03/03/2018 20:40

@Fidgety31 what a shock for you, were you hoping for more children?

Fidgety31 · 03/03/2018 20:55

I wasn’t planning on more kids no.
I’m still in shock. Not sure what my OH thinks right now as he won’t speak about it. We don’t even live together. It’s all one big mess.

wafflesandpeas · 03/03/2018 21:05

Hi, another newcomer here. Got my bfp today. Looks like I'll be due sometime between 9th and 14th November, depending on cycle length dates. This will be my second baby. I already have a nearly 2.5 yr old girl. Really excited, but utterly dreading pregnancy, I had a rough old ride last time, hope things aren't so bad this time.

PerrieGrey · 03/03/2018 21:28

@wafflesandpeas fab! About the same time I'm due! Congratulations 🙂 I'm a nervous wreck...

wafflesandpeas · 03/03/2018 21:34

@PerrieGrey it's all very strange at this stage isn't it! Especially if you have no symptoms, not that I'm ready for the morning sickness yet!

PerrieGrey · 03/03/2018 21:37

@wafflesandpeas absolutely! So bizarre. It's my first and I am terrified of something going wrong. I suffer greatly with anxiety even when not pregnant so you can imagine me now 🤦🏽‍♀️ lovely to have this forum however. So friendly and lots of good advice. I hope you have a smooth (as possible) pregnancy.

P.s. my morning sickness kicked in a few days ago 🤢 I'm taking it as a positive sign!

wafflesandpeas · 04/03/2018 08:01

I still can't quite believe that I'm pregnant again. I've tested again this morning just to make sure. It just seemed like it was too easy, it was our first month of trying, I'm sure it's going to go wrong.
@PerrieGrey Hope your morning sickness is manageable

MochiBean · 04/03/2018 08:10

Panic mode over here! Does anyone else hurt when they sneeze? It feels like I've pulled a muscle in the left side every time I move.

I sneeze ALOT and am fairly concerned I will sneeze little bean out at this point...

toasterstrudle · 04/03/2018 08:14

@MochiBean could it be trapped wind? Sorry if tmi but I've been really gassy since finding out and have horrid trapped wind at times that can be quite a sharp pain! It can catch if I sneeze

MeredithShepherd · 04/03/2018 08:21

I’m also in panic mode. I know I’m being stupid and overthinking it but I’m getting way more cramps than I remember with DS. They don’t overly hurt but I’m just aware of them, and they aren’t there all the time I feel them more when laid still in bed or sat down. As soon as I get up and walk about they go. Just a bit paranoid as I’m on clarithromycin for tonsillitis and I keep stupidly reading things online about how taking it gives a higher chance of miscarriage. Confused

Whisky2014 · 04/03/2018 08:23

I'm hoping not as I'm supposed to be getting married then. But my period hasn't come. I am so worried. I mean, I wouldn't be unhappy about being pregnant but it's really not a good time.

dontquit · 04/03/2018 08:48

Welcome to all the new people. Gosh @fidgety hope you are doing ok. Such a shock for you. Hope your OH can get over the shock and talk it through with you. You poor thing! I hope it turns out to be the best thing ever as these things often do but hard to see that right now.
@whiskey welcome. Have you tested yet? When are you due to get married?

To everyone else. Oh my god the wind is incredible! Hoping it settles soon as so so bloated. Do think it settled around 6-7wks with my other 2. Bloating is driving me nuts. Going to have some peppermint tea for breakfast and see if that helps.

AJ89 · 04/03/2018 08:48

Well I’m quickly getting over my fear of being sick, with 5 episodes already today..... didn’t have any sickness with my first pregnant that ended in mc, so hopefully this is a good sign!

Millypad · 04/03/2018 08:56

Hello! May I join please? 5 weeks pregnant, terrified after a MC 18 months ago. Keep worrying I don’t have enough symptoms!
