This is my 2nd dc. We weren’t trying so unexpected but I’ve had a feeling something was going on for the last week. Tested this morning and got a BFP.

So it’s DC2 (already have a 4 year old DS)
Due date 5/11/18 I think

My feb 2014 group is fab and I’ve made some lovely friends on there so hoping to do the same this time all being well!

@FireworksBaby I had lots of red bleeding with DC1 and to a lesser extent with DC2. I've actually sort of been waiting to bleed again! With DC1 there was lots slots. It was really scary but it was fine. If it's accompanied with severe pain then that's more worrying, I'd say. Fingers crossed for you.

bangwhistle · 14/03/2018 19:47

Oh and all day nausea is really tiring. I'm in bed right now hoping my DC put themselves to bed. They're in their room reading together. It's quite sweet actually. Sick of feeling sick. A constant week of it now with no let up except sleep. Although I've not actually vomited. I really wish DH was here so I wouldn't have to cook 🤢

bangwhistle · 14/03/2018 19:48

Ooo! @TheImprobableGirl that sounds good actually. If only I had someone to nip out and get me one. It's probably frowned upon to send the 4 yo, isn't it 😉

GiveMummyTheWhizzer · 14/03/2018 19:54

Thanks all Thanks

What is everyone doing about exercise? I've lost a fair whack of weight in the last 2 years and I'm reluctant to put too much back on.

I've been doing body combat for a few years now so I'm carrying on with that and, at my instructors advice, just 'keeping it low'. So no jump kicks or jumping jacks. Also intend to keep walking and swimming but didn't know if I should be speaking the MW first? I can't see how any of this would harm me or the Lentil as I've been doing it anyway - surely it would be more risky to stop completely. And obviously I'm being extra careful Smile

AJ89 · 14/03/2018 19:56

Well I have my booking in appointment with the midwife tomorrow (at 5+5). Never got this far before so quite excited but nervous also!
Also been very tired, came home from work today and was in bed by 4:20 and slept for 3 hours. Now feel like going back to bed again haha!! So much sleep!

Teaisnecessary · 14/03/2018 20:13

@fidgety31
My nausea has hit way earlier than last time and I was wondering the same (I have boys too)!

@Emelene
I was wondering the same. Had a dating scan last time & then another due to spotting. Was lovely (and reassuring) to see the heartbeat (I know things can sadly still go wrong after that point but I think he odds are lower).

@GiveMummytheWhizzer
That’s a lovely idea, really touching.Flowers

@Magpie24 It sucks, doesn’t it?! The only thing I found helped a bit was to avoid allowing myself to get too hungry - so lots of snacking. I told my Team Leader (who I trusted) early on too - felt a bit less under pressure with them in on it.

@sarahhh1984 Will be thinking of you tomorrow.

Potkettleblack2 · 14/03/2018 20:25

Givemummythewhizzer I've been so lazy these past few weeks, but starting next week I'm going to make sure I exercise twice a week. I just jog so will probably stick with that for now. I've always wanted to swim more, so maybe this is my opportunity! I also don't want to pile on weight.

sarahhh1984 · 14/03/2018 20:29

Thank you @BadBadBeans, @MiniMinions and @Teaisnecessary. Scan is booked for 11.30 so I'll let you know how I get on.

toasterstrudle · 14/03/2018 20:32

@GiveMummyTheWhizzer I'm hoping (!) the nausea will go soon so I can get back to exercise! I usually do lots of body pump, combat and attack but I'm going to try and go for a walk each day, swim twice a week and go to body pump twice a week. If you google Les Mills exercise in pregnancy they've got a good video and pdf you can see for modifications!

I'm swapping body attack out because I think it'll just be too much for me. I'm also not going to do Combat because I'm worried the relaxin hormones will make my joints too unstable to manage all the balance work and kicks! It's a pain, but I didn't actually exercise much at all in my last pregnancy and was back to full fitness after about 3 months so it didn't seem to affect me too badly!

Saraswati · 14/03/2018 20:33

@meredithshepherd different DP over here too (thankfully!). I feel quite different, no vom yet and last time I had hg. But that was a first baby and a girl which is supposed to be worse. Maybe boy this time!

I had an early scan last time at 9 weeks as I read if it's ok at 9 weeks it's neaely the same chance of a full term pregnancy as a 12 week scan. I don't think I'll have one this time unless I have a major cause to worry though.

toasterstrudle · 14/03/2018 20:34

Also to all who've had bleeding, you should definitely always get checked but try not to worry, I had spotting on and off for weeks and a bright red bleed a couple of times with DS1 and all was fine. Good luck at your scan tomorrow @sarahhh1984

sarahhh1984 · 14/03/2018 20:37

Thank you @toasterstrudle! Everyone's well wishes mean a lot. 😊

BadBadBeans · 14/03/2018 20:44

@GiveMummyTheWhizzer Last pregnancy, I continued to gym until 5.5 months (but without weight lifting - mostly just crosstrainer stuff) and then switched over to swimming. I'm actually planning to research exercise in the first trimester tonight so if I find anything good I'll let you know. Also, I now weigh exactly the same as I did before my last pregnancy, but I look like the bump photograph I just found of myself 16 weeks pregnant Shock Something tells me I might pop out a bit faster this time! @toasterstrudle when does the relaxin kick in? I can't remember!

@AJ89 so glad things are progressing for you!

GiveMummyTheWhizzer · 14/03/2018 20:48

Thanks @toasterstrudle @BadBadBeans @Potkettleblack2

I love Body Combat so much I'm determined not to give it up. There's a woman in my class you did it right up to 8 months and she seemed fine. Hoping to carry on as long as sensibly possible.

@sarahhh1984 good luck tomorrow

toasterstrudle · 14/03/2018 21:31

@GiveMummyTheWhizzer ah did she? That's amazing, I love Combat too so might just continue at a low intensity and see how I get on!

SlowTango · 14/03/2018 21:36

@GiveMummyTheWhizzer
I’m still going to the gym 3 times a week, my midwife confirmed that basically any exercise that isn’t extreme/combat is good. I’d like to try and keep in shape as best I can but keeping an open mind, may give it up if the nausea/fatigue kicks in. I think I might have already given up the treadmill though. I was on it last week and got really busy paranoid about the wee baby bouncing around which I know is completely ridiculous but no sense in stressing myself when I can swap it for something else

SlowTango · 14/03/2018 21:37

Sorry to everyone talking about body combat. To clarify, I meant combat as in actually fighting people in a ring etc

Foreverretro · 14/03/2018 21:39

Wow - so many posts! I think I might need to start using the website rather than just the mobile app to keep a track of everyone!

@TheImprobableGirl - what a great turn of events to have a BFP, I hope it works out for you :)

@GiveMummyTheWhizzer What a lovely thought re the scan picture, I lost my Dad a couple of years ago and the most difficult thing about this pregnancy (so far!!) is knowing he won't be here to meet his Grandchild. I hope your DH is doing ok.

Re exercise I started doing Yoga Burn in January and I swear the exercise helped my cycles regulate enough to get pregnant. I'm carrying that on as long as I can and then will hopefully be able to do regular yoga after - I think pregnancy yoga classes are a thing...?

Re apps, I'm using Flo again now because Fertility Friend's pregnancy mode massively disappointed me and with Flo you can see a little image of what baby will be looking like, which I like. I've not had a look at pregnancy mode on Ovia yet (which was another I used when I started TTC) so I may have at look over the weekend!

At the minute I'm just taking folic acid, vitamin D and Omega 3 which is what I've been taking while TTC but I'll be getting some seven seas stage 2 before the end of the week I think. I had the seven seas pre conception for a while when TTC but I've not been able to buy any for a while.

Best of luck to all those with scans coming up and appointments, also to the people with spotting - fingers crossed that things improve for everyone struggling.

As for my symptoms, I'm feeling a lot better today. My 'period pain' cramps seem to have eased and although I'm knackered it's past 9:30 and I'm still functioning which is progress on yesterday! In a way I'm a little worried about the lack of other symptoms but my mum keeps reminding me that she had hardly any symptoms at all through either pregnancy... and it's still early days at 4+6 weeks!

BadBadBeans · 15/03/2018 04:55

Well the horrendous vivid nightmares have started here already :( Really hope this stage doesn't last long. Going to struggle to get back to sleep now.

minime2017 · 15/03/2018 06:03

Badbadbeans ive tossed and turned all night and had weird dreams in between. Vivid but weird!

AJ89 · 15/03/2018 07:04

I know what you mean about weird dreams, I couldn’t look at a colleague yesterday after we had a blazing row in a dream!! So silly I know.

wejammin · 15/03/2018 08:35

Me too with the vivid dreams. I had a horrendous one on Monday night about falling off a ship and no-one could rescue me. Woke up a nervous wreck and could not get back to sleep.

I had my first ever incidence of spotting yesterday, never had before in any of my pregnancies. There was just a few streaks of brown blood on the paper. I totally freaked out. Tried to phone the EPU and helpfully no-one answered all afternoon. Thankfully though I've had no other spotting so fingers crossed it was a one off. Ive got my booking in next Thursday so I'll just mention it then, assuming there's no more.

Going to the toilet is stressful!

moomoo85 · 15/03/2018 09:07

@wejammin hope there is no more spotting. How many weeks are you?

I have been having vivid dreams the last few nights also. Not bad just vivid.

Aussi · 15/03/2018 09:17

Hello - can relate for sure to the insomnia and feeling sick (had to get off the train a stop earlier last night to get some fresh air!)

Anyone else feeling v.emotional? V.poor timing for me as have my appraisal today & although it’ll be fine I’m already getting worried I won’t be able to hold it together !

wejammin · 15/03/2018 09:26

@moomoo85 based on LMP 6 weeks 5 days but I think more like 8 cos I ovulated really early.
